Best Hotels near Espachteich, Erfurt

Facilities: The design of the hotel is outstanding and there is no doubt. Modern sense, endless opposite wall glass, bathroom floor heating, and ubiquitous tips labels. The only downside is that there is no minibar. Hygienic: Very good, the overall feeling is very clean. Environment: Although next to the train station, there are still fewer choices for dining and shopping. And consumption is expensive. Eating 30 to 40 euros. Service: It is far from the intentions of the hotel design! The advantages of design give the waiter a superiority and generate a sense of service. For example, when checking in, customers have been in a long queue, two front desks are slowly leisurely, and the other person stops directly, picks up the phone porridge, and lets the customer wait.

We were very pleasantly surprised, super friendly reception and treatment, our Navi had problems with finding the address. Thanks to the €9 ticket we have been able to design our stay in Erfurt with the public well. Danke and Team

Modern design hotel near Erfurt main train station, and a short walk to old city center. Standard double room was simple but comfortable, very clean, with good beds and bathroom. Nice staff, but check-in process seemed a little slow - we had to queue up for some minutes despite there were not so many guests awaiting check-in. Breakfast was good (buffet) but a little crowded .

We were at 13.10.23 in the hotel for two nights. We chose the hotel because the experiences in Tuttlingen in the same hotel chain were very positive. Unfortunately, I cannot affirm that from Erfurt. The hotel is conveniently located with tram connection about 4 km outside the centre. The rooms are relatively small and there is no separate bathroom and toilet. For two days the room size is just enough, but there is no barrier. The service is very unmotivated. You can notice this already at check-in. In the restaurant you need to expect very long waiting times and also at the bar it is only very slowly moving forward. We just wanted to drink a beer in the evening and we waited for our drink over 45 minutes. Inadmissible for a four-star hotel. Although the rooms are not cleaned at weekend as we have been told, the sauna is not also available from 10:00 to 15:00 because the staff are needed to clean the room. All in all, the hotel is very expensive with the overnight price, especially since the service is incredibly restricted. We will not decide again for this hotel in Erfurt.

We stayed in this hotel on two separate nights bookending a trip to Frankfurt. This hotel is not - in our experience - typical of the Mercure brand. Far too often Mercure's are in good locations but somewhat rundown, tired and in need of attention. This is quite the opposite. It appears to have been wholly refurbished in the last five years, it is looked after. The hotel is conveniently situated near to both the old town and the main, new shopping area, both being no more than five minutes walk away. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the railway station or (for us) a €10 taxi ride. There is paid for car parking if required. This is a deceptively large hotel, the short frontage belies the fact that it has 141 rooms. The hotel stretches back from its frontage - we felt it was long and not very wide. It is spread over four floors and possibly an attic. We were on the fourth floor for our first visit and on the first floor for the second. Entry into the hotel from the street leads to a small reception area with ottoman seating. Screened from reception is a small bar and another soft seating area. The bar had elusive opening times - but seemed not to operate before 18:00 hours. Service was good. There is a restaurant that is not the breakfast room but that was not open during our stay with no sign of opening on the horizon. All public areas were clean, tidy and well maintained, albeit with a Alpine overtone! Access to the upper floors is via dedicated lifts or stairs depending upon the location of the room, with some rooms there is quite a walk to the lift. There is a small garden and paved area with seating. We saw no specific provision for disabled access but believe that the hotel is easy enough to negotiate. There is a separate breakfast room which works very well albeit it is not large. It is at the furthest end of the hotel from reception and bypasses some of the meeting rooms. Whilst these rooms were used during our stays we experienced no difficulties. We took breakfast early and the restaurant was never full or cramped. Breakfast is generous but prettty standard continental fare. Our first room (413) was a standard room and disappointing although it was clean and well cared for. Our second room however (136) was an upgrade and provided exceptional space and comfort for a reasonable price. Had we been able to satisfactorily understand the room descriptions and attributes on the website a room such as 136 would have been our preference. It had a large and comfortable double bed, a small seating area with table, a separate desk along with the usual accessories of a safe, TV, wifi etc. We didn't try the TV but everything else worked. There is no aircon but there is very effective radiator heating. We can imagine that opening the windows for some rooms would produce a great deal of street noise, but both our rooms were towards the rear of the hotel and quiet. I stayed at the Labyrinth Hostel for four nights and wish I could have stayed longer! I felt very much at home there and especially welcome thanks to the friendly staff. I was in an eight-bed dorm with one to two other people so enjoyed generous amounts of space. For me the bed was comfortable and I slept well with no disturbances. The common areas were great for chilling out and chatting with other guests (both outside in the yard, and inside in the kitchen and dining area). Good selection of books in the book exchange. Kitchen was fine for preparing simple meals. Location of hostel great for seeing the sights, right by the historic centre of town. You can't park directly by the hostel but there is plenty of parking just a few minutes walk away. As for Weimar, definitely a great place to visit - important historically and especially if you are interested in Goethe and Schiller! Also liked Erfurt and especially Jena - nice towns in very attractive surroundings.

