Los Mandarinos Boutique Hotel & Spa

We were absolutely blown away by this hotel — it feels like staying inside an art exhibit. Stunning artwork is thoughtfully positioned throughout the property, with magnificent wooden statues playfully greeting you along the paths and saluting you as you walk the halls. Every corner reflects creativity and care, making the entire space feel alive and joyful. The location itself is equally remarkable, surrounded by the beauty of a cloud forest, creating an atmosphere of peace and wonder. To top it off, the service was outstanding, the food delicious, and the bed exceptionally comfortable. It’s a truly unique, memorable experience — far beyond your typical hotel stay. Highly recommend!

Set in a fantastic location with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, La Compañía del Valle is a stylish, art-inspired hotel that feels both elegant and unique. The pool is excellent, with hot water—a rare and welcome touch in the highlands. The breakfast was great, fresh and satisfying. Service was consistently attentive and warm, making for a relaxed, high-quality stay. Special thanks to Cleovis, who was very attentive. Spectacular hotel. The best hotel we ever stayed at. Everything was outstanding. The room, the staff, the restaurants, the food, the art collection inside and outside , we felt like in a museum. Unfortunately the spa wasn’t ready yet but we can’t wait to discover it on our next stay. 100% recommended.

Otherworldly. We have literally travelled the world and this is one of, if not THE, best hotel resorts at which we have stayed. The service (from true hospitality professionals like our host Bastian, manager Daniel, restaurant host Juan and our regular server Berta), is world class. We were even greeted by Chris Lentz, the owner, who we suspect had better things to do, but spent time with us anyway. The room was large, well appointed and magnificent, with a balcony view of the volcano, the jaw dropping arts garden and surrounding cloud forest. The daily complementary happy hour was a nice touch. El Valle de Anton is a magical place, made even more so by the addition of this exciting new property, replete with gardens, art, three pools (including an underground salt pool), a spa, three truly amazing restaurants and ample parking. On our first morning alone, my Merlin app identified no fewer than 28 species of birds in the area. It was a great escape…and literally only about two hours from Panama’ City.

This property is still in the "soft open" stage, as the spa is still being built. It should be open in a few months. It's well worth the trip up the winding, bumpy road to El Valle de Anton for the fantastic climate and a stay at this beautiful hotel. The group that owns the amazing La Compañía in Panama City's Casco Antiguo has taken over and completely remodeled an old hotel in El Valle to make it into a splendid oasis in the mountains. The property is filled with magnificent sculptures and artwork that immediately puts your mind into "relax" mode. There are cold and warm swimming pools as well as a small gym. The views of the mountains surrounding the small town are spectacular. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ate at all three of the restaurants: Tiempo, Fuego, and Terra. Tiempo is in the lobby, where we enjoyed breakfast on both mornings of our stay. Sundays feature brunch, while on other days, you can order from the ample menu. We had dinner our first night at Fuego, which features international cuisine with meat and seafood in abundance. The real standout, though, is Terra, which features a splendid and innovative vegetarian menu. Chef Patrice has created three excellent dining experiences far away from the always-interesting dining scene in Panama City. We can't wait for the spa to be complete and we'll happily make the two-and-a-half hour drive back to La Compañía de El Valle.

Absolutely stunning location, views and garden; the food was outstanding - food memories made! The staff were fantastic, welcoming, and on top of their game. This hotel is recently remodeled so everything about the room was perfect and spotless. I really loved the rooms - well appointed, beautiful details and a fantastic balcony (sofa chaise lounge outside) with a fantastic view of the beautiful (almost mystical) mists that descend upon the green of the mountains. Can’t wait to return!
