Well, what a cheerful and helpful reception staff, indeed all staff happy and enjoying the job! Great to see. 1 night stop but the hotel was cool trendy and modern. Spotless clean, quiet rooms gave a great night sleep in a comfy large bed. Shower, monsoon style, washed the dreams away and off to a decent breakfast (sausage a touch bland). Subterranean swimming and spa looked fantastic and the bar was great with quirky pool cue seating. Car park tight and only 15 slots so not easy. Other than that, yes I would come back.

I've never stayed in a hostel before, let alone in a former jail revamped as one ! Besides the gimmick, the Court is a wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Edinburgh, whether on a budget or not : fantastic location near the St Giles cathedral (where city tours seemingly start from), super friendly staff and surprisingly clean amenities (first time experience in a hostel so I didn't know what to expect quite frankly). Would definitely recommend !

Location is good. You can go to most key attractions by foot.
They have a room for Laundry which is good for long stay.
And you have a full equiped kitchen in the room.
Other than this, no much service provided. The staff say no for almost everything you ask.

Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

I booked a a night within the hotel on Halloween as we had booked a walking ghost tour within the city. It was a bit of a walk down to the Royal mile taking about 25 mins but as it was dry it was ok. The hotel was fantastic, the reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The entrance lobby was warm and clean, very inviting. All of the corridors were very well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious with a queen sized bed, seating area and a good sized bathroom. The room again was nicely decorated and well equipped. Due to the restrictions the hotel restaurant was closed but we were allowed to order food into the hotel and the receptionist even pointed us in the direction of local shops. I would recommend the hotel and will most probably stay again.

We used this hotel following arrival at the airport from overseas and night prior to departure . It was ideal. Nice location, friendly staff. It was pleasant to walk around the wooded campus and neighborhoods of adjacent Herriot-Watt University. We will be back. ... I would note however, that some may feel the privacy in the bathroom is a bit compromised by the construction of the bathroom doors and side panels (opaque material which lets the light shine through, and large see-through cracks between the door and the adjacent wall - not completely private).

I booked it for a night, got their a little early in the morning. While Jacob was upfront, No Rooms now.
Then enters Chris, the rock star manager. All I had to tell him was that I'm a Hilton honors member and the room was allotted immediately. Thank you again Chris, I truly appreciate it.
The hotel room has everything you could imagine for and the rooms are quiet. Despite of being next to the airport.
To get here once you come out of the airport, don't go in the direction of trams, instead if trams are on your left side, walk towards your right and it is literally a 5 minutes walk from the airport.
The bar at the hotel is fancy but no happy hours :(
Working kitchen with limited food options but is very manageable.
The breakfast was better than most of the other hotels for sure.
They do have a big parking lot as well just in case you need to park here.

MMiuhangjiayiThe first night was 119 pounds and the second night was ¥2842 for the same room type because the second day was a Friday. I understand that, but what I don’t understand is that if I extend my stay, I have to change rooms and I have to check out in the morning and I have to check out again at 3pm. The most interesting thing about checking in is that the room is small and the double bed is as big as the single bed. A person in the small room has to turn sideways when walking. I went to the front desk to ask why there was such a big difference in the same room type. The answer was that I had to pay another 25 pounds to change. The larger room is really speechless. In short, everyone must check clearly when booking a room. Don’t think that expensive conditions are good. Don’t waste money.
GGuest UserThis was our second time at this hotel and we stayed for almost a week. You can't beat the location on George Street, right downtown, close to shops and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice. The king bed had a good mattress and pillows. There is a safe. They seem to have made upgrades since our last pre-covid stay, including air-conditioning in (all?) rooms. As you would expect in a big city, the rooms are quite small and the hotel is not exactly quiet; also depending on where your room faces. We were right by the elevator, which I generally don't like. I wonder if it's because we booked through our credit card and not direct. It seems there is sometimes a ”penalty'. The rooms are supplied daily with water, delicious cookies and snacks. You can make individual cups of drip coffee in a filter, which is much better than instant coffee but not as good as a Nespresso, IMHO. We had breakfast included and the Printing Press is just wonderful, for breakfast, any meal and later evening cocktails and whiskey. The Burr & Co is a coffee shop, also right next door, with tables outside. Love that place. The hotel has great service. We lost a suitcase and got daily support in checking on the status and changing the address on the delivery. There seemed to be a shortage on hair conditioner and we didn't have a sign for do-not-disturb the first day and got woken at 8 AM, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of the hotel stay. We expect to be back.
JJACSUNFirst of all, it's a hotel that's very close to the train station and there's also a nice shopping mall nearby. Secondly, the bed in the hotel is soft and comfortable, and the reception staff is also very friendly! The fly in the ointment is that the air conditioner in the room can not adjust the temperature quickly, and it is a little cold to sleep at night. The variety of breakfast is also a little monotonous, but the value for money is still very good
GGuest UserSolo visit as visiting the city, Edinburgh always been on my ”bucket” list and this hotel is just a gem! Not a 5 star building but most definitely a 5 star experience. I was met by Anthony who checked me in promptly and efficiently, he was very informative and helped me with a few tourist things. My room was perfectly fine, a little dated but nothing drastic. Breakfast perfectly cooked and everything you could have wanted, loved the porridge. I will be back again!
Yy619qThe location of the hotel is a bit far from the urban area. For those who like to play golf, this hotel is good, convenient, cheap to play, and you can rent clubs. The hotel room is not big and clean, and the waiters are friendly. You can only eat in the restaurant if you make an appointment in advance. You can order directly in the bar without making an appointment. It's good to enjoy the beautiful scenery while drinking beer.
AAnonymous UserThe gold location of edinburgh, close to wavley train station. There is one more point to mention, the room is a little small. Since it is refurnished and open for a long time,.the decoration is a little old. If you like a new hotel, i recommend voco edinburgh. However, if you prefer a hotel with great location, hilton will be your choice.
GGuest UserWell located and staff helpful both during our visit and via email leading up to it. Hotel is off the beaten track and was quiet so no outside noise to speak of. Room we were allocated was just about ok size wise, older style furnishings and was ok, very clean though as was the bathroom which again was ok. Breakfast had plenty of choice but server appeared to be under pressure with the amount of people as the times had been shortened to only 2 hours available, 7am to 9am - I assume to accommodate the larger party who were getting theirs at 10am. As a result our breakfast felt rushed , no toast or drink refills. Not a great problem at breakfast but don't really want to be rushing breakfast after a night out in Edinburgh. In summary for the price paid, excellent location and good staff, decor is dated but clean and adequate, would I return ? yes if the prices was more competitive.
DDennis StefanI was amazed by how good this hotel was. A very modern room with a comfortable bed. Also, good service, top location and overall very clean. Would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a place to stay while visiting the city of Edinburgh.
SSherwinI booked the room for a solo travel and the amenities were really good. The room was sufficient for a single person and was cleanly maintained. The location of the hotel is awesome, near the rail station and close to the city centre. The receptionist were polite and helped with bag storage before check-in and after check-out untill your train. Overall, the experience of staying at the place was really good.
