Best Hotels near Market Place, Elkridge

We decided to explore all of Maryland so we need a home base. Elkridge was central to many of the locations we wanted to visit. So being that we are ihg members we chose this hotel. The front desk staff was kind & courteous. The rooms and main hotel were clean. The breakfast was well done. They served coffee, cocoa, a variety of juices, bagels, toast, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal (not instant packs - fresh), sausage, bacon and omelets. Our son loved the pool. It was small but served its purpose. Our only negative was that the shower didn't have much pressure.

We were stranded at BWI due to flight issues. The staff was amazing to me and my children from the shuttle driver to the front desk clerk! We were tired and anxious to get some rest. We were checked in quickly with a smile! The shuttle was on time the next morning. So after a great breakfast, we were on the way to the airport.

The Comfort Suites chain is supposed to be entirely smoke free, but as soon as we walked into our room, we encountered an overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. The worst we have ever smelled in a hotel room. My husband went to the front desk to ask about moving to a different room, and the employee said that because we booked through a third party, he couldn’t do anything. He treated my husband like a second class citizen and said if we had a problem, we could go across the street to the Holiday Inn! So rude! My husband then asked to speak to the manager. The employee said the manager left at 3:00, so we’d have to wait until tomorrow. Apparently, the manager very conveniently leaves by 3:00, which is the earliest anyone can check in. My husband then asked for Febreeze or something to cover the unbearable cigarette smell. The employee said that housekeeping had already left for the day, (again…convenient) but he had a little bit of “smoke odor eliminator” left in a spray bottle that we could use. I sprayed it all over the room, we opened the door, cranked the AC and a ceiling fan to air the room out. There were cigarette burns in the curtains, and both chairs, so this room has obviously been smoked in, even though they claim it is a nonsmoking room, hotel and chain. Also, we did not book a jacuzzi room, but this room had one in the main living area, and it was broken. The headboard on the bed had grimy handprints all over it, so we really didn’t want to lay our heads by that! Changing hotels was not on option, because it was Memorial Day weekend, and everything was either fully booked or triple the price. My husband then called Hotels.com from our room to see if they could help. They called the desk and negotiated to get us a refund for one of our 2 nights there, which we appreciated. While my husband was still on his phone with the very friendly Hotels.com rep, the front desk employee called the room telephone, so I answered. He wanted the spray bottle back! I asked if he would bring some cleaning solution so I could clean the headboard! He came up to the room and brought disinfectant wipes for ME to clean the headboard, and he took pictures of it and took pictures of all the cigarette burns. Now to address breakfast. I specifically called ahead of time to ask what they offer for breakfast. My husband is borderline diabetic and can’t have breads and sweets. They said they always have eggs and breakfast meats. Great…we knew we could enjoy their breakfast amenity! On Sunday morning, we were at breakfast by 8:30am and they were out of eggs and there were only a few sausage links left. I asked the breakfast attendant when they would bring out more, and she said they would not be resupplying them. They were completely out, and there was still an hour of breakfast service left at a completely booked hotel! Monday morning they were out of both eggs and sausage! Thirdly, I’ll address parking. Easy stay very complimentary it’s services very friendly staff the amenities were top notch and it was definitely worth the amount it cost I definitely look forward to staying again and would suggest this location to anyone who wants to have a relaxing evening

It's beautiful, clean and modern, but not one you'll want to stay at if you have an early morning flight. We didn't know the shuttle didn't start until 7 am (odd) or we would've booked another hotel. When you have other travelers complaining about this, you may want to reconsider your hours. PRO'S: I will say the lobby and room were beautiful modern eye candy. It was clean, the bathroom luxurious, the bed like a dreamy pillow and the staff courteous. We only spent about 6 hours there, so not enough time to try the food, breakfast or the gym- which looked upscale with many machines and weights. CON'S: As others have mentioned, the halls can be NOISY. We should've known something was up when we had to sign a disclaimer upon check in that we wouldn't have a party in the room. A first! Having said that, the walls/door seem to be a bit thin. The drunken people heading to their rooms at 2 am sounded like they were in our room as they passed. A total bummer when you have to leave for the airport via Lyft ($30) at 4:15 am . Here's a thought: Maybe one hallway on the top floor could be reserved for airport travelers or those requesting quiet rooms (since you're an airport hotel?). That way you can ensure your patrons a good night's sleep. Fellow WHITE NOISE LOVERS? For those that depend on a hotel's thermostat to have a constantly running fan option, this does not. Again odd, as we rarely run into this with hotels. The fan will turn off when the temp is reached, leaving you susceptible to any hallway noise. It would be great if you had a few portable fans available or even one tucked in each room like you do hairdryers. Also, if you're a hot sleeper in July's heat you cannot adjust the AC to any lower than 64 degrees. Will we stay there again? Perhaps if we don't need an early shuttle and ask for a quiet room. I hope the management will consider these comments, because this hotel could be amazing if it addressed a few areas.

The hotel is small, but the sanitation is very good, and the breakfast is also good. The parking lot is across the road. You can park your car at the entrance of the hotel to check in. I thought it was 5 yuan to park, but when I left, I realized that it was 5 yuan to leave at 6 am. , we left at 10 and paid $18 for parking, the room had a fridge, no microwave.

I looked at all the BWI airport hotels carefully before booking, and decided that the Westin was probably the best. Now having stayed there I'm pretty sure I was right. The place is clean and modern, with a spacious lobby and updated design in the rooms. The blackout curtains are some of the best I've ever seen: I woke up at 8:30am convinced it was still the middle of the night. The bathroom has a great shower, was clean and fully stocked with towels. Really everything I could have asked for.

check in was a bit of a wait with the computers down but the staff was very professional and did their best to get everyone checked in as fast as they could. I've stayed at spring hill in Annapolis but I must say the Columbia location was better. The room was perfect and the bed so comfortable. And of course a great breakfast

Booked a room for one night on July 2 - hoping for a clean place for my family of four to sleep before early travel from BWI the next morning. This property fell short of expectations. Check in lacked hospitality. There was no Front Desk agent at the desk when we walked in to the lobby. One came out when he heard our voices in the lobby. No greeting - he just asked for my name and to validate the last four digits of my credit card for the booking. Didn't check my ID before handing my keys over. We were given an accessible, pet friendly room on the first floor, even though none of us require accessibility options, and were not traveling with any pets. As soon as we opened the door, my husband commented that the room smelled like a kennel. You could definitely tell that previous guests had stayed with their pets in the room. If you have respiratory issues I recommend avoiding any of the pet friendly rooms at this location - the smell was so overpowering that it was hard to breathe and sleep comfortably. Save for when I was sleeping, I wore my flip flops the entire time I was in the room. The carpet carried the pet urine smell, particularly in the main area. There was a scent of carpet cleaner overlaying the stench, hinting that they may have tried clean the carpet -- lots of foreign substances on the floor that I did not want touching my bare feet. Last, the accessible room was not a good option for a family traveling with two kids 7 and under. The bathroom layout does not include a walled in shower or bathtub. The shower has a chair for mobility impaired guests. However, this makes it so the entire bathroom floor gets wet when you use it, making it very very easy to slip and fall. Our youngest slipped and fell when he was making his way out of the bathroom. Thankfully he was walking slowly -- but had he been running, he could have experienced a bad fall. The one star is for the location -- we could not get out of there fast enough, and left for the airport at 4:30 in the morning. The property is a 10 minute drive to BWI.
