Rancho Santana

Love love love everything about this place! As a first time in Nicaragua, this was a perfect Nicaragua Lite experience for myself, my sister & our elderly father. I’m definitely returning to visit Ometepe & the corn islands after this experience. I love how environmentally minded this place is, everything is fresh & local. The pools are lovely & the pools bar offers excellent cocktails & classic pool side fair. The beaches are rustic and gorgeous. I didn’t understand how big the ranch is prior to arrival, and, they provided easy transportation & maps & directions. The concierge was especially accommodating to our last minute whims. We took the full day Granada tour with Luis, and it was AWESOME. Luis was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable & spoke incredibly English.

Beautiful, relaxing resort on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. We stayed at the Inn, and we had a wonderful time! The gorgeous view from our spacious suite, the warmth of the staff, the fun activities, and elegant Spanish Colonial architecture and decor were outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the infinity pool at sunset, horseback riding on the beach, and the full day tour to Granada and Lake Nicaragua. We would love to return to this idyllic place!

We did a lot of activities and the place was beautiful! Excellent experience with Eddy monkey scouting, Carr teaching yoga, massages were wonderful. We also did horseback riding and the horses were expertly trained and seemed happy and beautifully taken care of. Our surf instructors were phenomenal. We surfed with Gabriel, Elize, Minor and Lenin, we would not have changed a thing. Special shout out to Lenin who brought a ton of local knowledge, expertise, and struck a balance of keeping us safe, pushing us to improve, and making sure we had a great time.

The hotel was lovely. The beaches are incredible. There’s lots of nature in the surrounding jungle and on the beach. We were looking for a quiet escape from busy, professional lives. The first two days were a disappointment as there was construction in the Casita next to ours. We were not offered a discount and it took two days for them to get the noise to stop despite telling us several times that would stop. The Casita is not well equipted equipped to cook in. You are offered two single serving peppers and five single serving salt. There is nothing else in the kitchen to use other than plates and silverware, etc. we had to ask for instructions for many things as none were provided, including how to light the oven. Outdoor bathtub was missing apart and not usable for half of the trip. Overall slow to correct these things, though they were corrected. The highlight of the trip was the equine experience. for those of you who are experienced Horse people, this is the place to go. The trainers and staff who care for the horses, treat them as trusted companions. Their horses are healthy and happy. We were allowed to ride Pasafino mixes who literally danced. We rode in the jungle on the beach and in the ring it was incredible. The spa is lovely and nestled in the jungle. Massages were great. I highly recommend Rancho Santana. For any of you in the medical field there’s a clinic at the entrance to the hotel that’s worth supporting. It is called the Roberto Clemente Health Clinic

Just leaving the spa and walking on air - unbelievable massage - Brenda has magic hands!! The place is gorgeous and so relaxing as well - don’t miss it if you stay at Rancho Santana - one of the best resorts in Nicaragua with amazing restaurants, room choices, beaches and pools

Luis was amazing. He’s so knowledgeable about the Nicaragua area. We hiked/climbed Mount Mahosa and had amazing morning. It was a challenging but doable climb and we were offered delicious snacks at the top with the most amazing views of the volcanos. I would highly recommend all the excursions at Rancho Santana.
