The hotel is a "living museum" because it doesn't look like it has been renovated since it was built. We have celebrated New Year's Eve dinner there twice and we have no complaints: we ate well, were well looked after and had a lot of fun. That said, last year we made the "mistake" of staying overnight as well (not exactly cheap) and the rooms could have been used as a setting for the horror film "Malasaña". I don't think we'll go back for dinner because this year we had to cancel a reservation for two on the 30th due to a case of force majeure (an emergency operation) and they don't give you back your money, even if it's not much. Maybe they are within their rights, but it is an act of little sensitivity towards the unexpected urgency of regular customers.
