Hotel breakfast is general, the location is remote, it is not convenient to find. However, the surrounding environment is beautiful and comfortable, the front desk service is very kind, the room is quite large, the hotel building itself is very old, it is somewhat old.
I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water.
Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget.
The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi.
The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city.
Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, friendly staff and great location, will definitely return 😃

The traditional English breakfast is very substantial, the taste is OK, the service is welcoming, the room is small and there is no extra bed, but the bed is quite large, three people can barely sleep, the bathroom is clean, the place is not particularly easy to find, the front desk is half basement one. Overall feels good 👍
I was a little concerned that the bathroom was a little dirty, but the bedding and other amenities were very clean.
The stairs are a little steep, so it may be a little difficult if you have a large suitcase.
However, it is excellent value for money and is close to a tram stop, so I highly recommend it.
The hotel is located in the West End area, which is the consulate area. There are several nice hotels in the area, all with very similar buildings, and the B&B is one of them that is very cozy. The reception staff were very welcoming and attentive. The room was not too big or too small, with beautiful lattice windows. There is a small library in the hotel (pictures 2 and 3), which is elegantly decorated, quiet and comfortable. There are many restaurants to choose from within 500 meters. The hotel's breakfast area is not big, but very cozy. The B&B is not far from the Licorice Market Railway Station (Figure 1), and there are bus and long-distance bus stations nearby, so the transportation is convenient. Suitable for parents and children, business trips, especially for sightseeing guests. recommend!
The flight was late late at night from London to Edinburgh, and it was more than one o'clock in the morning. The reception was on duty and it was very nice! The room was directly above the entrance, the bedding was very comfortable, the breakfast was great the next day, but the space was limited. You have to queue up and have time to enjoy it slowly!
Very nice and clean hotel. Spacious room with very high ceiling which was very nice. Lovely view from outside the (massive) window in the room. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Room was well equipped with an iron, kettle, hair dryer, and a fan. The only thing is that there is no air con but for now the fan did its job which made the room temp good. Overall very good hotel, would come back.

Everything was overall very good. The location was exceptional. The rooms were so handy and practical, there was a quite functional and almost fully equipped kitchen and there was even a washing machine. I was planning to have breakfast outside - in a coffee shop or bakery, but i changed my plans to have my breakfast in the room sine the room was like studio and had given me a cosy feeling in the middle of the city center. The only downfall was that instead of keycards, they gave me a pincode (like numeric password) to open the doors and the codes were hand written by receptions and handed to customers just like that. This seemed to me not very safe while it may sound somehow practical to some other people in other ways. Maybe i need to get used to it if this method is going to be applied everywhere in the future, who knows.

Very good, the service is very enthusiastic. When we arrived at the hotel at night, the handsome guy at the front desk upgraded our room. It is super large with a living room and two washbasins. The environment is also very clean and tidy. It is very close to Edinburgh Railway Station. You can see the entrance of the railway station when you come out of the back door of the hotel. If I have the opportunity to come to Edinburgh next time, I will still choose this hotel

Outstanding
SSrini SHeeton Concept aparthotel is a little gem and a great value for money. The apartment had all the amenities needed, a comfortable bed. It is close to Princess street and to all the restaurants and bars. The staff are amazing and helpful. Well recommended.
GGuest UserI had specifically requested a high-floor room during my booking at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh, but unfortunately, I was assigned a room on the ground floor. This was quite disappointing as I was hoping for a better view, but the window offered no significant scenery. The room itself was decent and met basic expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The location is great, situated next to a shopping mall and very close to Princes Street, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing. However, the experience was slightly marred by not receiving the room I had requested.
GGuest UserAbsolutely fantastic hotel. I've been going to Edinburgh for well over 30 years and stayed on this occasion for my 50th. I could not have picked a nicer place. Friendly family ran hotel, nothing too much trouble. Our room was just perfect. Huge room a very comfy bed and modern bathroom. The location is perfect, being right by Haymarket Train Station and the tram system. Believe me, I've stayed right in the centre and down Leith end but this location is perfect, close to the main centre but quiet enough of a night. Keep up the fabulous work, I'll be back.
AAsifA pleasant stay. Hotel room clean and tidy as was reception and dining. Staff were friendly though housekeeping was slow and had not cleaned my room when I was out for the day, so I returned to an unmade room. Because I’d travelled the night before, after a morning and early afternoon out, I wanted daytime rest and housekeeping walked in on me when I was taking a short nap late afternoon. Said they’d be back in an hour but when they came in I was showering so the room didn’t get made up as they were now going off duty. Offered to replenish my coffee, so at least made a gesture.
Otherwise a pleasant stay. Nicely located in the heart of the city just minutes away from local attractions, the ferris wheel and the train station.
GGuest UserThe sanitary environment is good, the heating is sufficient, the beds are clean and comfortable, the hot shower facilities are complete, and the sound insulation effect is good. It is very suitable to stay with friends when traveling. It is highly recommended.
SsrchmzThe hotel's location is fantastic, incredibly close to Old Town and historical landmarks.
Everything is within walking distance, so there's no need for public transportation, which is a big plus.
The cleanliness and amenities (like tea, coffee, and filtered water) were sufficient for a comfortable stay.
We appreciated how quickly they addressed our note about cleaning, resolving the issue promptly.
However, there's no on-site parking, which can add extra costs for those traveling by car.
Even with the discount voucher they provide, parking in the area remains expensive, as is typical in city centers.
A big thank you to the friendly and hospitable staff for their excellent service!

Very Good
BBrian PYI stayed second time in Yotel Edinburgh during my trip in Scotland since I wanted to be Edinburg the first and last night when I returned to London.
Yotel is a nice hotel with location right in the downtown and good for me since I took bus in and out Edinburgh airport, but not perfect location if travelers take train.
GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed

GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus.
In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
