Esperanza Resort & Spa

Good afternoon! On Saturday, 25.06 we were at Esperanza Resort & SPA . I want to share my impressions. Since we have not lived in Lithuania before, we decided to visit this club for the first time. Five days before the visit, I called to book a restaurant and sunbeds on the beach. The receptionist told me that the restaurant will book, and they do not book sun beds, but at the same time assured me that this is simply not necessary, because there are enough places for everyone. Two days before visit , I called back again to make sure everything was in order my booking - and again I heard the assurance that we were expected and we could have a great time. And so we arrived: three adults and three children. We arrived a little after one o'clock in the afternoon and immediately found out that there were no sun beds or umbrellas available. At the reception, we were immediately told that this wasn’t their problem and they didn’t promise reservations. And for my question: why did you say: you can arrive in any time and there will be enough space for everyone, and what should we do now? they replied that they could not help in any way. And also advised to go to a restaurant first, for lunch and waiting there will be a place on the beach. Since I was with my wife, her friend and children, I couldn't just turn around and leave this place. As a result, we sat in the restaurant until 17-00. Then, when the sunbeds were free, after paying about 400 € for lunch, my family went to the beach. And I went to the reception to take and pay for towels. Once again I want to draw attention to the time- 17-00. And then the administrator, and then the general manager, started telling me that we had to pay 175€ for towels. (It is appropriate to inform you that I did not just come to an expensive club, that I have the opportunity to pay without problems. ) But I've never been able to understand when they're just trying to deceive me. Total: at first you are lured to come, solely so that you spend money in a restaurant, and then they try to push you pay for towels, moreover, at a time when it's time to leave. All my explanations and attempts to prove that this is not possible, that it is not human, have not led to anything.... This ”general manager” just laughed in my face and repeated that if we didn't pay, she would call security. As a result, the whole day was ruined, and we felt disgusting. I had to take a walk and leave. And already going out of the club, we realized the possible reason for this attitude to ourselves: the flag of Russia was in a prominent place near the hotel (it was during the war!), and they just wanted to humiliate us Ukrainians.... Something like that.... And now think for yourself whether it's worth going down to visiting people who support the aggressors and are ready to humiliate even children for the sake of money....

Stayed here a night in early November, 2019. This was the last day of our trip in Lithuania, and we were hoping to enjoy seeing the castle and the lake in a smaller locale than the cities we had been in. Check in was fine, with the young man there helpful and prompt. His English is a bit limited, but speaks fluent Russian, which allowed my girlfriend to communicate well with him. We had the suite with hot tub. The main room was very large, with a huge bed and a view out to the lake. The bathroom was a bit small, but nicely appointed. Overall, the look of the room was quite attractive. The grounds are pretty as well, with a pier on the lake. It is around 15 minute walk to the island castle. We were told at the desk that buses run, but were later told at a restaurant down the road, that they do not run in the off season. We then had a late lunch at the restaurant, which is Georgian. The food and drinks were excellent, with great wines and beers from Georgia. And the fresh baked bread was wonderful. We also had breakfast the following day, which was equally good. We had requested the spa at 9 pm for 2 hours. However, we arrived back at the hotel early and I asked if we could have it at 8 pm instead, which the man there agreed and said he would turn the facilities on. I also asked if we could order drinks, and although he informed me that I could not get a bottle of wine, he could bring us a beer and glass of wine. So, a half hour or so later, we went down to the spa. And although the hammam and sauna were heated or heating up, the whirlpool tub never got above luke warm. And the plunge pool (cold, of course, as is the way they are) didn't have jets that worked, despite multiple pushes of the buttons. Also, we never received the drinks we ordered. So, it was passable, but hardly up to expectations, especially since it costs 50 euros for two hours. So, when our time was up, we decided to return to the room and try the hot tub. This is when we discovered there was no hot water at all. At this point, the front desk was closed, and I received no answer when calling the hotel, so I decided to wait until morning, hoping it would heat up. In the morning at 8 am, we went down to the spa, as we were told we could use it without a fee then, but the lights and facilities were all off. At this point we tried the shower in the room, and although there was tepid water, it only lasted a few minutes before going cold. So, my girlfriend attempted to use the showers in the spa, but this was also not hot. I tried calling the hotel numerous times, but did not receive an answer until 9 am, at which time we were told (by a different individual than the man at the desk) that we should have informed them we wanted the spa in the morning (this was not made clear to us), and that they would call a maintenance man to try to fix the hot water. This, of course, did us no good as we were checking out in under 2 hours. So, we went for breakfa
