I had specifically requested a high-floor room during my booking at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh, but unfortunately, I was assigned a room on the ground floor. This was quite disappointing as I was hoping for a better view, but the window offered no significant scenery. The room itself was decent and met basic expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The location is great, situated next to a shopping mall and very close to Princes Street, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing. However, the experience was slightly marred by not receiving the room I had requested.

Excellent location, clean and well equipped. However we were told ”towels are only changed once a week”, although when requested we were given a new set but the old ones weren't collected for 2 days. In addition we repeatedly asked for a kitchen sink plug so as to save running hot water. We were told maintenance would sort it but after our 4 day stay still no plug.

We are so satisfied with Aparthotel! It is very clean and has everything we need. Especially when you want to stay in the same place for a few days and don't know where to eat, this hotel is equipped with basic cooking ware, rubbish and recycling bins and a dishwasher! Is is also located in between the train station and city centre. When you feel tired you can always go back for a rest before heading out for dinner.

I made my booking through Trip.com, where it was clearly stated that an extra bed could be added to our room for an additional charge of £30 per night. However, upon our arrival at the hotel, we were informed that the room we had booked did not accommodate an extra bed. Furthermore, we were told that a three-person room would incur an additional charge of £40 per night. The service is extremely terrible and I feel some kind of discrimination from some staff.

It is situated in a prime location. Everything is easily accessible. The room is cleaned. However, the entrance of the hotel is a bit obscure. It is quite annoying especially when it is raining and you have a few pieces of luggage to carry. Not full set of amenities is provided. Other than that, I think it is a good choice for sightseeing around Edinburgh.

It is located inside the University of Edinburgh, with convenient parking. Except for the lack of an elevator, everything else is perfect, but there are also hotel staff who are very enthusiastic to help with luggage, whether checking in or checking out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic and the explanation is very detailed. It's a pity that I left early the next morning and didn't enjoy the legendary great breakfast.

Hotel has a very good location, if you travel by tram. It’s basically on the way from airport to city centre, 3-minute walk from tram stop. Room was alright, spacious and with a good view. Cleanliness was acceptable though it had a dog smell on the sofa, carpet and in the toilet, quite unpleasant. Spa zone downstairs is amazing, wonderful jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, enjoyed it all. Gym also looks nice. Many shops and even restaurants are in a walking distance, very convenient. Hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful.

AAnonymous UserWe booked this last minute and so glad they have availability because a previous booking had pet restrictions. It's a little off the city centre but there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel and several buses (#14, 30 & 33) can take you there in about 20 minutes. Room is very spacious and because we have a dog, they upgraded us to the family room on the ground floor and paid an extra £30 for deep cleaning the room upon checkout. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Love the toiletries because it's in big, refillable bottles; they have a coffee machine (like Nespresso) but sadly it wasn't working. They do have instant coffee and tea options which were great. The room gets too warm sometimes but easy to turn off the heater... Better warm than a freezing room. 😉 Palace of Holyrood is a 30-minute walk from The Scholar. Then from there, you can take Bus#35 to take you back to the hotel.

CCookieFDWe stayed at Wilde just before New Year and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic. Just behind the castle and around the corner from Grassmarket. The staff were fantastic, from the minute we arrived till the minute we checked out. Nothing is an issue to them. The apartment was both modern and well equipped. I would definitely return, but would get a room on the 1st floor. As the lower rooms you can hear people above moving furniture etc. Not the company's fault, just inconsiderate guests that you can't choose!

VVivLuWe arrived in the morning and the room was not ready yet. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the storage room. The check in was smooth, the room is big, the staff are friendly and helpful. The only minus point was the air conditioning was not functioning well in the room and the temperature could not be controlled from the room. It’s summer so the room was quite stuffy. Overall was good.

WwheeedadThe hotel is conveniently located near the city centre so we were able to walk to most places which allowed us to save on taxi and bus rides. There are also supermarkets nearby and the kitchen was well-equipped which is great for a parent who has a toddler who is a fussy easter. I gave cleanliness a -1 because the rug was dusty and wasn't properly vaccummed, and another -1 for amenities because there were some parts of the apartment that were not well maintained e.g. the partition door was hard to close and we could not close it properly + a substantial part of the kitchen counter was chipped off.

GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all…. The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling. When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned. The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!! Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed Room 210, 26.10-28.10 2024

TtszchingThe time required to walk from the train station to the hotel is about 20 mins. There are some stores near the hotel. There are 2 floors for the hotel. We live in a room on the 1st floor. The size is decent and the equipment is sufficient. However, the window is at the height of a peoples's head. The people outside can easily look into the room and privacy is a issue. Also, there are some problems in the bathroom. The light in the bathroom is automatic and this is a disadvantage. When I sit on the toilet, the sensor in the bathroom cannot detect my movement and will turn the light off every minute. It will be a lot better if I can switch the lights on manually. Also, the method of changing the temperature of the shower is very unhuman. Overall, it is a fine aparthotel but there are some problems
