Protea Hotel Entebbe

Nice and clean room. Hotel has a Chinese restaurant which was excellent. Being in the main business district I thought it would be noisy, but it was not at all. Great hotel if you want to be in the central business district, good views too.

Staffs were friendly and helpful, comfortable bed. Amazing lake view and outdoor areas. We'll maintained gym and pool area. Book early, always full

We stayed here for one night before a flight and it was exactly what we needed. The hotel is just 3 minutes from the airport with a 24-hour shuttle, which made everything super easy. The room was basic and not particularly modern, but very clean. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was a nice bonus, with a few solid options to start the day. While on-site, we booked a boat tour to the equator through Gloria’s company (based at the hotel), and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! Highly recommend if you’re looking for something easy, convenient, and friendly near Lake Victoria

We stayed 2 nights for our arrival and departure from Entebbe airport to Bwindi. Hotel is located about a 5 mins drive from terminal but can get chaotic at the carpark and security screening. Simple basic hotel and do not get your expectations too high although this is a Marriott chain. Basic toiletries. The hotel has a great view of Lake Victoria. The hotel is still undergoing construction and some noise can be heard near the swimming pool area during the day. Wanted to do a massage but closes at 6.30pm, a bit early for a hotel. Peaceful sleep but can get busy at times since most people flying in and out of Entebbe stay at this hotel. The hotel is not carpeted, and tiles are used mostly and create lots of noises from the luggage wheels or housekeeping trolleys. We had breakfast and dinner at Tides restaurant. Both were good. Breakfast was the standard offering. For dinner we chose something local as this is Uganda (they do very good curries and basmati rice) and we had the pork ribs with French fries. Both were very tasty and reasonably price for hotel offering (2 main courses and 2 drinks for us$36). Staff were pleasant and helpful.
