Not sure why this hotel gets so many poor reviews. It is a standard Campanile outside of Epernay and is perfect for a quiet nights rest with restaurant on site. You can drive into Epernay which has excellent parking during the day to do the sights and is also handy for a drive through the fabulous vineyards, one of which is right next to the hotel. The rooms are standard motel type and, as with all Campanile they have a brilliant shutter you can wind down that eliminates all light. Yes the facade needs a coat of paint but inside the rooms are fine. I was particularly impressed with the manageress. Our toilet ran continually and she immediately came to the room, accessed the cistern and replaced a washer. Brilliant service - I hope the company appreciates her.

Sadly this hotel has deteriorated badly since our last trip several years ago, we would never go again. Outward bound on Sunday night no dinner available so required a 70 euro return taxi ride to the nearest reasonable restaurant. On our return trip restaurant open but the food was pretty appalling, a steak and mushroom stew was like dishwater. My chair back snapped and almost broke my neck as I flew backwards off it,not even an apology. Rooms both OK for the price so could be OK if you don't need food. Seem to be making up for the lack of happy tourist returners with Bulgarian grape picker gangs.

I booked this hotel for a four day stay with some friends. I took a single room. The room was nice and clean. A water cooker and some tea or instant coffee can be made in the room. Rooms a the back are very quiet given the hotel is next to a bussy road. The reception is in the restaurant next to the hotel where breakfast is also served. Breakfast consists of a choice of fruits, ham, bacon, scrambled egg, sausages, croisants, ..... along with coffee, tea and a selection of fruit juices.

Great location in Champagne, 8 mins from Central Epernay and close to Hautvillers. They served a fantastic breakfast. The rooms are tiny and not well ventilated. Plenty parking. The hotel is best described as a ‘motel style’ vibe. Value over luxury.

it is just a simple motel on the axx of eprnay. Nothing nearby, just a shopping center. The rooms are dark and smell strange. When we arrived the restaurant was half booked and they were unable to deliver dinner. So they suggested to drive into town (10km) for dinner. That is not what you want to hear after a full day of hot summer motorcycle riding. We changed the hotel to Ibis Epernay and swalowed the loss of money.

A very sad Campanile for a Friday evening. We had planned to have dinner at the hotel to avoid having to go out again, but bad luck the restaurant is closed on Friday evening. This is understood with the number of customers (car in the parking lot). Accommodation wise, nothing special, it's a Campanile. However, we asked to change rooms because the heating thermostat was out of order. The second bedroom did have temperature regulation, however the toilet did not flush! The staff was friendly and above all very responsive to our small problems. Breakfast with a wide choice and fresh products.

We spent one night with a group in this hotel: friendly welcome, hotel well located for traveling around Champagne. Correct room, good bedding, quiet environment. Good service for the evening meal, appreciated by all. Very nice breakfast buffet. The picnics the next day prepared by the hotel were appreciated by all the hikers. A very good value for money.

The hotel is substandard in many areas. The staff, both hotel and restaurant, are unfriendly, even rather rude. The breakfast, which is only open until 9am on weekdays, is not properly replenished. For example, scrambled eggs at 8am (!) is out of the question! Too late... We were told that it was not possible to reserve a meal that evening. When passing the restaurant between 7:00 PM and 8:15 PM, it turned out that the place was anything but full (nobody!!) ... Is there no desire to work? Who knows... When making up the room, the used towels are not replaced by clean ones. You will be presented with the used version again. To make matters worse, you also encounter an 'animal'... No, thank you... never here again!
