Stayed one night and overall thought it was okay. I was expecting a little nicer and better facilities. The room was big enough, had a refrigerator and cool ac on a hot day. It needs to be renovated. The common areas are full of history but it seems like the current owners are just barely keeping pace with upkeep. This place is massive and so many nooks and crannies. I bet it is a nightmare to keep up. If you like history and architecture then give it a try. If you are expecting anything beyond basic rooms and accomodations, set your expectations accordingly. Breakfast was a highlight and they do a nice spread, enough for most people with hot, cold, breads, pastries, fruit... Wifi was open and good. Parking is tricky to get in and out. 10 euros a day. If driving you will need to park here because street parking is non existent. Overall. Average but interesting.

Large rooms, beautiful building with parking €10 per day and a pool . Fantastic location if you are visiting Cadiz or Jerez - both no more than 15/20 mins away . Lovely little town a fraction of the price in the cities

This was our fourth trip to the Monasterio. Whilst the building is delightful, the rooms are now very tired. The aircon, even on full blast was lacklustre. We paid a supplement for a room overlooking the pool and were delighted to see the stork nesting on the convent roof, as we had three years ago. Also great view of full moon rising. Staff on reception were exceptionally helpful in locating a kettle and crockery for us. All amenities in room were stopped due to Covid and have not been reinstated except for the minibar. Breakfast was not as varied as before, but still good. One of the (slow) coffee machines was out of order for three days, however. The pool was lovely and there were always plenty of sunloungers. The location is very good, only 10 mins walk from the train station, town centre and Catamaran (for Cadiz). Hopefully the hotel will get a facelift before we visit again. Hopefully, there

Beautiful architecture, mahogany arches, marble staircase and lovely antique furnishings, with a stunning, tiled central fountain arboretum. There was no art work in the room, just bare walls. The night of my arrival, seeking dinner around 8:30 p.m, I was sent, with an umbrella 150 yards down the street, when said restaurant was closed. Perhaps the desk clerk could have called ahead rather than have me walk. I was informed there was one bottle opener in the entire hotel, and this was in the restaurant, which I had to wait to open before said bottle opener could be retrieved. The head of breakfast staff was rude, stating that "You have five minutes before the buffet closes." Rather than, "Will you be requiring anything else, Ma'am, as the buffet will be closing in a few minutes." I was referred to as "lady".

I rated this hotel as "very good" for its friendly staff, beautiful building and architecture, room size, and bathroom size. The location is also really great. The only bad thing I have to say about the hotel is that our room (room 170) had two areas of black mold in it. We were only there for one night so we didn't bother making a fuss about it. It was on the ceiling in the corner of the room by the right side of the bed and also around the air conditioning vents. Please have that taken care of. I would stay in this hotel again but would make sure to take a look at the room first before accepting it.

Great value, location and wonderful staff! This is not a fancy place with lots of amenities but what you do get is a clean, comfy bed in the heart of the city. It is an interesting historic building with lots of character. The breakfast spread was enormous, delicious and varied. The staff was very gracious and efficient. After splurging a bit in Lisbon and Sevilla, we had three wonderful nights here for very little expense. Parking was also on site in a secure garage and included.
