Ohtels la Hacienda

Got home today after a lovely and much needed break. Most of the staff were absolutely lovely. All the staff in the restaurant are fantastic and welcoming and so helpful. The food did get a bit 'Same-y' after over a week but even then there was never a time I didn't enjoy something, the fresh bread was so tasty and I had that with olive oil and balsamic vinegarette days- the bread was so soft and tasty. Sometimes the meat was a little over cooked from the grill station but the pizzas were always great. Loads of selection. I did see a comment on a previous post about the food details being in Spanish... not sure what that was about as most of the signs had Spanish, English and German on if I remember rightly and some of it I didn't use the signs because my eyes could tell what it was so genuinely didn't have a problem telling what the food was on offer. Sometimes the food wasn't red hot, however I also did see that this often seemed to be when people had pulled the serving dishes out from under the lamps to get to it easier so I'm not sure if this could have been avoided. The plates in the warmer were nice and hot mostly (next to the soup jugs) so this did help keep the food hot. Sausages and bacon abroad always tend to be very different from the offerings at home so just bear this in mind and if you know you don't like them don't have them.... simples . I guess what I'm trying to say is... beanz don't always mean Heinz and if you're expecting a Wetherspoons breckie equivalent... maybe Spain isn't the place for you. There were always plenty of other options at breakfast to enjoy. Tons of choice at every meal and the sangria was lovely, we had a jug of sangria between us most meal times. Plenty of coffee machines so it never seemed like there was a huge queue for drinks, also the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious. Cleaners went in every single day and made beds changed towels etc and can't fault them the place was always spotless, I've stayed places before where they only did every 2/3 days so this was a nice treat. I think it's a great rule with the tokens - basically you're given tokens when you arrive and you swap them for drinks by the pool or from the outdoor bar, when you return your cup you get a fresh drink or if you're leaving you return the cup and get your tokens back, its certainly a great way of making sure the pool area doesn't end up littered with cups and sticky drinks being knocked over attracting wasps. There was some confusion over when we tried to book a mobility scooter but this was mainly caused by poor communication from the company hiring them not telling anyone they didn't have a double scooter available!!! Almost forgot to mention but much appreciated- the beds were the most comfortable I've ever stayed in abroad!!! My husband and I both have issues with our joints etc and normally are in agony by the time we go home from sleeping in a different bed - not this time!!! They are huge, a

Firstly only 20 minutes from Reus airport, so handy if you have young children. An impressive entrance and foyer. The receptionist spoke perfect English and was wonderful with our little one who was very tired due to a very early start. Unfortunately our room wasn’t available for several hours, I do understand there has to be time for cleaning but when the travel company provide a 6am flight I feel the hotel should be able to provide a room on arrival, especially as we had to leave early and miss breakfast on departure day. The rooms are a good size, simply furnished with enormous beds - the two in our room could easily sleep parents and 2 children together! Great bathroom with powerful shower. Good size balcony. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels if required. Food reasonably varied - usual fare. The pool was cold, splash park fabulous. Football court/paddle board area and an area upstairs for more peaceful sunbathing. As it was October plenty of sunbeds every day. Staff everywhere very welcoming and friendly, especially the ladies who greet you in the restaurant. Something I hadn’t come across before, you swap a token for a plastic glass at the bar suppose it means no one has to collect the empty ones, you return to the bar and get a token for the next day. Loved the area, 10 minutes to the lovely beach. Bus stop outside so able to visit other resorts. Will definitely return.

