I arrived at Damia's on 11/9/24 for a week, my second visit this year, and ended up staying 4 weeks until 11/10/24 - my health hasn't been good so needed the break. When a place gets excellent reviews on it's own merit I don't tend to leave a tripadvisor review (the hotel sells itself), but this time, due to a number of recent bad reviews I felt I should step up to the mark. I have been coming to Corfu for 28 years and to Sidari since 2007 (working in a hotel for 4 of those years - not Damia's) - so I have experience from both sides, as customer and hotel worker. Damia's listing doesn't pull any punches you can see what you are paying for. A longish walk into Sidari, 2km (but savvy travellers check the various sites to check this and don't book if too far). 6 euro taxi fare (so 3 euro per person for a couple - no more than a bus ticket at home). So many lovely restaurants locally within walking distance that no dinner menu wasn't a major issue (I still managed to put on weight). The staff are all lovely and, from personal experience, I know how hard it is to put up with rude, destructive, belligerent customers who, when rightly taken to task by the hotel owners for their behaviour, are hostile to the staff - and interestingly enough leave grossly unfair reviews and get friends and relatives to also add to these reviews! These same people made my holiday unpleasant by their behaviour! Shame on you!
