The Postcard Velha, Goa

What an extraordinary project the Postcard hotels is. After 2 nights at the Postcard Hideaway at Netravali, I expected the 'city' Postcard Velha to be less verdant and city-encroached. It turned out to be my private villa in a remote location... unbelievably private, beautiful manicured gardens, stunning view of the Mandovi river in the distance and the unforgettable breakfasts in the gazebo on the elevated platform.

We really enjoyed our 2 days at the Postcard Velha, such a beautiful place. We really enjoyed the food, the rooms, the tranquility and the very attentive staff. The manager was outstandingly attentive and helped us with everything we needed. We also had a massage which was of very high quality

This was our third Postcard hotel on our trip and it complemented the others perfectly. After the beaches of southern Goa and the wilderness of Netravali wildlife sanctuary the historic charm of Old Goa and shopping in the capital Panjim rounded off a great trip. The property is located in a quiet hilltop enclave a few minutes from Old Goa. With six rooms spread over two colonial style villas and ample grounds it was luxurious and exclusive. We spent most of our time there in the two garden dinning areas, having breakfast and dinner and chatting to other guests over drinks. We were visited daily by a large kingfisher and delighted in watching the exotic long tailed birds cooling off in the afternoon heat by diving into the pool. Shashwat and his team were exemplary, friendly, polite and attentive without disturbing our privacy. They made sure we had everything we needed and were so helpful in arranging taxis to and from our various outings. The chefs provided us with some of the best meals of our trip, particularly the Goan fish curry, and the waiters produced excellent fruit juices and Gin & tonics with basil and orange. The hotel policies of anytime check in/check out and anytime breakfast are unique in our experience and they should be congratulated for truly putting guests first. We were able to stay until 2030 on our last day and have a lovely dinner before heading to the airport, which ended our trip on a high note. We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel, a perfect old fashioned luxury experience.

We recently stayed at this property and had such a wonderful time there. Although we stayed only for a day but wished we stayed longer. The hospitality is amazing and feels so personal. Right from the moment we stepped in we were greeted with such warm smiles. They even customized a welcome drink for our 3.5yr old daughter. Their food was delicious and the spa was so relaxing. Their staff is courteous and kind and there was always someone to attend to us. The property is not big but it’s beautiful and very well maintained. It’s far from the beach so car hire or a cab is recommended. There rooms are aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommended for a quiet relaxing time. Would love to visit again

Tucked away in a quaint location, this Postcard property promises you days of complete bliss. After having experienced the heart-winning hospitality of the Postcard team once, we wanted to treat ourselves again for the special occasion of our anniversary, and let me tell you, every penny spent here is completely worth it because you really are treated like royalty. The staff is always around when you need them but never intrusive. They will go above and beyond to fulfil your requests and they’ll do it all with a smile. The doors don’t need to be locked, the mind doesn’t need to be on an overdrive and your doesn’t need to be overstimulated because everything you want and need is just one call away. You’ll feel like it’s your own house where all you need to do is relax and unwind with the beautiful view of the Mandovi river, humming to the songs of the birds, sipping on your favourite drink. The cherry on top is their spa treatments that will take away all of your soreness and leave you feeling like ten years younger than when you walked it. If you are planning to visit this property then I would surely advise you to not plan any thing in advance and just go enjoy the property at the fullest. Properties like these deserve all your attention and give you so much to go back with. Enjoy your anytime breakfast, check-out at your own comfort and pamper yourself with their lovely spa choices. If you are looking for quiet solitude, personalised service, and pampering; this is the place for it. This was our first experience in a Postcard property and we came away highly impressed. The room was large, with a sit-out overlooking the Madovi river at a distance, and yet very cozy as well as very well furnished. This is not a property for someone looking for action or the beach. While the menu is limited, they are always prepared to go beyond and dish out whatever your heart desires. Everything we ate was extremely delicious. The attention given to guests is truly amazing. this property has two rooms spread over two villas and since there were only four guests on one day and only us thereafter all our needs were taken acre of. Their spa is also amazing and Tenzin, the young lady therapist was highly skilled and took notice of our individual requirements. Shashwat, the manager, was also always available to take care of guest's needs.