The hotel is just a little away from Erfurt. But you are in 20 minutes by car in the city centre. Parking is abundant and costs 2 Euros per night. The staff is very attentive and super child friendly. The facilities in the entire hotel are modern and extremely maintained. The rooms are very clean and equipped with everything you need. Breakfast was rich and the choice was excellent. The restaurant was very good food. However, we would have wished a small selection of children's foods. If we are back close, we will certainly book this hotel.

They can barely speak English at reception, which is fine unless there is a problem with your room. We booked a non- comfort room with bfast for 126 euro. No refrigerator, no a/c, ok. Got it. A couple of days before our booked night, the upgraded comfort room was advertised for 103 euro. I messaged gore kindly asking them if they would consider an upgrade for us since comfort room was now over 20 euro cheaper. NO REPLY. Ok.. check in and they weren’t going to upgrade us even though hotels was no where near full in this Sunday evening. Fine. No problem. They give us room in old building with a fan. Fine. Problem is that Wi-Fi isn’t working- we complained.. they reset it. Still doesn’t work.. goes on then off.. hard to conduct any business needing Wi-Fi. Eric and female at desk have no sympathy and don’t care. They say we can come to bar and use Wi-Fi there. Well, doesn’t that defeat purpose of saying the hotel has Wi-Fi in room?

Wir haben uns wieder auf die Spuren deutscher Geschichte gemacht und sind dieses Mal nach Weimar gekommen. Das Hotel konnten wir über Personights buchen und hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Der Empfang war herzlich und das Zimmer top ausgestattet - es ist alles neu und gut durchdacht. Das Frühstück war zwar übersichtlich, jedoch für unsere Belange völlig ausreichend. Die Damen vom Frühstücksservice waren sehr liebenswert. Der junge Mann, der abends die Bar schmeißt, hat uns gut beraten und konnte uns auch überraschen. Schade, dass wir spontan früher abreisen mussten. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert und die Gegend sowieso!! Vielen Dank an das Team!

Location, lovely restaurant and great staff I booked because it’s right opposite the train station ….. but this hotel is so much more. Often ‘right opposite the train station’ means you are sacrificing something in terms of appearance and slight seediness for the convenience - but not here ! It’s a lovely old hotel (with a nice history), restored several times over the years, with a particularly impressive glass-surrounded restaurant for all meals. Location - as well as being on a pretty square right in front of the train station it’s less than 10 minutes’ easy straight line walk from the museums and the historic old town. There are plenty of nicely located hotels in the centre too by the way - just not as good for train access. The hotel restaurant is a real delight. Go for the breakfast buffet with some of the best prepared hotel bacon I have ever come across - crispy, fat-free and warm - plus all the usual egg, cereal, fruit salad and bread options. Standard coffee good German filter not espresso (though that’s available at the bar); orange juice average. Supper was freshly cooked smallish choice (these do go hand in hand, of course) - have a look at the menu in advance and if there’s something you like the look of eat here, quality is excellent. Staff very friendly; rooms moderate size, very clean, toiletries provided (shower gel and shampoo, no lotion or conditioner). Large non-leaky showers. You can claim a free snack if you forego your room servicing (!) ….. Rooms are non-smoking but they provide a smokers’ lounge for *******. To be recommended.
