I'm not much for writing reviews but I had to express my appreciation for such a great front desk staff (Kev and Stella). This is my second visit and both experiences were stellar in comparison to other area hotels. It's a very clean facility and the vibe is pretty positive.

We had two rooms and stayed two nights. Highlights: -Hotel is in a quiet and a calm location -Rooms were spacious and comfortable(all rooms are suites) -Plenty of free parking available -Small swimming pool but perfect for kids -Check-in process was smooth and the staff were very friendly/courteous -Did not get to try the club lounge as it was a weekend(breakfast vouchers were given that could be used at the restaurant for Bonvoy members) -Housekeeping on demand only(front desk made it clear at the time of check-in) -If you like running/walking outdoors, go to the Busse Forest trails nearby and enjoy the trail for several miles. There is also an Elk pasture and you can see the Elk’s up close. There are also stretches of sidewalks in the neighborhood, you can use. Enjoy your workout! A big shout out to Arsenia for checking us quickly and taking care of all our room requirements. She was very friendly, quick and assisted us with local information as well. Opportunities: One of the elevator was out of order and other one was very slow. Overall, great stay and we will return next time we are in the area.
Best Western OHare North/Elk Grove Hotel

We stayed at this Best Western during our family vacation to Chicago (Sun July 31, 2022 to Thurs. Aug. 4, 2022). We stay exclusively at Best Westerns when they are available where we are traveling to on vacation. My husband who travels a lot for work also exclusively stays at Best Westerns, is a Diamond Select Rewards Member. We are loyal Best Western customers, which is what made this experience so disappointing. When my husband checked us in he asked the clerk on duty if our room had 2 Queen beds and was told yes. We got up to our room and there were 2 Double Beds. On our way to dinner we questioned the clerk again and he claimed to have misheard my husband saying that he thought that my husband had said 2 nights, and that this Best Western only had King or Double Beds. We said ok and asked if it was possible to get a cot, and were informed that they don't have ANY cots. Frustrated at this point my husband grabbed the card for the manager and we went to dinner. While at dinner I realized that the clerk saying he was confirming that we were staying for 2 nights, didn't make any sense as we were staying 4 nights. We get back to the hotel from dinner and I ask the clerk for 2 extra sets of towels as there weren't enough towels in the room for all of my family to shower, 2 extra blankets for my kids and an extra pillow. I was told the towels were no problem and he could get me the pillow, but there was a limit of 1 extra blanket per room. I muttered you have got to be kidding me under my breath, and I'm sure the clerk could tell I was very annoyed at this point. He handed me the towles and then asked me to follow him to the laundry room for the pillow and blanket. He wound up giving me a second blanket, which I was grateful for as it allowed us to make up a bed for my son on the ottoman he wanted to sleep on. The next three nights were uneventful. When we were leaving we decided to use a luggage cart to load all of our belongings onto so that we didn't have to make multiple trips between our room and car. My husband was pushing the luggage cart and while going down the handicap part of the curb accidently bumped the hotel shuttle. The shuttle driver went ballistic threatening to kick my husband's butt and stepping into my husband's personal space. My husband raised his voice and said, ”Listen here, I have spent more money at this company in the last year then you make. Back off.” My husband fully admits that this wasn't his best moment. After we got the car loaded my husband took the cart back, he took pictures of the ”damage” a tiny dent that was barely noticable and went to speak with the manager out the incident. The manager thanked my husband for his honesty and told him that the shuttle driver would be written up for his behavior. He was very pleased with how the manager handled the situation. We will never be staying at this location again, and strongly recommend that no one else stays here either.

Checked in 7.23.22 and checked out the following morning, asking for a full refund on the two 2 queen rooms for 2 nights that I rented. The reason we chose this hotel is it was affordable. Now, normally I check everything down to the sheets, last night we got there late so I did a once over and found mold on the bathroom door. My husband took a shower last night and the handle to the bathtub fell off! We called and reported that immediately as we didn't want to get charged, the front desk clerk was aware of this already. This morning I noticed mold in the bathroom, in a couple different spots when I showered, and bug bites on my arm and legs. So that was the last straw for me but the biggest surprise was when I went to wake my daughter up. I pulled back the blankets all the way and the sheets were brown and disgusting. Down to the fitted sheet. I immediately contacted the front desk to have the issue resolved, the manager took responsibility for the conditions of the bathroom but the bed she blamed on my child. Nail in coffin, honey get everything in the truck. It's not funny but let's not have a bad day because of bad service. This is unacceptable from a hotel because of the world we are living in today. Coronavirus is still a thing and monkey pox has been spreading in the area, I don't feel like this hotel is doing their part in preventing illnesses from being spread. On top of that, she refused to discount the second room because we ”didn't complain about the second room” and only gave back half the money for the room we complained about ”because we still got some rest”. Instead of arguing we took what we can get. Why check the second room which is right next to ours, I expected same results. Told my honey, leave it to me next time lol. Seriously, I wouldn't give them a dime and Im reporting it. All the rooms should be inspected before staying. Bring your own linen if you absolutely must stay here and beware of the creepy crawlers.

Stayed here for a dance event in the suburbs of Chicago. I was a bit worried by past reviews, but it turned out to exceed expectations: PROS 1. Check-in and check-out: I had to book 4 rooms for my group, so a bit more complicated logistically. The staff were very friendly and helpful once I arrived to help sort things out. Checkout was very easy. 2. The room itself: It was clean, comfortable bed, and fast Internet. No frills, but bathroom had lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and little soap for hand washing/showering. AC worked well. Gets natural light. No roaches or visible mold. 3. Parking - free and feels safe even though it's not particularly ”close” to anything. 4. Price point - by far the most cost-effective option for hotels in Elk Grove. CONS 1. Fan in the bathroom - glad there's ventilation of some kind, but it seemed kind of finicky and would turn on and off at will. It was hard to figure out how to turn it on and off. 2. Breakfast - glad it exists! Free coffee, bagels, instant oatmeal packs, and apples. I wish they didn't use styrofoam and that there was a *little bit more* available. 3. Transportation: If you're coming here by car, no issues. Also, Ubers in the area are not super expensive and come pretty quickly (unless it's to/from the airport - then it's $20-30! :O). However, there is no shuttle to/from the airport. It seems like there's a local bus stop (?) but didn't try it. You could potentially take a shuttle to/from another hotel and walk 10 minutes, but it's on a 4-6 lane, busy road. Overall, we had a great stay and it served our purposes of having an inexpensive and clean place to sleep during our dance festival in Elk Grove. Would stay here again for sure!
