Great value for money! The food is great. The chalet has everything you need. I would definitely come back.

It was our 5th time on Maldives, first time in Embudu. Great location, best coral reef. Not far from Male and easy to come, especially in case airplane delay, as we had. Great services, everybody so nice, kind and helpful. Thanks to MD Hossain, our waiter and all other that made our holiday so relax.

This was my fifth visit to this lovely island having not been here for about seven years, it was going to be interesting to see how the place has changed in that time. Collection from Male via speedboat was swift and seamless and we arrived on a lovely sunny Christmas Eve ready to start our adventure. I had E Mailed ahead to ask for a room in a particular position and we were placed in room 78 which was absolutely perfect for us, little bit of foliage in front of the room and a nice little cove and beach maybe five steps away from the terrace. With the addition of a sea wall there is now a good beach on this side with very soft sand, its actually pretty well done so far as sea walls go and we spent all our time here. The rooms here are simple, a good size and perfectly adequate , no frills but everything that you need. The beds are super hard but I don't mind that, there is no TV but I don't mind that either. They are kept spotlessly clean by your room boy and water is topped up each day as needed. Nice large bathroom with a good shower, I was more than pleased with my choice. As we arrived on Christmas Eve, we were treated to the gala dinner, wow!!, so much choice , the chefs must have worked very hard indeed to produce such an amazing array of beautiful dishes - we just didn't know where to start. I didn't take a photo of the Christmas Eve menu but I have included a photo of the New Years Eve menu which is very similar. On a daily basis the food is really very good, I have always found the food good at Embudu but they have definitely improved over the years, much more choice now with the curries the star of the show. The island was a mass of tiny Christmas lights - absolutely stunning . There is always the thorny issue of table sharing at Embudu but to date I have never had to table share, the restaurant has been painted ( as has the bar and reception area ) since the last visit and now looks so much brighter. The waiting staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble - a credit to the island. The bar is also much brighter now and the team that work there are friendly and professional , some same faces here as throughout the island, makes me think that this is a great place to live and work. The alcohol is branded and whilst I mostly don't drink, I made good use of the lovely mocktails. The decking area is a lovely place to chill and watch the sun go down, it was pretty hot when we were there so it was a nice place to sit after our evening meal too. We snorkeled on our first day but due to rather ill health, we did not snorkel again this holiday. The coral reef on the water bungalow side looks very poorly now, I'm afraid and there is a complete lack of baby sharks ( no nightly rays either ) that used to patrol the shallows so frequently. In fact the water goes out so far now on that side that the coral is daily exposed. We met some lovely people on our last day who have visited here 27 times and counting and they were informed b

One word ……. STUNNING!! The staff were friendly and always on hand for anything you needed. The back bungalow was 5 metres from a beautiful small beach which lead onto the house reef where any number of marine wildlife could be found. To have reef sharks swimming around your feet whilst paddling was a hell of an experience. The Stingray City tour was less Stingray and more Nurse Shark which was even more of a breathtaking experience, particularly as you can often see the rays around the boat jetty. Food was varied and great quality. Thank you to all who made our week a holiday of a lifetime

The vacation felt like a dream. The nature there is incredible – we saw baby sharks right from our balcony and on the beach. There were so many types of fish and coral, all visible just by snorkeling in shallow water, no need to go deep. The staff were incredibly friendly and always attentive, making sure we had everything we wanted. The food was amazing with a wide variety to choose from. If you enjoy trying different dishes and love cocktails, I highly recommend going all-inclusive. I recommend bringing your own snorkeling gear if you have it, but don’t worry if you don’t – you can rent everything there, even a GoPro. There’s no need to pack many shoes, as you’ll hardly wear them. Sand covers the entire island, and you’ll mostly be barefoot the whole time.

Perfect holiday if you want to just chill and unwind, it’s like paradise so chilled and laid back, we stayed in a water bungalow and it was lovely and clean, it got cleaned everyday, new clean towels and beach towels everyday if you wanted them changed.food was nice and hot, and something different everyday. Beach was clean and tidy, also plenty of sunbed dotted all over the island, even in secluded places, wasn’t crowded at all. The bar staff were so lovely and pleasant, especially kamal nothing was to much trouble, always as a smile on his face ( lovely kid) It felt like paradise to us perfect chilled holiday, thank you embudu

For a 3* resort this is great value for money. Highlights: 1. the staff are exceptional, restaurant, bar, main desk, cleaning & spa. They really can’t do enough for you! 2. Sea life, the reefs around the island and teeming with fish and sharks, you don’t have to snorkel far from the main jetty to see a nurse shark! So much to see and so close to the beach. The food was really tasty, in my opinion there’s enough choice without going overboard. The menu rotates each week, with themes every night. My only area of feedback would be that perhaps having some cold meats at the salad bar at lunchtime would have been a good option if you didn’t fancy a hot meal and wanted some protein. But really the food was fantastic. We stayed in a beach bungalow, yes it’s basic and a little outdated, but the rooms are clean (& cleaned every day) and comfortable. We’re never in the room unless to sleep/wash really so this didn’t bother us, there’s a safe which is free to use, towels changed regularly and beach towels are provided also. We did get an upgrade for our last day to the water bungalows and it really was stunning, highly recommend if you can afford to or get the chance to experience it! Thanks again for giving us this wonderful experience! We stayed all inclusive and again the options for the bar were ample. Draught beer or cans, house wines (bottled) a selection of cocktails and all fizzy drinks are in cans, the only beverage on draught is the beer which was decent too. We did treat ourselves to a cocktail from the main menu a couple of nights, the bar staff really enjoyed the theatrics of the flaming Lamborghini! The island is about 20 minutes from Male airport but it was still really quiet and peaceful, there was the odd plane going past and a few sea planes every day but honestly not noisy or disruptive like some comments I’ve read suggest. We used the dive school, again all very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to give suggestions on where best to snorkel etc. My partner did his open water diving certificate and we also did the Sting Ray city, loads of sting rays and nurse sharks in the water when we went, highly recommend you give it a go! Spa: My daughter and I had a spa package and the treatments were fantastic, the massage was a new experience for us but very enjoyable. I think the spa could be better promoted, there’s 1 small plinth with a board on it just past reception, otherwise you maybe wouldn’t know it was there. To see the menu and prices you need to go round to the spa where they have folders in most languages to look through. Overall we had a fantastic time at Embudu and would highly recommend to anyone on a budget who enjoys exploring the waters or wants some diving.
