VOYA Boutique Hotel

We just concluded an exceptional stay at the VOYA Boutique Hotel. From the time we completed our online booking to our final check out, the wonderful front desk staff made themselves available to support all of our needs, making this first visit to Cuba an absolute pleasure. We were assisted with airport transfers, tours and restaurant bookings; and the hotel even organized a great little rum tasting session for us (thanks Diosbel!). The accommodations were top notch, fully deserving of the 'boutique' label and on the culinary side of things, the food at Brasserie 255 was by far the best of all the great food we had in Havana (Claudia was our server for most meals and although she was new, she was excellent). Overall, I highly recommend VOYA: it deserves its reputation as the best hotel in Havana.

Everything from the welcome drinks to food in this hotel was exceptional! The team went over and beyond to ensure our stay in Havana was memorable. Booking excursions like Classic Tour, Old Havana Walking tour( Leonardo was our highlight);or recommending restaurants and nightlife, the team did it with a smile and lots of care. I cannot imagine visiting Havana and not staying at Voya!

The Voya Boutique Hotel is truly one-of-a-kind. As you step out of your Taxi, a smiling, handsomely dressed Doorman, greets and escorts us to the entrance as he opens the front door, you step into a beautifully appointed lobby, filled a warm apricot glow. The high ceilings and splendid lighting create a dreamy atmosphere. The attentive service begins as the receptionists, dressed in all red, greet us. After a seamless check-in, our bags are whisked away, as are we, to the serene patio at the back of the mansion, for refreshment and meeting with the rest of our musical group. The drinks and appetizers are delicious. We are shown upstairs to our large suite, again high ceilings throughout, with French doors opening from the living room and the bedroom onto a large balcony overlooking the patio we just left. From here the pool looks like a little gem and the decorative and string lights take on a magical air. We are in Havana at last. Our sparkling clean rooms and bath are luxurious yet comfortable. In the morning we head down for breakfast, served either in the Brasserie, dining room area or the patio. Perfectly minced melons and other fruits in the shape of a small souffle mold are served first, and then a piece of black slate is used to display a variety of cheeses and hams along with a basket of the most perfect looking little rolls, as shiny as if they had been lacquered. Every morning the Chef surprised us with an amuse-bouche, or special little fresh juice. The cappuccinos and latte's had the most intriguing designs made in the foam. We had dinner at the Hotel one evening and it was exceptional, fresh delicious food, excellent service and perfectly prepared cocktails. We also had appetizers and drinks on several occasions, Voya's carpaccio is the best I have ever tasted. When we returned home in the late afternoon again our steadfast doorman was there at the bottom of the stairs to walk us up into the Hotel, where the attentive receptionist would immediately abandon whatever she was doing at her desk to personally ask us about our day, and address each of us by name. They did not just know our names but the names of the rest of our group, that were lodged elsewhere and our daily schedules. No matter what time of night we returned home, our Cuban family was there to welcome us. Another loving touch was the notes with sweet words and drawings that the housekeeping staff would leave us every day and evening. I brought them back with me as treasured momentoes, along with the fond memories of the "Ladies in Red" they treated us with genuine care and concern making our time staying at the Voya Hotel the highlight of Havana.

This is a repurposed mansion with ten rooms, fine dining, a “secret” grotto with a plunging pool. Our room included a terrace with a view of the capitol. The most solicitous service ever. If you go downstairs for dinner, when you return you’ll find your bed turned down. A bit out of the way but worth it!
