Well, what a cheerful and helpful reception staff, indeed all staff happy and enjoying the job! Great to see. 1 night stop but the hotel was cool trendy and modern. Spotless clean, quiet rooms gave a great night sleep in a comfy large bed. Shower, monsoon style, washed the dreams away and off to a decent breakfast (sausage a touch bland). Subterranean swimming and spa looked fantastic and the bar was great with quirky pool cue seating. Car park tight and only 15 slots so not easy. Other than that, yes I would come back.

First of all I would like to say I am dissapointed , we stayed in the KM apartment and was nothing like the photo’s! The apartment was much smaller, shower didn’t work correctly and was miniscule and even so the thermostatic adjuster was terribly placed behind the sliding halve door soaking you in freezing water every time we tried to turn it on aswell as this the shower temperature was temperamental and changed hot and cold in the shower ,bathroom was tiny and felt dirty, the kitchen was very standard, I was under the belief that the bedroom floor would be much bigger but was tiny, the TV didn’t work as it should the ironing board was broken. The window view was terribly looking directly into other windows and a wall. When arrived I had to park at the NCP car park which was about a 10/15 minute walk away from the foyer but did receive a discount on it. The apartment was in a Mecca for university students and finding our apartment was like a maze, the price of the stay at this apartment was very overpriced for one night I could’ve payed roughly the same amount for the same night at the Sheraton and sure I would’ve had a much nicer stay! I hate to write bad reviews but the stay at KM apartments was very disappointing, I truly wish I booked to stay the night at the Sheraton in Edinburgh instead! I seriously doubt I will ever stay at any KM hotel/apartment again after this I had high hopes for a spacious up to date apartment but was dissapointed. I hope they contact me and rectify and out belief back in me for their business.

I booked a a night within the hotel on Halloween as we had booked a walking ghost tour within the city. It was a bit of a walk down to the Royal mile taking about 25 mins but as it was dry it was ok. The hotel was fantastic, the reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The entrance lobby was warm and clean, very inviting. All of the corridors were very well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious with a queen sized bed, seating area and a good sized bathroom. The room again was nicely decorated and well equipped. Due to the restrictions the hotel restaurant was closed but we were allowed to order food into the hotel and the receptionist even pointed us in the direction of local shops. I would recommend the hotel and will most probably stay again.

The hotel only check in at 4:00pm. only at 4:00pm... many guests arrive in the day time and wait for a long time for check in..... long long queue. The staff gave me a wrong room with no window, that is very narrow, which I have reserved a standard single room with a queen bed. the room with no window, no wifi, no network...and seems that I cananot breath in the room... and I have to go back to the lobby again ..... the door card is not that good... I have to go to the reception to activate the card every day...yes. .. every day... sometime, I found out that when I tried to open my room door...but it failed... and I have to go back to the lobby again.... it is quite annoying. The location is OK. with bus to the airport and the tram and bus station nearby. The breakfast is good, with plenty of choices. The food is the same every day.

Stayed her for three nights October 2022 with the Scotland Rugby League team prior to the Rugby League World Cup. What a great find this hotel was. Spotlessly clean and so very comfortable. Bedrooms roomy and the beds as comfortable as you can get. The food was excellent, and they catered for our every need. The breakfasts were amazing and the service was beyond reproach . Special shout out to our servers Chez, Shannon and the boss Karen. Could not have been better. A massive thank you and a great start to our World Rugby League Cup campaign . Defo use this hotel again.

I am very fortunate to choose to stay here in the end, I had previously wanted to change to a hotel in the city center. The facilities of this old castle hotel are very in place. In 2008, an elevator was added so that the pain of carrying boxes to climb the building was avoided. Breakfast is very generous, in fact it is enough to eat only the buffet on its dining table. Ordered its traditional English breakfast on the first day and couldn't eat a lot of it. The room was large, the bathroom and bedroom were heated and it was very hot. Before going to bed, they had to be closed. The hotel staff are very welcoming and the service is in place. Finally, I have to say that their desserts are delicious, so try them!

