Booked a week here with a sea view. On arriving we were allocated our room and shown a map of how to get to the room. We were advised about safe hire towel hire etc and given 2 tokens for drinks, the lady on reception explained we needed to exchange these for glasses at the pool bar. At no point did she explain or offer an upgrade of the facilities which we later found disappointing because we certainly would have considered it. Special mention to Josi on reception who was extremely helpful and friendly. We eventually found our room. The room was very spacious and clean. Cleaned daily with fresh towels. The beds are super comfy. The sea view I personally wouldn’t recommend as it was overlooked by roofs from other rooms. I don’t personally think it was worth paying extra. Food and drink. The food was nice and we found something to eat every day. Not very impressed with the cocktails as they were from a machine, however there was plenty of choice for other drinks. Overall the food and drink was good quality. The pool area. The pool area was lovely. Plenty of sun beds and the view was amazing. The animation team were a little annoying at times with the odd burst of loud music followed by a short mostly french commentary on the days schedule, but they were very friendly and not pushy when trying to get people involved. Beach. Beach was absolutely beautiful but be advised it’s a bit of a steep walk back up. Not a problem for us but maybe for the less mobile. Sun beds we 5 euro each and 5 euro if u wanted an umbrella. 2 beach bars close by that were reasonably priced. We had a few lovely days at the beach. Evening entertainment. The evening entertainment was geared towards the French certainly, however the team did there best to involve everyone. We found it mostly a bit boring. The best night was the karaoke when everyone seemed to get involved and enjoyed it. On conclusion we had a lovely holiday and aren’t the type of people to moan about silly little things like a cracked tile or seeing cats around the hotel! We quite enjoyed seeing the few cats that we saw on our way to the room and back. I’d say this hotel is a really good 3 star and we definitely got what we paid for. I’d definitely consider returning if it came up again at the right price

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The reception team welcomed us especially Angel, and explained everything. The bedrooms were really spacious, but with quite minimalistic storage, however we managed with the 3 of us. The food was lovely, with themed meals that catered for even the fussiest of eaters. The beach was a 10 minute trek down an inclined rugged path, but well worth the walk. The hotel is very French based but all languages were catered for. Every day staff would come to the sunbeds chat to us and inform what was happening and at what times, but never pushy ( thanks Ozz). Evening entertainment was good and followed by a disco every night where all ages got up and danced. It was so nice to see how continental ages dance. The bar moved really quickly, I think pouring your own wines and prosecco helped alot. The barstaff were friendly too ( Marlon) We will miss Sara's enthusiastic energy too, she made us laugh every day. The pools were cold when you initially got in, refreshing once you were in, but this is probably due to the strong winds. We went as ' My Favourite ' which we found well worth the extra. Lastly, the Spa was really nice and we used it alot.

Run down, basic poorly cooked food, grubby rooms, under staffed and no surface left on the pool. This was a revisit to this hotel after a pleasant experience in February 2022. Never again the place unrecognisable, under staffed and the staff that are there are overworked and miserable.

