Camping Playa Las Dunas

Staff at reception and around the site very friendly and helpful. Toilet/shower block was cleaned 4 times a day, so no complaints there. Would recommend as a good place to stay and explore surrounding areas: Sevilla/Ronda/Cadiz/Jerez and of course El Peurto de Santa Maria.

Site is good with reasonable pitches, some with shade but all on dusty gravel soil. Facilities are spotless, pool has shade but no chairs or beds but supermarket is well stocked although pricey. Noisy at weekends with loud beat music in the distance but midweek quiet. Great location for ferry to Cadiz & local town has bars & restaurants to suit most tastes.

I don’t understand why you can’t book instead of having take a chance there might be a place when you turn up. When we did, you got the distinct feeling you were going to be fleeced. We were too at 54 euros a night! 11 euros for electricity for one night! We only stayed as we were very tired. You can’t even choose a free pitch because they won’t tell you, weirdly , which ones are available. All other campsite we’ve stayed at offer you options, if they are available. Felt very uncomfortable.

For some strange reason you are not able to book in advance. You just have take a chance , which is slightly off putting when your driving a 3.5 Ton , 7.3m motor home. We took the chance as the surrounding area is beautiful but we were very disappointed however we did stay the one night as we were tired. You get the feeling that the place is on the make. We asked if we could walk to look at the sites that were free as all the other sites we had visited had done so but were told no. Only in an area by the bins and services was offered and at 46 euros a night that included 11 euros a night for electricity! 11 euros ! When we went to check we noticed an area that seemed free with slightly bigger pitches. Yes , we could go there but that was 54 euros a night! After settling, we walked the camp and found a lot of empty spaces next to where other motor homes were paying only 18 euros a night ! All a bit weird really. It does have good facilities and good shop too. But it’s certainly not worth it.

Excellent site situated directly overlooking a nice Sandy beach. Pitches are good but no hedges between each like other sites although there are plenty of trees and vegetation in the area. Facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean. Reception staff and team friendly. The shop was not open when we were there but they had a few essentials for sale in reception. There are a few places to eat within 5 minute walk of the site but the main area of town with numerous tapas bars, restaurants etc is a good 30 minute walk. The ferry to Cadiz is about 20 minutes walk and well worth doing especially the historic area. Climb to the top of the clock tower in the cathedral for amazing views of the city Jerez is also worth a visit. Didn’t see or use the pool so cannot comment on that. Would certainly recommend

They try to rip you of . Since you enter push you to book as long as they can , trying to make you think is no places when actually are plenty. Showers are cold , paying 8 euro only elettric and nothing would work . 8 euro to do the washing and clothes come same as you put them as they don’t put any liquid in it another way to make money out of you , and the laundry is dirty as well .. Is minutes walk away everything you need so you have to stress out if you need to do anything.
