A haven of peace and quiet. Excellent kitchen. Michelin star. An immaculate landscape park garden. Truly Dutch. Great high-end family hotel. Plan for a bike trip. And do not forget your swim gear and walking shoes. Or else tennis. And if this is not enough horseback riding. People say living like god in France. Not really,... this is the place.

I am working in a travel company, who made a booking in Het Roode Koper for July 2023, and I wanted to express my profound disappointment and frustration regarding the booking experience with the establishment. Our company specializes in curating luxurious travel experiences, and we have been in the industry for over two decades. It is with regret that I must convey our dismay at the lack of cooperation and understanding displayed by the management team during a challenging situation. The booking for a delightful getaway in July 2023 had to be canceled due to a sudden illness within the family, a circumstance beyond our control. When initially inquiring about the booking for six individuals, we were provided with specific cancellation conditions. To our astonishment, these conditions changed following the confirmation. Contrary to the information on the website, which cites adherence to the Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry, it appears that the hotel selectively overrides these conditions. What is particularly disconcerting is the inconsistency in communication. Initially, we were informed that the booking could be rescheduled for future dates, only to be later denied this option. In our two decades of operation, we have collaborated with numerous high-end establishments worldwide. Regrettably, the unresponsive and uncooperative attitude displayed by Mrs. Sorensen, who even failed to reply to my email, has been unparalleled. Despite not requiring a deposit upon confirmation, only after the cancellation, we were promptly invoiced for the entire stay (Eur 5 700), including three, four, and five-course dinners for six individuals—a booking we cancelled 14 days in advance. Moreover, the inclusion of travel agency commission in the invoice is both surprising and disappointing. Typically, in the hospitality industry, a professional and customer-oriented approach involves exploring mutually beneficial solutions. This could include offering future stays, discounts on subsequent reservations, or other gestures of goodwill. Unfortunately, we witnessed none of these efforts from the hotel and we understand that they obviously don't appreciate our business. It is regrettable that our initial promotion of the property has left us disheartened, as the cancellation policy appears to be misleading and unfair. A fundamental tenet of hospitality is ensuring guests feel valued and cared for, yet, in this instance, the focus seems to be solely on financial transactions. Sincerely, Tatyana Zhelyazkova

Het Roode Koper is an elegant property unlike any other. The Sanderson family has paid keen attention to every detail, from the crisp pool house, to manicured gardens, mahogany bar and welcoming fireplaces. Perhaps best of all are the people, who are warm, welcoming and to a one - knowledgeable experts in their chosen craft. Together, they somehow anticipate your every need and add special touches at every turn. Het Roode Koper's Michelin Star restaurant is led by Chef Dennis Van Den Beld and the cuisine is the out-of-this-world! Hands down,

Beautiful location, in the middle of the woods. Hotel rooms very comfortable albeit slightly dated. Staff very welcoming and good at their job. The food is exceptional. We had 2 nights with the 4 course dinner and each course was delicious. The chef is very creative with the terroir yet avoids getting all snobbish like so many Michelin restaurants. We will definitely come back to enjoy the food and cycle around the Veluwe. Highly recommended!

I gave five stars, but it’s a bit more 4.5 to be precise. The hotel is not easy to find unless you have a very precise navigator (either human or artificial). Once there you can enjoy a good diversity of locations where you could lodge. I got a very spacious room in one of the dépendance; comfy bed and comfy office space; I did not spend that much time in the room, so I did not test all the amenities. Food was very good in all cases; the breakfast was actually excellent; the only thing that did not really work was the meeting room we got; it was cramped and uncomfortable. The thing was utterly odd and annoying because there were free, bigger and more comfortable meeting rooms just shy of the main building. I’ll definitely try to go back there with my family

Hotel Het Roode Koper is a top-notch choice for anyone seeking a quiet and beautiful getaway. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery, offering a level of peace that's rare to find. The bikes available for a reasonable fee are a big plus, making exploring the local area easy and enjoyable. The service at the hotel is exceptional. The staff is both friendly and efficient, meeting and exceeding expectations at every turn. The food is also worth mentioning. Each meal is well-prepared and delicious, adding to the overall excellent experience of a stay at Het Roode Koper. In conclusion, Hotel Het Roode Koper provides an excellent stay in a beautiful setting with great service and fantastic food. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable escape.

The hotel, located amidst a beautiful forest, provides a serene and peaceful environment, making it an ideal destination for unwinding. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and assisted with our luggage, highlighting the hospitable nature of the staff. The hotel consists of a main building and several outbuildings, and our room was situated in one of the outbuildings called Voorhuis. Our room in the Voorhuis was well-maintained, tidy, and furnished with a comfortable bed. Additionally, the hotel boasts a stunning outdoor pool area with enough sunbeds, creating a perfect spot for relaxation. Moreover, a cozy place for drinks is next to the pool area, which adds to the overall ambiance. The hotel's restaurant area features an outdoor terrace, which overlooks a beautifully landscaped garden and allows you to enjoy lunch or dinner in the sun. Our dining experience at the restaurant was exceptional; both lunch and dinner were outstanding. The chef came to our table to discuss the lunch menu and gave special attention to the two young children at our party. The youngest, who is 4, wanted chicken nuggets, which was no problem for the chef. The youngest enjoyed the delicious fresh chicken nuggets made by the chef. In contrast, we enjoyed the deliciously put-together lunch consisting of several courses with various fish and a delightful dessert. In addition, the attentive and service-oriented staff further enhances our overall dining experience. One remarkable aspect of the hotel is the trust and familiarity between the guests and the staff. Guests are not required to provide their room numbers or sign receipts, as the team is knowledgeable about your identity and room assignment. Additionally, the hotel offers convenient access to the surrounding woods, providing opportunities for leisurely walks or bike rides. Overall, the seamless integration of nature and hospitality creates an oasis of serenity.

This hotel,is located in the middle of the forest, so it is super quiet, regardless birds being singing :). Every person whom we had occasion to meet was super professional and guest oriented. The food in the restaurant is simply amazing and our two dinners were at World’s class level, no wonder that the restaurant has a Michelin star. Our room, was not a room but a house located 100 meters away from the main hotel’s building. Wonderfully created an elegant Dutch type house, with nice and big terrace. Even tough the first impression was like a WOW !, later I found just a few minor things which should be improved (no mini bar in the room, the bathroom connected with the bedroom, without any doors, to enable one person still sleeping, while the other is bathing. An elderly person can also have some challenge to use pretty stiff staircase to climb to the upper floor. But, I’d like to be fair and finish this review with a positive opinion, because this hotel will be very positively remembered by me and my wife. In case this small things will be improved, this will be ideal place to visit.
