Garten Hotel

The hotel was beautiful! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and organized!! The surfing was epic and the beach gorgeous. We will definitely return! The family villas were spacious and quiet, and we love sitting by the pool looking out at the beautiful waves. There are a great local restaurants surrounding the hotel and we went on some cool expeditions that the hotel organized. Highly recommend!

I visited the hotel yesterday and the experience was such a letdown. The hotel is very tiny not like the pictures make it seem, the staff if completely disorganized, I had booked a room the morning of the day I was checking in but they did not have my reservation and I was not on the list to enter the property. When I checked in to the hotel the larger sized man was completely unprofessional and behaved in a very unpleasant way. He treated us as a bother and did not explain the amenities of the hotel, when escorting us to the room no one bothered to assist my pregnant wife with her bags, no explaining on room features, broken ac, and I was not given a room key. The guy who escorted us to the room said he would bring the key, more than 20 mins passed and no key I went to pick it up and when I went to try the key it was the wrong one. I went to the office again and explained I was given the wrong key and just given a look of contempt and no offer of apology or explanation just looking for the key and given to me in a hurry. At this point I complained to the manager who happened to be there and she was courteous and apologized for that persons behavior. She offered my wife and I a complementary drink and tried to appease the situation. I really think the 5 star service is not there and a lot of customer service training is needed. There are other nearby hotels with far better service and similar amenities and attributes. Hopefully the could change this. Also they need more pool chairs they only had 3 when we were there which is not enough at all.

This was one of my most relaxing trips in a long time! My partner and I stayed for 5 nights over American Thanksgiving holiday in the Penthouse suite and it was perfect. Garten had everything you need starting with delicious breakfast, attentive staff on call via WhatsApp, private excursions to the volcano, lake, waterfalls (Jairo honestly made our trip!), and views for days! I highly recommend this boutique hotel that mixes relaxation and adventure with great food. While my partner surfed; I worked out at the gym, read by the infinity pool, and did yoga! Perfect place to connect as a couple and time for yourself as well!

First time to El Salvador , Garten Hotel is a must to stay at ! The views , the gorgeous room, the food , the cocktails , and all importantly the Manager Bo and staff go out of their way to ensure all aspects of the stay are 5 star ! I would also try the massage , one of the best I have had ! Thanks Garten will be back soon

We recently visited El Salvador for 10 days. Stayed at 4 different hotels/beaches. Garten was my favorite out of all the places we stayed. Excellent service and beautiful hotel. We stayed at the penthouse and it was great. The staff was 10/10. Everyone was very helpful and super nice. Very safe location with 24 hours security. When we first got there we were unsure how the experience would be as it’s in an awkward location, it’s an upcoming area with other establishments currently under construction. The villas are not attached they are within walking distance. We originally had a villa booked but during the week which is when we were there, they don’t have bar service at the villa pool, ask prior to booking during the week if you’re looking to have that access at the villa. The villa is great for families/bigger group for sure. The penthouse was the better choice for couples and you have ocean view. The staff was very nice to arrange the change to the villa during our stay. Gracias a los bartenders Alexander and Carlos who were awesome, very attentive, super friendly, delicious drinks and even put great music we requested since the hotel wasn’t busy this time of year. Our waiter during meals was Julio, who also provided the best service. Food/drinks were great, on the pricier side but worth it. The beach was BEAUTIFUL. If you’re looking to relax and hit some waves this is the place. The sunsets here are breathtaking. If you’re looking for nightlife and party this isn’t it as it’s in a quiet area. Great hotel, great service, and perfect for a relaxing break. We would return. The rooms are new and nicely appointed, and very comfortable. Hotel is right on the black sand beach and accessed by a flight of stairs. Pool and dining area have amazing views out to the ocean. There is a well equipped gym and frequent yoga classes on-site. Staff can help organize day trips and activities to nearby sights. Bi-lingual staff with excellent English. Friendly and accommodating staff provide great service; Denise, Jairo, Albert and all made sure our requests were met, we were taken care of poolside and at meals, AND followed up to make sure were were happy. Food at the restaurant was very good, and daily breakfast included is delicious. Helpful if you have a car to access the surroundings, but the hotel can help you arrange transportation (taxi/uber/service). Secure parking and guard at gate. Proximity to a few other hotels and you can walk to nearby restaurants via beach or roads during the day.