I will try to summarise : I visited the hotel for 4 weeks to celebrate a “big” birthday. , partly I was alone Most of the time joined by other members of my family and friend. Reception / check in was lengthy as only one member of staff to deal with this for 7 of us. Most other queries involving reception also involved queuing for considerable time due to no staff. Room : I requested a sea view but the sea was only visible if I stood on tiptoes and peered over solar panels on the roof below. Several trips to reception to change room - in the end my family chose to upgrade my stay to the “my favourite club” and I was given a perfect room with beautiful sea view. Food : I cannot complain atall about the food , even after 4 weeks stay I still had choice , quality and absolutely no need to go hungry Likewise drinks - lots of choice and plentiful . No need atall to go thirsty Entertainment: as the hotel clientele is predominantly French a lot of the entertainment was geared to them. I knew this beforehand as I’d researched the hotel so was prepared. There was English included from 9.30 pm which some may find a little late. I was ok The animation team were mostly French but there were 2 members who stood out for me -Sara and Ozz -who tried so hard to keep us involved and in particular the days I was on my own really looked after me. Sara went 100 percent above and beyond to include my 7 year old granddaughter in the dancing in the evenings which made her holiday special Pools : outdoor pools freezing cold , indoor heated pool ok but the area around the pool was constantly full of puddles of water , extremely slippery and I fell on day 2 of my holiday -at 69 years old could have meant broken bones ! Thankfully I’m relatively strong boned but still made me very anxious to go in alone The lifeguard seem more interested looking at his mobile phone than keeping poolside dry Cleanliness : no problem here , everywhere was spotless an rooms cleaned towel change daily Beach : a 6/7 min walk down to beach over some rough terrain , but I managed ok . Bit of a climb back up but taken slowly if needed was fine. Lovely beach bar and sunloungers €5 cash only - wonderful sandy beach and fab waves! On the whole I had a good stay as did family and friends who came to join me over the month . (18 in total) My only reason for not giving 5/5 was the general attitude of SOME of the staff . They didn’t seem to be interested in their clients , some reception staff, most of the pool bar staff, some of the kitchen staff just didn’t seem to be interested in making us feel welcome . It sometimes felt like we were a bit of a problem being there and that was hard to understand for me. I’ve worked in hospitality and I know a smile and a warm welcome costs nothing . I was not a complainer atall I just wanted to feel valued and didn’t feel that sadly . But - 5/5 most certainly goes to Ozz and Sara 🎉🎉 they both made the difference!

Great hotel. Massive pools, heated indoor swimming pool was nice and warm. Good size bedrooms with a terrace and a nice sea view. Buffet restaurant was good, great breakfast, lots of choices for everyone. Food was always warm and well cooked. Could do with more choices of meat and salads. Not that much of desserts but had a lot of different fresh fruits. Entertainment team was amazing, lots of activities, games and fun. My favourite club lounge was lovely, with premium drinks, snacks, coffee and very comfortable sunbeds. I would definitely recommend Alua Village hotel and might come back again.

Our thoughts about our stay, sorry it's not in order: • Fridge in room but no water or drink provided • Heavily catered to french guests • Many cats in resort about 15 • Stunning location • Not enough staff on reception • Poor quality of puddings • Flies on the buffet • Be prepared for mosquito bites • Outdoor pool too cold to swim in • Activities and entertainment aimed for French speakers but staff made an effort to include everyone • Good selection of food and snack bar available throughout the day. Self service was handy • Good weather for January. Windy  some days but overall lovely • Lovely beach nearby. The walk wasn't far or steep for us but with mobility issues it would be. • Room lovely and spacious, clean. Very comfortable bed. • Plenty of sunbeds • Convenient shop on site • Staff were helpful • Music by poolside sometimes too loud

Fuerteventura review Quite a while ago now but we stayed here between the 4th-11th January 2023. I’m writing this review because I want the hotel staff to see this review and know how much of a good time me and my best friend had here. Me and my best friend (19 and 20 years old at the time) had the best time here. The hotel was clean, rooms and dining area modern, excellent food which was always hot and refreshed. There was a cocktail menu of around 10 cocktails which was included in the all inclusive. There are 2 outdoor pools - one with a water feature that we said looked like it was from High School Musical😂 as we went during January it was quiet, at one specific point in time we probably only saw around 50 other guests. The pools we mainly had to ourselves as most were sunbathing, it was never a fight for sun beds, there was always the majority available. The pools were slightly cold (I’m not sure if they were heated or not?) the most we could spend in the pool at one time was around 10 minutes as they were a little cold but not too bad. There was also aqua fit which used floating weight floats, which made us warm. I want to give a special mention to the Spanish male lifeguard (who I’d say was in his 50s) and around 5’7” for always encouraging us to get involved with the entertainment, especially as we were clearly the youngest in the hotel. I’d also like to give a special mention to hotel staff member Helen/Ellen (sorry I’m not sure what her name exactly is). She was quite tall, slim, and had long brown hair and fairly young. She also got us involved with the entertainment too - and it was funny the one day too when some of the hotel staff threw her into the one pool😂overall, all staff were friendly but these were two notable mentions. The only negatives are that the hotel grounds are quite steep and most rooms were down the hill, but I think there could have been a golf buggy for those who are less able to walk. The beach was also a 15-20 min walk down/up a steep hill but is definitely worth visiting - the beach also has a beach bar. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I think there should be more pools/facilities to gain a 5 star rating.
