The Postcard Velha, Goa

Tucked away in a quaint location, this Postcard property promises you days of complete bliss. After having experienced the heart-winning hospitality of the Postcard team once, we wanted to treat ourselves again for the special occasion of our anniversary, and let me tell you, every penny spent here is completely worth it because you really are treated like royalty. The staff is always around when you need them but never intrusive. They will go above and beyond to fulfil your requests and they’ll do it all with a smile. The doors don’t need to be locked, the mind doesn’t need to be on an overdrive and your doesn’t need to be overstimulated because everything you want and need is just one call away. You’ll feel like it’s your own house where all you need to do is relax and unwind with the beautiful view of the Mandovi river, humming to the songs of the birds, sipping on your favourite drink. The cherry on top is their spa treatments that will take away all of your soreness and leave you feeling like ten years younger than when you walked it. If you are planning to visit this property then I would surely advise you to not plan any thing in advance and just go enjoy the property at the fullest. Properties like these deserve all your attention and give you so much to go back with. Enjoy your anytime breakfast, check-out at your own comfort and pamper yourself with their lovely spa choices. This is how life should be lived at a time where time has become a luxury. My heartfelt thanks to The Postcard team for showing us the best time. We cannot wait to explore more properties by them!

Our best holiday stays.. We stayed at the Postcard for six nights and boy what a relaxing holiday it was.. For us, everything was perfect. Right from the easy check in and check out process to the food, hositality and the lovely ambience that the Postcard Velha provides. Mr. Devansh and his team are wonderful hosts.. They provided the best hospitality that we have ever exeprienced.. The room, amenities, comfy bed were also a star.. We wanted a relaxing stay and Postcard Velha exceeded our expectation.. We will definately return to this wonderful property..

This was our third Postcard hotel on our trip and it complemented the others perfectly. After the beaches of southern Goa and the wilderness of Netravali wildlife sanctuary the historic charm of Old Goa and shopping in the capital Panjim rounded off a great trip. The property is located in a quiet hilltop enclave a few minutes from Old Goa. With six rooms spread over two colonial style villas and ample grounds it was luxurious and exclusive. We spent most of our time there in the two garden dinning areas, having breakfast and dinner and chatting to other guests over drinks. We were visited daily by a large kingfisher and delighted in watching the exotic long tailed birds cooling off in the afternoon heat by diving into the pool. Shashwat and his team were exemplary, friendly, polite and attentive without disturbing our privacy. They made sure we had everything we needed and were so helpful in arranging taxis to and from our various outings. The chefs provided us with some of the best meals of our trip, particularly the Goan fish curry, and the waiters produced excellent fruit juices and Gin & tonics with basil and orange. The hotel policies of anytime check in/check out and anytime breakfast are unique in our experience and they should be congratulated for truly putting guests first. We were able to stay until 2030 on our last day and have a lovely dinner before heading to the airport, which ended our trip on a high note. We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel, a perfect old fashioned luxury experience.

Postcard Velha is unlike any hotel I’ve experienced. Truly exceptional. The building and gardens are undoubtably stunning, however it’s the staff that make this place really magical. Every tiny detail was thoughtfully considered, and every request met with a cheerful “certainly, sir.” The team were friendly, warm, and attentive — always available without being overbearing. Our room was impeccably serviced twice daily, with handwritten notes and favours left each evening. The food was extraordinary. We were lucky enough to have chef Creighton prepare most of our meals. He took the time to talk to us daily about the menu and tailored every dish to our preference. He introduced us to many authentic Goan dishes, which we were absolutely delighted with. Without fail every meal was delicious, and, beautifully presented. Good food is our life, so this was an absolute highlight for us. I’ve not experienced food of this calibre and such a personalised experience at any hotel before. When we left, the team surprised us with a bag of our favourite coffee blend, flown in just for us because they knew we wanted some. Our experience at Velha was so incredible that we changed hotels for the final four days of our honeymoon and booked in to Postcard Cuelim, which did not disappoint! Honestly, we’re so grateful to Creighton, Ritvik, Shashwat, Nishu, Baiju, Franklin, and the rest of the team for making our honeymoon so magical - an extraordinary team and an extraordinary hotel. We can’t wait to return!

I write this review while sipping on my coffee and enjoying a bit of home-made cumin flavoured biscuits from Postcard Velha, which was packed with so much care. Postcard Velha stands more for experience than a hotel. You experience home, the staff become people you have daily conversations and laugh with and tend to you with the utmost care. Although the property had other families staying, the rooms are located in a way that you have your privacy. The rooms are beautifully designed and equipped with nostalgic elements. Every corner, you would see how much care and attention went into things. We would like to thank the staff again, for their care and love that really touched our hearts, and made the trip extra special. Postcard Velha is the place to be, on rainy Goan days, or otherwise... it got us the peace we need and memories we will carry on forever.
