My experience was excellent at the Louis Apostolata Spa Resort. The Staff was really nice and helpful. Starting with the Director of the Hotel to the Metre at the Restaurant Dimos (one of the nicest persons you could meet & always smiling & making you welcome) to the Staff at Reception: Nikiforos (such a nice & efficient boy), Maria (such a nice girl), all of them to the people working at the Restaurant (very friendly & helpful). I had such a lovely time at the Louis Apostolata Spa Resort. I was feeling like at Home. Many thanks from the bottom of my heart.

This was our third time back (last visit 2021) and once again we had a fantastic stay. If you’re looking for a chavvy atmosphere, fighting for sunbeds, loud music, English breakfasts and no movement beyond the pool bar – this isn’t the place for you. But if you want warm service, stunning views, good food and a relaxed Greek holiday, you’ll love it. 1. Staff The staff are the heart of this hotel. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely can’t do enough for you. Many of them are working from breakfast through to dinner most days – how many of us do those hours with a smile? They really deserve credit, and a tip goes a long way in showing appreciation. As with anywhere, you get back what you put in re service. Basically, don’t be an A hole. 2. Food & All-Inclusive Fresh, varied and plenty of healthy options, with some excellent desserts too. The buffet changes each night and repeats weekly, which was perfect for our 10-night stay. Breakfasts had everything from fresh fruit and yoghurt to omelettes, pastries, cheeses and hot dishes. Lunch and dinner were always plentiful, with grilled fish, meats, Greek dishes and lighter options too. We stayed all-inclusive and are so glad we did. All meals, drinks, pool snacks and even an afternoon ice cream were included. The local drinks were absolutely fine — and yes, cocktails were included too! It was great value, and while we did eat out a few times in Skala, having everything on hand at the hotel made life so easy. If you need food with pictures to choose from, maybe not for you – but my 11-year-old had no issues at 3. Location Yes, it’s up a hill – but that’s why you get those amazing views. You can’t really walk anywhere in the evening, but taxis are cheap and easy. We even walked to Skala beach one morning (about 4km), which was a lovely way to see the coastline. 4. Steps There are stairs, but also lifts and buggies for those who need them. For us, no problem. If you can’t manage 50 steps, that’s not the hotel’s fault. 5. Pool Huge, with beautiful views across the sea, and loads of sun loungers. We never once had to rush down or fight for a spot. And if you’re the type who reserves a lounger all day and then disappears – honestly, grow up. 6. Sea Swimming & Snorkelling One of the best-kept secrets is the little sea swimming area down below the hotel. Steps take you straight into the water – crystal clear, calm, and perfect for snorkelling. We saw so many fish and loved our early morning swims. If you’re someone who enjoys the sea as much as the pool, this is a huge highlight. 7. Entertainment Lenny and Peter work hard and bring a lovely energy to the place. They’re not pushy – no pressure to join in – but if you give something a go you might actually enjoy it. The evening shows and activities were light and fun, and never intrusive. 8. Spa & Gym I had a lovely massage at the spa – really relaxing and well worth it. The gym is basic but functional, with cardio machines and weights. Perfectly fine fo

Beautiful sea view, amazing pool, love it! The size of the pool is a bonus. We have a brilliant time. Food is good. I would be happy to return again.

Behind the stunning views lies terrible food, lazy housekeeping, and staff who couldn’t care less — not 5-star by any stretch. The only 5-star feature was the view from our room, which was stunning. Everything else fell far short. The food was awful. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style, but even for buffet food it was poor, we ate out most nights. The pool bar menu wasn’t any better, some of the worst food I’ve ever had in Greece. Staff were friendly but hopeless. Forgetful, slow, and uninterested. Ordering a drink felt like chasing down a taxi. On three nights we sat at the rooftop bar and gave up after being ignored—the staff just stood around chatting. Service was worse than I’ve had in 3-star hotels. Housekeeping was lazy. Sheets were often just remade, not changed. The balcony was cleaned once in 10 nights. Bathroom bin often left full. Nowhere near 5-star standards. Maintenance was ignored. Two hallway spotlights were out for our entire stay despite asking three times. Aircon only fixed after repeated phone calls and visits to reception. Entertainment was dreadful. Every night at 9:30pm sharp the same kids’ disco blasted out until 11:30pm. Songs on repeat (Baby Shark every night). We were in a room below and the thudding made it impossible to sleep. Complaints were dismissed. It felt more like a cheap holiday park than a luxury hotel. The convenience store was overpriced—at nearly €4 for a chocolate bar or bag of crisps—and opened at random hours. Nearly double than anywhere else in Kefalonia. Another sour note. Kefalonia itself is beautiful and we made the best of our trip, but this hotel was a huge disappointment. We won’t be returning.

