Pretty venue, helpful staff but oh dear the facilities and food were poor. We stayed in one of the cottages and had to ask for soap and towels for the downstairs loo and kitchen, so basic hygiene not covered. The twin beds were very uncomfortable, possibly okay for small children but definitely not for adults. This was my nephews weekend wedding for which they will have paid through the nose for and the catering was dreadful. As a vegetarian there is really no excuse for serving unimaginative, bland and unseasoned food which it all was. I could go on but want to say buyers beware and read ALL the reviews as I am not alone in my experience.

We got married here on the 26th August and it is clear why the team at Ellingham have won so many awards. Their attention to detail was second to none and we left the venue feeling quite emotional as everything was so perfect. We arrived the night before and had a lovely BBQ Buffet with our closest family and friends. Then on the wedding day we literally didn't have to worry about a thing, everything was taken care of and we were free to enjoy our day together. All of our guests commented on the amazing venue, rooms and especially the food! An extra special mention to Debbie who we worked with throughout the entire year of planning, she is an absolute diamond. Also to Matt who on the day helped bring everything together seamlessly. You made our wedding day one we will never forget and for all of the right reasons. Thank you so much.

As the venue for my son's wedding I doubt we could have found a more perfect venue. From the first time we visited to look round we just knew this was going to be a first class experience. From our arrival to our departure we couldnt have recieved better treatment. Nothing was too much and all the staff seemed to go out of their way to ensure we enjoyed every minute. The food was excellent with substantial portions and plenty of choice. Accommodation was quality with extremely comfortable beds. We have nothing but praise for the staff and our stay over the 2 days.

We first visited in August 2023 with a view to getting married in December and were blown away by this amazing venue! As it turned out we could not marry in December but they were able to offer us a date in March which was above and beyond what they had to do! After another visit for the tasting our wedding went ahead in March and what an amazing couple of days we had. This is not just a one day wedding, there’s a meal for everyone the night before, accomodation for all guests for 2 nights and breakfast the day after the wedding. We had Wendy help us plan our wedding and absolutely everything was planned to a T so the wedding day went without a hitch. The hall itself is stunning, all of the rooms are beautiful and then there are cottages which are 5* plus!! All of our guests absolutely loved their accommodation, the food was to die for and the staff could not do enough. It’s no wonder David, Debbie and the team have won awards……..their wedding experience is THE BEST. It was also our granddaughters 2nd birthday so really was her day!!!…everyone made her day really special and Wendy even got her a gift. There are not enough superlatives to describe how amazing Ellingham Hall and the staff are, you will not find a better venue for your special day.

Very misleading as Apple Store is Not owned by Ellingham Hall Estate . The cottage is in a lovely setting, is Clean and functional, however the interior does not match the surroundings, it’s tired , and the decor outdated . Disappointing.

The Apple Store looks lovely from the outside , and is set in a lovely location. sadly the interior although clean could not hide the fact that it is tired and well worn. The decor did not match the beautiful countryside around about . . Won’t be returning.

Please allow me to spend a couple of minutes singing the praises of this exquisite wedding venue. If you choose to check my other reviews you will notice that I tend to post infrequently and only tend to put the outstanding ones on. Are you still here, thanks and let's go... I attended a wedding yesterday at this venue and within the lovely grounds. There are peacocks who happily mingle on the manicured lawns. The overall feeling of the venue is one of contemporary shine to a traditional family hall. Quirky (dog portraits etc) but nothing that didn’t fit sympathetically, and the loos were sparkling. The entire place was geared up for it making an unforgettable ceremony in a lovely setting. Weddings can be compromised by the food; not here. I have no idea how they manage to serve up 80 guests the lightest cheese soufflé with minimal delay, simultaneously with at the conclusion of speeches the duration the kitchen could not possibly predict. The main courses were equally beautifully presented and delivered with unfussy efficiency; I opted for a panna cotta to follow and it too was exquisite. This is a real cut above from the ordinary. After all entertaining your guests is one of the key facets of the day, then the venue must be on your list. Staff can make or break the event and I must say they were tremendous. Unobtrusive and yet very efficient. A nod to the attention to detail was the young lady who delivered the post photo drinks and stood by to ensure that guests got their correct choice. (she did make mention that she didn’t mix the drinks, but I advised her to take credit anyway). In no particular order then, great wedding venue, lovely staff, excellent food, bars with premium brand beverages, fantastic grounds, excellent PA system for the speeches, good parking – happy days guaranteed. Thanks for the opportunity!

My daughter and her husband got married on 5th February, what a fantastic weekend we had. We all arrived on Friday evening and from the off everything was first class, the setting, bar area, and our meal that night was very good. Our room was amazing (I know we had a bigger room than most) the wedding itself was very well organised by the very friendly staff, the meal was again first class, the evening dancing was enjoyed by all.So Ellingham Hall, well done, I hope we can back some time.

The wedding venue was nice and I think my family enjoyed it but I have to say the accommodation for guests is poor, I would go as far as to say it was a rip off. The bridal suite looked lovely however. My issue was with the guest bedrooms and facilities. Three rooms sharing a bathroom is not acceptable if you are charging £280 for 2 nights. No one was warned about this and for some of us with a medical issue this wasn't good. This was honestly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in and had I not been there for a wedding and not wanted to upset my family I would have have asked for a refund and left. Our bedroom door would not close it kept popping open. Paintwork was dark and shabby but was also in need of attention. The room was so dark and gloomy we could hardly see. Curtain rails hanging off and hard to open and close the windows. I have stayed in cheap budget hotels on business that are far superior to this. Not what I was expecting. Maybe they don't expect people would dare to complain for fear of upsetting their families. Breakfast on day of wedding was one sausage sandwich take it or leave it that was all you were getting and there was no choice. It tasted horrible. I asked for something else but was told they could not offer me anything and made me feel it was my fault - I should have asked for a vegetarian breakfast. We were very hungry indeed as the food was not served until late afternoon. The next morning when we were leaving there was a full breakfast served and it was excellent, lots of choice. It would have been better if we could have had that in the morning of the wedding which was a long tiring day for some of us oldies, rather than as we were leaving. Our keys were just dumped on a table when we arrived. There is no signage to tell you where to pick up keys and no signs for reception as there isn't one. It was disorganised. The facilities downstairs were good although the bar wasn't well stocked- no Rose Zindafel just prosecco or gin really take it or leave it. I think the couple getting married really enjoyed their wedding and that is the main thing but personally I really hated the room we were given and felt ripped off by the hotel.
