You pretty much know what you’re going to get with a Premier Inn, very decent accommodation, often in a decent location and for a reasonable cost, and Epsom Central is no exception. Location wise, this cannot be beat. Epsom is a small town and Premier Inn is right in the centre but in a sort of off street “back” location. All the bars and restaurants are in a very easy and fast walk. Possibly with being off the main street it’s exceptionally quiet (but Epsom isn’t really a rowdy town anyway). Cleanliness wise, the room and bathroom were spotless, the cleaners can be commended. Check in is as expected. Didn’t bother with the breakfast as I’m an early riser so can’t comment. Only downside is that the parking isn’t great, no dedicated (two for blue badge holders though which is good) and the very nearby car park is a chore to get in due to one way system. Not very cheap but council owned and about expected. Beds as always are awesome. Only real criticism is that the heating/cooling system has a fan going all the time and not obvious how to control it, it’s a minor thing but for someone wanting silence it’s not good. Might be a way of silencing it but I didn’t ask as wasn’t too fussed. Definitely recommend.

Mould found on my son’s bedding, lack of staff, neglected building, no chef, cleaners given 4 hours per day to clean the whole hotel. Not a good experience. Location was great & if invested in, this would be a lovely hotel. Shame the new CEO isn’t listening to staff (as per comments from staff we spoke with). Would not return unless evidence of investment & more staff on duty.

The worst prem inn I have stayed in. I travel for work and also with family and this one really is the worst. Dirty and looks like the hover must have broken a few months ago. Room was tired and mouldy. Kettle had water in it, the sheets had stains and there was black mould around the windows and ceiling. Breakfast was not great, no tea or coffee as machine broke and no tea bags, lots of things unavailable and guests were complaining. Tired sticky tables and everything has a nice layer of dust. Avoid

The room was cold on arrival (12C) and it turned out that the heating was not working. When the duty member of staff came, he was unable to make it work. Provided a heater and it was 15.5C midnight. Reached 17C by morning. When I arrived for breakfast, discovered that the restaurant had no tea. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. And as a shareholder in Whitbread, I am extremely worried about the business if these are deemed acceptable standards.

So I've stayed at this hotel a lot and it's usually been excellent. Clean, warm and friendly staff. What a contrast this time. Room 320 damaged walls, torn wall paper, dents, dirty mug and the bathroom needed a proper deep clean. Staff ok. Very disappointed.

1st of all I was trying to ring the hotel for directions and to know where to park and there was no answer. When I got there there was no one on reception. I had to wait for someone to come. No apology. As soon as I walked in the room it smelt awful. The bathroom was mouldy, the paint was peeling off the ceiling. The extractor fan didn't work. No hot water in sink taps. Generally not very clean or nice to use. On the upside the bed was very comfy and I got a good sleep. The room temperature was good aswell.

Husband and I stayed for a few nights here to see nearby family. The location is good, room was standard and clean but could do with a modern upgrade. The WiFi, however, was the main issue. Paid for 2 days of ultimate WiFi access but 90% of the time it seemed to be turned off, VERY poor Internet access.. not pleased. Did not recieve a refund for the WiFi either despite being unusable. Ate through most of our phone data for the month as a result. Something the hotel should look into. Cannot comment on the food avaliable as we brought our own. FREE PARKING! Huge plus for this location. Unfortunatly we must have had noisy occupants in the room above us, 2 days of banging noises, and walking back and forth (loud walking in circles non stop) above us into the late hours, kept us from an early night. Could have been children? Floors/rooms aren't the best for soundproofing but I must say the blackout curtains are very good. But please, do get your Internet routers replaced/sorted out. Would have made it a five star visit otherwise. Good option if you are staying in the area, free parking too unlike the PI on the nearby highstreet which is to consider. Has a BP garage over the road for foodstuffs, and a vending machine in the foyer.