Once again, my wife and I were treated to a wonderful stay. Many of the staff remember us after our many visits and take the time to seek us out to ask after us and have a short conversation. It's obvious that they wish to do this, rather than doing it to make an impression. This hotel is outstanding in all respects. A special mention to Donna. My wife uses a wheelchair and Donna looks after us at breakfast. Always over and above what is expected. Other mentions to Pauline on reception (always a pleasure), Fiona on reception and a new face on reception, Hannah, who made us feel like old friends and was really efficient. There are others, but unfortunately, I can't remember names. Suffice it to say that the entire staff make us feel special. Just one thing; please repair the push-button door. It's very temperamental and it's unfair that the reception staff (who always hurry to help) should be taken away from their duties. Thank you for another wonderful experience

We stayed out of Edinburgh as much cheaper than in Edinburgh on a busy weekend - went to watch Harry Styles at Murrayfield! The first night wasn’t great as our room was noisy as the window wouldn’t close and at breakfast lots of items were not topped up. However, the staff moved us the next day and breakfast was much better stocked the next 2 mornings. The staff were so friendly and helpful - particularly Clare and Kayleigh. It was very easy and cheap to get the train into Edinburgh

GGuest UserI booked it for a night, got their a little early in the morning. While Jacob was upfront, No Rooms now. Then enters Chris, the rock star manager. All I had to tell him was that I'm a Hilton honors member and the room was allotted immediately. Thank you again Chris, I truly appreciate it. The hotel room has everything you could imagine for and the rooms are quiet. Despite of being next to the airport. To get here once you come out of the airport, don't go in the direction of trams, instead if trams are on your left side, walk towards your right and it is literally a 5 minutes walk from the airport. The bar at the hotel is fancy but no happy hours :( Working kitchen with limited food options but is very manageable. The breakfast was better than most of the other hotels for sure. They do have a big parking lot as well just in case you need to park here.

GGuest UserAmazing stay! Went to Edinburgh as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The staff went out of their way to make it special and even came to the room to wish him Happy Birthday, along with a card and prosecco! They were friends, welcoming and informative. A beautiful, modern hotel and they really have thought of everything (milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, water etc). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

GGuest UserI am shocked to see the hotel with a 4-star rating on here. Everything about our experience was brilliant. We visited the hotel towards the end of March for a friends wedding. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the drive in, the main reception building, the function room. A really special place to tie the knot. I think I can speak for most of the wedding party in saying the service was absolutely brilliant. All the staff were so attentive and really went above and beyond in catering to everybody’s needs. A special mention to Sofie and Johanna who were tending the bar. They really outdid themselves, professional and extremely pleasant throughout. I can’t imagine how hard it must be dealing with so many merry party goes but they did it with a smile and really went the extra mile and helped to make it a really great day. But thank you to everyone at the Dalmahoy, it was an amazing day.

CChristinaAmazing overall. Only thing that can better are: noise level within the corridors of the room floor. The room wall is so thin that you could hear all noises. The water pressure of the shower is pathetically low. I was given a room with a view (view to the roof that is, see photo) 😅. Anyway the whole location and friendly staff made up for what’s missing.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is in a very good location, not far from the train station. Many attractions can be reached on foot. Shopping and eating around are also convenient! When I started checking in, I was given a room on the underground floor. I was not satisfied. After communicating and coordinating with the front desk immediately, I was moved to a room on the 8th floor. The room on the 8th floor had a view of Calton Mountain, which was very nice. of!

GGuest UserI really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Carlton, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very central to everything right in the heart next to the busy bustling city centre. My room I booked was a King Deluxe very spacious, clean, quiet room my en-suite bathroom was a wet room lots of space, I found no fault with my room. I ordered the continental breakfast in the morning staff were efficient, and the buffet breakfast offered gave a lot of good quality choices unlimited hot drinks, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, toast, plenty on offer. I used the express checkout box as I was leaving in the morning there was a long queue as many guests were checking out so that suited me thank you so much to all the staff I had a wonderful experience.

GGuest UserWell located and staff helpful both during our visit and via email leading up to it. Hotel is off the beaten track and was quiet so no outside noise to speak of. Room we were allocated was just about ok size wise, older style furnishings and was ok, very clean though as was the bathroom which again was ok. Breakfast had plenty of choice but server appeared to be under pressure with the amount of people as the times had been shortened to only 2 hours available, 7am to 9am - I assume to accommodate the larger party who were getting theirs at 10am. As a result our breakfast felt rushed , no toast or drink refills. Not a great problem at breakfast but don't really want to be rushing breakfast after a night out in Edinburgh. In summary for the price paid, excellent location and good staff, decor is dated but clean and adequate, would I return ? yes if the prices was more competitive.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel for 4 days. We had a lovely big room, very clean. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet place, very convenient as it is a walking distance from the train station, shops, busses and tram just round the corner and not far from the city centre, The only drawback for us was that we had to go out for breakfast as this hotel has 6 houses, all have their own doors therefore one has to go out to the first house for breakfast and each house has few steps so going up and down was not very good for us . There are no lifts although we had a downstairs room. We would have preferred if they have a restaurant . The breakfast room is a bit small and can be very crowded at times,
