Sol Costa Daurada

Really enjoyed my stay here. I booked this after remembering that I stayed here about 20 years ago and looked forward to returning as an adult. The hotel is clean and welcoming. Whilst not the most modern it is comfortable and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are all very friendly and polite especially Rosi in the dining room, she is a credit to the hotel. The pool area is really large and there are plenty of sunbeds and sunshades to go around. The pool is big and nicely divided to kids/adults areas and the lifeguard ensures that inflatables stay in the kids end. There is a small gym open 9am-8pm too which looked good although we didn't use it or the other spa facilities. The room keepers did a great job and the rooms always felt fresh as did the corridors and other public areas. We were slightly alarmed to see huge coaches of school trips arriving during our stay (middle two weeks of June is when they have trips to port Aventura) however I could see the hotel security having a chat with them all before they entered and they were all really well behaved while here. I was expecting some noise at night from them but there was no more noise than any of the other hotel guests. Overall if I was to return to Salou I would stay here again. I like that it is out of the main chaos of the town but walkable to get to the beach/bars/shops.

The hotel cleansiness was to a good standard, room was cleaned daily including mopping the floors, and fresh towels everyday, and bed linens were changed. We had a room with 2 singles pushed together and a single sofa bed for our son, my brother had a double bed with a double sofa bed in their room for his family of 4. Air conditioning was free, safe was €18 for our 10 day stay. The hotel caters for British, French and Spanish, so everything is repeated in 3 languages including the entertainment on the evening, which doesn't start until 9pm with kids disco (party dances) then followed by adults entertainment at 10pm with either a quiz, bingo or an outside act like a singer. They did day time activities too such as darts, pool, Frisbee etc competitions where you can win a free drink. There was alot of Spanish schools staying at the hotel, so although they were out during the day, they would fill the pool about 5pm, and the canteen could get busy at certain times. One day we had dinner later than usual at 8:30pm as we had been to the theme park and there was barely any food left, but it was refilled shortly after. Dinner is served from 7pm-9:45pm. The staff that seat you into the dining room were pleasant and welcoming but some of the waiter staff who clear the tables and get the drinks were abit grumpy. Drinks were included at breakfast consisting of a hot drinks machine and a juice machine. No drinks included with evening meal. Food was a hit or miss, some days we struggled to get the kids to eat the options available, so if you have fussy kids i don't recommend, they did have southern fried chicken one night as an option which the kids were happy about, and there is always chips available. There is a salad bar, with made up seafood cocktails and other mini salads with various fish, cheeses, pates etc. There's always a range of bread/rolls, and there is a grill where various meats and fish are cooked on evening and in the morning this is used for the fried eggs with sometimes omelettes, pancakes or streaky bacon. Various desserts available on evening including cheesecakes, profiteroles, tubs of ice cream and jellies for the kids. Breakfast was good with cooked option, and cereals, different bread options for the toast with jams, honey, marmalade available, churros and chocolate hazelnut spread, but no fresh fruit other than occasionally tinned fruit cocktail. Kettles are not provided in room but can be rented from reception at €40, €20 refunded on return, but they are only travel sized and you can purchase one for just €12 at the local supermarkets. Facilities list mini bar but it is not stocked so I'm guessing it will be on request. We stayed in May half term and there were always plenty of sunbeds to use around the pool. The hotel is about 10 minute walk to the shops and 15 mins to the beach. Sunbeds at the beach were €8 each. Close to the hotel on route to shops and beach is a bar called Harry Potters, the food is lower price than those closer

The bad reviews are too harsh this hotel was unreal the staff were lovely and always made us feel welcomed. When we got into our room it was completely spotless not a single flaw anywhere I went with my mum and myself and we loved it the view from our room was amazing and we could see the pool and it was always cleaned every morning. my favourite was the food there was a variety of food and you could pick what you liked and didn’t like. The desert was pretty good you could choose to add extras like sprinkles and for breakfast there was so much that we loved you were able to add chocolate or toffee onto your pastry’s and there was a large selection. Its not too far from the shops but it is a little bit of a walk. This place was a bit out of our price range but it was worth it and I will definitely be coming back again

We’ve recently returned from our trip to Salou and Hotel Costa Daurada has been amazing. It is our second time as we loved it last year and decided to go back. We were given a room facing the pool (quite lively in the evening) and we asked for a room change. They changed it without problems. The hotel is clean and the staff is amazing. Rosi, Moli, Marina, Adri and one blonde lady whose name I don’t remember right now :( were so great, always nice and smiling, speaking to our son and making us feel welcome. The food is great, always plenty of choice and delicious. We went half board but bought lunch for our son at the bar, near the pool for about 10-15€ daily. The pool is clean and they have enough sun loungers. Entertainment is not everywhere and loud and we like it like that. Our son still had so much fun at the mini disco in the evening 😊 The beach is 5 minutes away by taxi so we spent a few days there too. Portaventura is really close 10-15 min walking distance, we have only visited last year the Caribe Aquatic Park but this year we preferred the beach. We would definitely go back but the beds are the only thing that will make us consider another hotel for the next year. Very uncomfortable :)

Good hotel but too many school parties. First 2 days of our trip were great. Hotel was fairly quiet, lovely relaxed dining experience at breakfast and dinner. Food very good at breakfast and fairly good at dinner. Pool area very clean and a separate area for toddlers. We also used the indoor pool which was very refreshing. Day 3 brought the first school party about 50 kids barely supervised. The noise in the dining room was horrendous. The chef brought out a dessert trolley which was promptly swarmed by kids. Evening entertainment was then taken over by the kids. More staff required when school parties are staying at the hotel. More school kids arrived on the following 2 days of our stay. On a good note the rooms were lovey and the staff were friendly and professional.

Such a lovely hotel, all staff were extremely kind and helpful. Pool arena was great and wasn't too busy at the time we went. So many options of activities and help with booking day trips to Portaventura and other attractions. Would definitely return to this hotel :)

The hotel is in a brilliant location close to port aventura theme park and a short walk to the beach. All the staff from reception to the dining room to the cleaning staff are so helpful, friendly and do the best job. The activities are brilliant, something for everyone. Patri and Juanmar make sure everyone has fun with the day activities and the night time entertainment. I would highly recommend the hotel, it’s clean, good choice of food and perfect for all.