We visited in August and I was a little worried as it is a smaller resort than what we would normally book. I didn't need to be, the rooms were spacious, clean and modern. All the bar and pool areas were spotless. Learning basic Spanish will help so much and we found it made the staff really grateful we tried. The restaurant staff I have to say were the best! I have a gluten allergy and they bought food out special as requested. The main buffet had something for everyone. I have a 12 and 8yr old who like me are very fussy but there was plain pasta to put own sauce on, potato options, all salad was seperate. Lots of freshly cooked meats at the grill. Only downside for me was drinks were served at the table so no fizzy to help your self to. Vanessa on the desk was incredible with the kids and even arranged a birthday cake and staff to sing for our youngest. Snack bar was really good, lots of choice for hot food. Pastries, icecreams, crisps all available too on AI. The pool was lovely and clean with a great splash pool for under 5s (I'd say) and 3 awesome slides that were much faster than we expected. Yes the mad dash to sunbeds was a funny experience but better than setting alarms for 6am to beat people to the beds. We never not got sunbeds. It was quite funny as the Brits were all on one side of the pool and Spanish on the other. We all got to know each other really well and met some lovely Spanish family's who tried to learn English from us and they helped us with some Spanish for the bar. Grande (means large) very helpful when wanting pints of water. Kids clubs were a little young for ours but they did lots of pool activities to get involved. The mini disco is a favourite of ours, lots of kids competitions to win hotel merch but the main events were a little lacking. (Reason for being 4 star) We didn't use the spa/gym facilities but it looked well maintained if that's your thing. The hotel itself is right near shops and restaurants. The beach is beautiful and never got too crowded. There are bus stops right outside the hotel.Get a bus pass from Bus Plana (works out cheaper) short journey to water park which was incredible but I'd advise splashing out on fast passes as it was rammed. The bus also goes to Salou where there were lots more shops, tourist beach front. Would highly recommend this hotel!

I booked this hotel as a package with Tui, it was a short four night break and I booked it for a fantastic price including bed breakfast and evening meal with flights transfer and luggage. We arrived quite early in the morning. I was informed our room was ready, but that wasn’t a problem, when we checked in the lady was really helpful unfortunately I forgotten her name ! We left our luggage with jaun, who locked it safely away while we took a look around the complex, the hotel looks traditionally Spanish, with its iron stairs and traditional tiled floors, I really liked it however some people might judge differently because it didn’t look as modern as some near nearby . We were given lilac ribbon wristbands (half board) I noticed a lot of people had navy blue bar-coded wristbands, as they were for all inclusive guests, on booking I did not realise there was an all inclusive option nor was I offered it as grade when I checked in! This isn’t a problem for me, but perhaps other guest might like to take up the option is given a choice. My room was very comfortable with air-conditioning plenty of towels, and a small fridge. We had two double beds in the room and spacious balcony. I was on the first floor so could not see the pool from my balcony but I think all floors higher than mine had good pool views. The indoor pools are chargeable at €7 and swimmers will need to wear a swimming cap, available to buy. Dinner in the evening was very good, the guy on the live grill station cooked sirloin steak on the first night and you could request how you wanted it cooked, Large king prawns were also available, I was impressed with the quality. I was delighted to see a chocolate fountain on the dessert table, dinner is served until 10 pm which I think is great so often all inclusive hotels dinner and she is a bit early in my opinion. Mercedes was very helpful and polite, all the stuff was fantastic. The live entertainment is on until 11.30 at night and with the balcony door open it was very loud, but the double glazing was fantastic and the moment you shut the door it was almost silent. I slept soundly. The outdoor pool was fantastic very very clean plenty of sunbeds. Pool table, table tennis, tennis waterslides, plenty to do. Breakfast served from 8 am till 1030, plenty of selection the traditional cooked eggs and bacon lots of different pastries, fruit, pancakes, and freshly cooked bread. I ordered a burger and chips at lunchtime it is a different portion than the all inclusive guests get. I got a really big bowl of chips and a nice quality burger served hot. This hotel is situated just a short walk to La pinda Beach near Tarragona, it is a very beautiful sandy beach with sunbeds available to hire, The hotel is also very well situated if you want to visit the waterpark this is within walking distance. And you can get a bus from outside to Salou and the port Ventura adventure Park. La pinda is a quieter resort than it

One on the best holiday in our life . We spend 5 amazing days in Ohotel La Hacienda in La Pineda ❤️ Down Amazing and very clean hotel . Great , very friendly stuff . Reception girl great , friendly and very helpful with great English. All food stuff cooking and serving friendly and kind . Bars and animation people great . Food been amazing, very tasty and big variety of food Food. Short distance to bus stop and to the beach . Definitely worth to go .

Hotel needs a refurb getting a little old.Staff amazing and pool bar food very nice.Food in hotel main restaurant cold not one but every day.Did inform rep and microwaves become available.Pool one of the coldest ever been in. (Had a bad storm ie rain staff run round doing their best but still trying the next day.Not hotel fault but think this should be in the yearly plan as all areas under water.All lift stopped and bars closed .) The entertainment nil and the team did a kids club well tried but for me not enough.Few acts on but again well below average if a four star. Thinking a two or at maximum push at three
