Hotels near Pentland Hills Regional Park in Edinburgh

We used this hotel following arrival at the airport from overseas and night prior to departure . It was ideal. Nice location, friendly staff. It was pleasant to walk around the wooded campus and neighborhoods of adjacent Herriot-Watt University. We will be back. ... I would note however, that some may feel the privacy in the bathroom is a bit compromised by the construction of the bathroom doors and side panels (opaque material which lets the light shine through, and large see-through cracks between the door and the adjacent wall - not completely private).

I am shocked to see the hotel with a 4-star rating on here. Everything about our experience was brilliant. We visited the hotel towards the end of March for a friends wedding. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the drive in, the main reception building, the function room. A really special place to tie the knot. I think I can speak for most of the wedding party in saying the service was absolutely brilliant. All the staff were so attentive and really went above and beyond in catering to everybody’s needs. A special mention to Sofie and Johanna who were tending the bar. They really outdid themselves, professional and extremely pleasant throughout. I can’t imagine how hard it must be dealing with so many merry party goes but they did it with a smile and really went the extra mile and helped to make it a really great day. But thank you to everyone at the Dalmahoy, it was an amazing day.

After staying in a number of hotels in Edinburgh, Novotel Edinburgh Park is definitely of highest quality in this price range. The location is perfect if you are working outside of the city but want to still experience the city centre at night. Edinburgh Park train station and tram stop are very close to the hotel with frequent services to neighbouring towns and Waverley station (city centre). The train is quickest to Waverley at only 9 mins and costs as little as £2.70 at super off peak times for a return ticket. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean. There are hundreds of channels on the 55” TVs. The beds are comfy and there is a temperature regulator fan (not air conditioning). The bathrooms are clean and well furnished. Executive rooms get some more toiletries than standard rooms. Some rooms have baths and some have stand-in showers. (Maybe you can note your preference when booking) Breakfast is definitely worth paying for. There’s a huge selection of food options, something for everyone. Hot food and continental style breakfast is offered and is a buffet style. The restaurant is large but can be very busy in the evenings. Car parking is offered at a member rate (Accor ALL account holders) of £6 per day. I would rate the hotel very highly, after staying here a number of times over the past few months and with more bookings in the not so distant future. I look forward to returning!

Stayed for three nights while attending Comic Con at the royal highland centre which is conveniently just next door. Check in and out was no problem. The room was nice and clean and housekeeping refreshed it daily. As a housekeeper for a hotel myself i definitely appreciate the good job they did so thank you to them it's nice not having to be the one cleaning it for once. If i had one small complaint it would be that the water in the shower doesn't go very hot and i definitely like a hot shower. Apart from that it was lovely. Food wise i only had breakfast each day as i was away during the day but the breakfast was a good selection and everything was fresh. Overall it was a good stay and i would stay again if an event is held near there that i'm going to. Hopefully the housekeeping got the cakes that i left in the room, i didn't want to squash them in my bag and they were too expensive and fancy just to throw away (bought them at the event). The hotel is fab the staff are great and cannot do more for you , lovely touches provided by guest relations concierge & reception staff are so lovely , catering & bar staff great , the room was lovely , great shower and local produce in rooms such as the coffee etc , social hour is a nice touch and breakfast was great , i would stay here again we had a lovely stay ... however the spa lets it down This was a special birthday suprise for my other half i booked the spa for treatments for us . We were late on arrival due to rail strikes and i missed my spa appointment which is fine i expect that if you are not on time. My partner was still able to recieve his treatment however we were provided with no towels robes or slippers , no info regarding lockers . The massuise gave my partner a robe and was suprised one was not already provided for him after he had to walk around after getting changed into swimwear .The water machine in the ladies changing room did not work the only water available was from a tap in the toilet not ideal as the next water machine was in the lobby opposite the gym , especially not ideal if u have no robe or slippers or towel to go out to it . So if you are are a lady there is no drinking water available , very undignified !! I was not shown to the relaxation room and couldnt go in even if i wanted to as i had no towel or robe . My partner told me the mens changing room stank of urine from a pipe . The staff were not very helpfull or attentive and the service at the spa does not reflect the service or same level of standard as the rest of the hotel . I have had better service at a local lesuire centre and would not use this ”spa” again . My partner and I often use spas and this was by far the worst spa expeirience dissapointing as it was his birthday. I could maybe understand if it was busy but it wasnt .

Stayed here for the close proximity to the airport (10 min walk) and my work location in the Gogarburn area, and though I was only there for 12 hours it was flawless from start to finish. A big thank you to Chelsea Rose and Klaudia on the front desk team who took care of my pre-arrival queries and were kind enough to upgrade me to one of their refurbished Queen Deluxe rooms. Check-in / Check-out was swift. The room itself was a very good size, comfortable bed, large wall mounted TV, was clean and bright. It came with a generous size fridge and a nespresso coffee machine. Breakfast was good, and some colleagues who ordered room service at dinner time gave the food top marks, whilst others who had stayed longer also spoke highly of the health club facilites. Can’t wait to stay here again on my next trip!

Stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday weekend in August 2022. I'm guessing the price was high because of the fringe and it being a bank holiday weekend. The hotel was bright and breezy. no tea making facilities in the room. No hair dryer, limited storage, no draws. There was tea making facilities in the reception that were free and always available. Breakfast at the hotel was continental and £7.50 each. Quite reasonable for the offering of cereal, pastries, yoghurts, juice, ham and cheeses. Nice location opposite the tram station.

This was our second time at this hotel and we stayed for almost a week. You can't beat the location on George Street, right downtown, close to shops and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice. The king bed had a good mattress and pillows. There is a safe. They seem to have made upgrades since our last pre-covid stay, including air-conditioning in (all?) rooms. As you would expect in a big city, the rooms are quite small and the hotel is not exactly quiet; also depending on where your room faces. We were right by the elevator, which I generally don't like. I wonder if it's because we booked through our credit card and not direct. It seems there is sometimes a ”penalty'. The rooms are supplied daily with water, delicious cookies and snacks. You can make individual cups of drip coffee in a filter, which is much better than instant coffee but not as good as a Nespresso, IMHO. We had breakfast included and the Printing Press is just wonderful, for breakfast, any meal and later evening cocktails and whiskey. The Burr & Co is a coffee shop, also right next door, with tables outside. Love that place. The hotel has great service. We lost a suitcase and got daily support in checking on the status and changing the address on the delivery. There seemed to be a shortage on hair conditioner and we didn't have a sign for do-not-disturb the first day and got woken at 8 AM, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of the hotel stay. We expect to be back.

It was great 2 night stay, very close to the airport, helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, we saw cute bunnies around the grass area, very close to a mall about 5-7 min walk. The only a little bit inconvenient was there was no Air conditioner, there was a huge fan which helped a little bit, but it could’ve been better if there was an A/C. But as they say most hotels in Edinburgh does not have AC because it’s always a pleasant weather. But there can be times (not all the time) a warmer weather comes and an AC would be good.

The staff are helpful. There are a lot of amenities you can order for free, in case you had forgotten to bring. The room was a bit smaller than I expected, as for a double bed and a single bed. Our room was facing the construction site. It was a bit noisy. And maybe the previous family had opened the window, there are a few moths flying in the room.
