Puro Moconá Lodge

There is no wifi in the rooms. The staff is incredibly rude. There is no restaurant, they only offer pizza and empanadas. Since I’m vegan and it was pouring raining outside, we ordered delivery and they told us we couldn’t do that in very poor manners. After a discussion, they finally let us eat it inside. While we were having dinner and talking about how there is no wifi, the receptionist( who is incredibly rude and entitled) overheard our conversation and started attacking us and talking down to us. Also, we ordered 6 toasts ( which were disgusting) and they gave us a tiny amount of dulce de leche which only covered 3 of them. We asked for a bit more for the others, and they charged us, when they should of calculated the serving size for all of the toasts, not only half. Also, the rooms have very bad smell and aren’t pretty. Overall, it was a horrible experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. It is a shame since the location and the views are great.

Puro Moconá Lodge & Tours is a most charming hotel located directly at the Rio Uruguay on the south-side of El Soborbio at 300m of the bus terminal. The very quiet hotel offers cabins placed in a large garden, each cabin with 2 separate rooms & private garage; a restaurant, a gym, and a large terrace with pool. The staff is friendly and attentive. We made a reservation over the phone. The room was very nice, the garden superb, the view of the river great and the pool nice. Our room had a very good queen-size bed, a bench that can be used as an extra single bed, air-conditioning, tea-making facility, fridge, walk-in wardrobe, balcony with a large bench and view of the river, and no TV and no safe. We had a bathroom with washbasin, shower, toilet and bidet. All was very clean. Windows can be opened and but unfortunately have no mosquito screens. In the restaurant you find good food. The wine list is nice. The kitchen sticks literally to the menu and is totally inflexible. A nice continental breakfast is served: rolls & croissants, toast & pastries, fresh fruit salad, butter, ham & cheese, marmalade & dolce-de-leche, home made lime lemonade, tea & coffee. The hotel offers pricey tours to Moconá & Encantado waterfalls. To Moconá ARS 19,400 per person. Note that a taxi for a day is charged at ARS 12,000 and the micro-bus at 08:00 from the town centre is ARS 4,000 per person. The latter can be reserved at the tourist info. We were very pleased with the garden and the quietness of the place and we had a very nice stay. Highly recommended.
