During our visit in May 2024, our family had a great time and the hotel was great. With an interesting history, the hotel is family-run. It was reachable on foot, and both Mount Brunni and the bus stop were nearby. In the quaint village where it is located, the sounds of the distinctive Swiss cowbells greet us every morning. The hotel only offered breakfast, but it was excellent. Since we had to make last-minute changes to our plans, the owners were kind enough to reschedule our visit at no additional expense to us. The nearby Schweizerhaus restaurant is great for meals, but it gets busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. Note: The hotel does not have a lift.

The hotel is perfectly positioned, for our family anyway. It’s situated a short 10 min stroll from town however if that doesn’t appeal, you can catch the free bus service from the train station - No.300 bus We walked into town daily. The rooms were very comfortable and the beds were great. We stayed in the quadruple room that was spacious enough for the the 4 of us. The views however were spectacular from our 3 windows. The buffet breakfast included a selection of cereals and breads, cold meats and cheeses, yogurts, fruit and scrambled eggs. The view from the breakfast room was amazing as well. I felt it also important to note that the hosts are fantastic, they will go above and beyond to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Until next time Hostatt! Thank you.

We had the best stay- it was a quiet area, relaxing and we enjoyed the location and hotel. We felt welcomed and we had two kids with us- a baby and 6 year old. There was a playground for the kids, the room was clean, wi-fi was great and an amazing breakfast. Parking was easy and the peaceful secluded area was amazing. We will be back.

The welcome was very good and with a smile. The beautiful and spacious rooms. Breakfast, the best I've had yet. Sandwiches prepared for our hikes at an unbeatable price. Super quiet, because not in the center of the town but 15 minutes walk away. Hotel recommendation for our excellent and high-class meals (Zum Schweizerhaus) 5 minutes from the hotel.

Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt im Hotel Garni Hostatt in Engelberg sehr genossen. Alle im Hotel sind super nett und freundlich. Sie plaudern gerne, geben nützliche Tipps und Informationen und sorgen dafür, dass der Aufenthalt angenehm ist. Es gab fast jeden Nachmittag ein Gewitter und die Gastgeber haben uns beim Frühstück immer vorgewarnt, wann die Wanderungen zu Ende sind usw. Auch das Frühstück ist sehr lecker, und sie gehen auf vernünftige Ernährungseinschränkungen ein. Insgesamt würde ich dieses Hotel für einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in Engelberg sehr empfehlen.