Couple in 50s. From the moment we arrived there was nothing to complain about. The food was great loved the soups, all meals and pool bar food, pizza was spot on. And yes there is a lot of steps but we managed them, down to the pool, up for dinner and evenings at the bar. The beach is a bit of a walk down and a steep walk back, it's not a beach as you would think as it's only a bit of concrete landing in to the sea. The sea is clear warm and great. The free bus to skala is great only during the day. But taxi is only €8 the beach here is good and there is plenty of shops and restaurants. The only down side was you can't walk any where from hotel , our room was great with spectacular views all in all a great hotel , staff and entertainment guys were great would definitely return

Having been to another of the groups hotels, Louis St Elias, I had relatively high hopes.... On arrival, whilst reception staff were pleasant, we had missed lunch so had a snack by the pool, food was average, although my son did enjoy his pizza! The buffet restaurant does get busy at peak times, the food is adequate with not a great deal of variation. I found the staff at times to be quite frosty and not always approachable, we elected to avoid a certain area where a certain staff member worked, I am not sure I saw him smile at all during our stay. Our room was plenty large enough, somewhat dated and no real shelf space, but we were rarely in the room so it was satisfactory and we all slept well. The pool area is one positive, the pool is huge and doesn't get crowded and there was always sunbeds available. The grounds are also very pleasant as some of the hotels in Skala are located right on the road, although it's not overly busy. We tended to avoid the entertainment in the evening and sat inside by the bar, this is where we met Dimitra, she was a superb host who genuinely couldn't do enough for you, lovely to talk too and was always approachable. The bar staff that worked with her were also friendly and helpful, if they could replicate this level of customer service, the hotel would do just fine. I have to agree with a previous review about single use plastic, I found it quite incredible! The hotel is about an 8 - 10 euro taxi ride from Skala, so we popped into town a couple of evenings, never had an issue with getting a taxi. We hired a car for a few days which was a godsend, as Kefalonia is such a lovely island to explore. We'd certainly come back to Kefalonia, but would almost certainly look to stay elsewhere.

Having read some of the reviews I was a little nervous about our visit. For those with limited mobility this hotel is built into the hillside affording beautiful views, but hilly as a result. One of our party had limited mobility and called a buggy every evening to take her from the pool to her room. My one negative about the hotel was late arrivals. Arriving at 9:30pm dinner was finished. We were given a complimentary voucher for lunch one day (we were booked half board). However, we were hungry and paid for sandwiches was all that was on offer. Staff both on reception and in the restaurants were brilliant. Very friendly and bent over backwards to help us. Worth a special mention was Nick on reception and Roubini in the restaurants. Food was good with a different option each day although it does repeat weekly. The entertainment team were good and friendly, but seem to have a minimal budget. Perhaps a bit more variety in the evening entertainment would have made a better experience. The hotel is out of town so there is a lot of reliance on the hotel for entertainment. All in all we had a lovely holiday. The rooms were spacious and clean, although a little dated as others have mentioned. A real positive was the availability of sun beds. We never failed to get sun beds whatever time we came down.

Absolutely not a 5* hotel! If you are expecting 5* quality do not book this resort. The buffet food is 3* at best. If you’d like fresh OJ with your breakfast you have to pay extra, otherwise it’s dispensed orange cordial. Coffee is terrible. Tinned fruit. Worst case of single use plastic I have seen in any resort in a long time. Nowhere to fill your own reusable water bottles. Basic gym, basic spa. Poorly kept tennis court. You can’t get away from the evening entertainment, so unless you’re into karaoke or “baby shark” playing in the evening, give this place a miss. On the positive side, the pool is very big so when loads of people are in you still have room to swim. The little area on the rocks by the sea is good for snorkelling. Rooms are ok. Not 5*, but clean. The hairdryer is unusable, bring your own. For a good sized bathroom it was odd to find the toilet in the shower cubicle. Wet loo roll every day! Unless you get a totally slashed price on this place don’t waste your money.
