Golden Monkey Cottages

Our stay was great. The rooms were spacious and we stayed in one on the seafront so had a lovely view. The food was also very good however they could add a few non pasta based options. The staff were very helpful and organised transfers, trips and laundry for us. The drains in the bathroom did smell a lot of the time however we are aware this may be common in the phillipines. The towels were clean however they left residue on your skin as though they were shedding. Overall would recommend a stay here

Bad experience! Couldn t sleep, insects biting us while in bed, didn t know what it was, we were constantly using mosquito cream.before going to.sleep but no effect... Then, the third day we woke up at 6 50 am, with the bed full of ANTS, big ones, on our head , hands, body, didn t stop coming, horrific experience to wake up like this!! The stuff super unhelpful, they offer just to change the sheets😅, because the cause of the ants is natural, the rain is coming,maybe🤣🤣. Also, refused to.pay us back for the next night that was paid already, but we checked out anyway and addressed the problem to booking! Avoid this hotel.at all costs!

This property is such a gem! I love how secluded and peaceful it is, away from all the noise of the town. It's also beachfront, so you can go for a dip whenever you want on the clear waters of Palawan. Since it's secluded, it's a little far from the town proper, probably a 15-20 minute walk or a 5 minute tricycle ride which they offer for free, just message them whenever you need a ride. Our room was at the 3rd floor which was so spacious, we had our own balcony with a hammock and the best view of the waters. Staff is amazing too, July at the front desk helped us out with everything, from van transfers to booking a massage, she was so nice and truly the highlight of our stay here. The other staff at the restaurant (breakfast and evening), and the kuyas who drove us with the tricycle are all so nice and warm andbalways very accommodating. It's free breakfast too! Only wish is for them to have more breakfast options but otherwise everything was so great. I'll stay here again in a heartbeat when I go back.

NEVER BOOK THIS HOTEL, IT IS SCAM. This hotel has been the WORST EXPERIENCE of my life. Upon arrival, we found out that THERE WAS NO HOT WATER, the shower drain didn’t work, there were hundreds of ANTS, COCKROACHES and the staff is the rudest thing ever. We were able to spend half an hour in the room because we couldn't even take a shower after a long flight, much less sleep there surrounded by bugs. I've been in much better hostels than this supposed 3-star hotel, which isn't even super cheap. We had to book another hotel and Golden Monkey Beach Hotel did not want to give us a refund. The staff is rude, threatening and we were honestly scared of staying in a place like that. In addition, there is no security at all, it is very noisy and it is far from the beach and the downtown. ————- NO RESERVÉIS NUNCA EN ESTE HOTEL, ES UNA ESTAFA. Este hotel ha sido la PEOR EXPERIENCIA de mi vida. Al llegar, nos encontramos con que NO HAY AGUA CALIENTE, el desagüe de la ducha no traga, hay cientos de HORMIGAS, CUCARACHAS y el personal es lo más maleducado que existe. Pudimos estar media hora en la habitación porque no podíamos darnos ni una ducha después de un vuelo largo y mucho menos dormir ahí rodeados de bichos. He estado en hostels mucho mejores que este supuesto hotel de 3 estrellas, que ni siquiera es que sea súper barato. Tuvimos que reservar otro hotel para pasar nuestra estancia y Golden Monkey Beach Hotel no nos quiso devolver el dinero. El personal ha sido maleducado, amenazante y sinceramente da miedo estar en un lugar así. Además, no hay nada de seguridad, es muy ruidoso y está alejado de la playa y del centro.

Bathroom was very old, needs a remodel, towels were old and floor matt was a rag

This is a fabulous place with sublime sunsets and the beach on the doorstep. Wonderful accommodation, walking distance to El Nido. The only problem is needing a scooter into town but it's not really a problem and the hotel accommodates so well and the tuk tuks are free. Staff couldn't do enough to help us, a really wonderful experience, book here for your perfect stay in El Nido !

Nice little cottage away from all the city noise. Right on beach. Wake up in the mornings and simply take a few steps to the water

Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast options and in generell good food, close enough to all the bars and restaurants directly El Nido, amazing view and not many people but still close to everything
