Tucked away amongst the lush foliage is this stunning eco retreat. From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of relaxation and serenity. The rooms are low key luxurious with the most spectacular views. Meals are top notch and visually stunning, and make sure you try the basil ice cream. Sounds weird but it’s delicious. The staff are super friendly and attentive, listening to your preferences and getting to know you by name and the tours are fun and interesting. Make sure to visit the super relaxing spa. Whatever your expectations they will be surpassed

We chose Playa Cativo Lodge with no expectations and were blown away with how beautiful the property was. So much that we extended our stay an extra 2 nights! We LOVED everything about it. The service was impeccable. The Food all delicious. The room was spacious and airy. This was truly a much needed R&R hideaway to nature. We'll be back again soon!

You'll pinch yourself everytime you open your eyes or turn a corner at Playa Cativo Lodge. The accommodation is superb, I had a balcony with a plunge pool and hammock and could spot lots of wildlife from my window. The stunning backdrop of the ocean, the friendliest staff who go above and beyond and all the activities (you must try the morning yoga on the front deck) make this an unforgettable trip you'll tell everyone about. Oh and the food is delicious, with 30% of the food coming from their organic farm which you can also visit on one of the trails. Thank you!

Having the opportunity to visit Costa Rica for the first time was a special treat, and the experience of Playa Cativo made it so much, much more. Alas, I will be dating myself here. Stepping off the boat at the resort, greeted by several staff members bearing fragrant moist towels and cool drinks, I felt a "fantasy island" moment. The buildings and the grounds are impeccably kept. The food...oh the food!! Excellent both in quality and presentation, served by some of the most genuinely pleasant people I've ever met. From remote hiking and quiet solitude to snorkeling, fishing, and kayaking, I believe whatever you are looking for in a luxury vacation will be discovered at Playo Cativo.

We enjoyed spending 5 days at this amazing remote resort. Our lodge/cabin was beautiful and your manager, Kenneth, and his entire team were so friendly and helpful. Service was outstanding. I want to especially commend your chef Eduard for his excellent menu choices, great presentation, delicious food, and the portions were just right.. It was truly a very special experience for us with great bird and animal hearing and viewing, yoga, massages, hikes and kayaking in the mangroves. Both relaxing and adventurous.

Playa Cativo offers the highest standards of luxury and hospitality in a wonderfully natural environment. This resort is the perfect combination of five star amenities and a remote eco experience, with many options for exploring the grounds and surrounding rain forest, the ocean, and nearby mango groves. The lodge and Casitas are beautiful and comfortable, and the food is particularly note worthy. Many of the fruits and vegetables are organically grown on the resort farm. There is truly something for everyone on the menu, from vegetarian to fresh fish to hearty meat dishes, along with elegant desserts.

Highly recommend this beautiful lodge. My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days in the casita with plunge pool. We loved falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of nature. It was so relaxing; we never wanted to leave. The food was so fresh and healthy and they were able to accommodate my food allergies.

It has been a couple of days full of great service. The people (staff) makes you feel like home, they learn your name, spoil one in everyway. Take the chance for a Spa session, won't regret it. And ask for experiences around the area, simply the best.
