Days Inn by Wyndham Ellis

When we checked in...we were sent to a room that had a bed that was not made, and towels on the floor, and trash around the room...next sent to a higher floor that was apparently under construction...BUT definitely fine for the price.

Cost is always a criteria for me. Motels in Hays that were safe, inexpensive, (less than $100) and clean were over $200 this weekend because of graduations. I was forced to travel 22 miles to Ellis to find an affordable room. The only drawback, the shower didn't drain. Other than that, it was convenient to the interstate and fast food. I will stay again, I think I will no longer stay in Hays. Hays has become too crowded and busy.

I was disappointed with the breakfast; thought there might be something better than what was there. Not a great selection. Lack of a hair dryer was also disappointing, though the woman at the desk was so nice to try to find me one to borrow. Unfortunately the ones she had didn't work.

I said I would never stay at this property again but push came to shove and I knew what I was getting into. The property is average and the property needs to be updated. The bathroom was not entirely clean and the shower ******. The water collected in the tub even though the drain was fully open. The breakfast was subpar - eggs were old and bagel was stale. My doorkey never worked as the desk operator had to open my door by pulling the card out quickly and lifting the handle up and then down and up again. I could not replicate. I was in a room right at the entrance so the noise of the front doors (automated) opening and closing at night and early in the morning was hard not to hear. I guess you get what you get when you spend $76.

5 star experience! No problems whatsoever! We love this place! Quiet, reasonably priced, Continental breakfast, nice beds, in room coffee, clean bathrooms, wood floors!!
