Sabie River Bush Lodge

Very nice place, very good food ( it is better with pancake for breakfast), room is perfect; lovely swiming pool

All the meals were TERRIBLE. We did a guided drive of 2000 ZAR for two of us was badly done- guide kept stalling the car and didn’t speak English well. Location is okay, nice views of river and hippos. Very basic in many ways.

The lodge is a basic yet lovely camp on the Sabie River with elephants drinking. I saw a few tents with barbecue but we stayed in the comfortable 2 rooms little house by the river with a beautiful view. There is also a nice pool, mini golf, chess game and swings to relax and entertain also kids. Everybody was kind, food was ok. The 2 Kruger gates are a 15 min drive and you can choose where to start. It’s safe to drive from and to the lodge which is just by the main road. We booked a great night game drive through the lodge in a big vehicle arranged by the Kruger. Around 12 people but still comfortable. The day after we booked a full day game drive and we were lucky to have our own car with a fantastic guide Franz. We saw all big five in one hour!!! The south part of the Kruger is a bit crowded but still very enjoyable in August and we saw many more animals than in the central part (anyway it’s worth a visit). We loved our game drive sooo much and in general all our experience at Sabie River Lodge. We also asked for laundry and it was perfect.

The place is very nice in front of the Saby River We would have only one room with our grand dauther (11 years old) but il was impossible.Our 2 rooms were very confortable. I recommand this lodge Beatrice

Wonderful property with fantastic views of the Sabie river. Game viewing right from the patio and the deck. The staff were exceptionally friendly, caring and attentive. Close to the Kruger gate, so easy access to the park if necessary. Great value for money. We will be back!

This was our 4th stay here and the standards of everything were brilliant. The managers and all staff are courteous, friendly, and attentive without being 'in your face'. The whole site is managed extremely well from entrance gate through to reception, accommodation, food, drink, gardens - even down to the various ornamental features around every corner to the hanging herbs in plant pots outside the kitchen. You feel relaxed as soon as you step onto the veranda which overlooks the Sabie River in Kruger Park with it's resident hippo family. Wildlife literally on your doorstep. No request is too much trouble and we were welcomed back with open arms. Wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to others. Thankyou Dale, Candice, Patrick, Welcome and Gift and everyone else who made our stay so brilliant. We were in tears driving away.....until we meet again.
