The traditional English breakfast is very substantial, the taste is OK, the service is welcoming, the room is small and there is no extra bed, but the bed is quite large, three people can barely sleep, the bathroom is clean, the place is not particularly easy to find, the front desk is half basement one. Overall feels good 👍

I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget. The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi. The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city. Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations.

The hotel is located in the West End area, which is the consulate area. There are several nice hotels in the area, all with very similar buildings, and the B&B is one of them that is very cozy. The reception staff were very welcoming and attentive. The room was not too big or too small, with beautiful lattice windows. There is a small library in the hotel (pictures 2 and 3), which is elegantly decorated, quiet and comfortable. There are many restaurants to choose from within 500 meters. The hotel's breakfast area is not big, but very cozy. The B&B is not far from the Licorice Market Railway Station (Figure 1), and there are bus and long-distance bus stations nearby, so the transportation is convenient. Suitable for parents and children, business trips, especially for sightseeing guests. recommend!

I was a little concerned that the bathroom was a little dirty, but the bedding and other amenities were very clean. The stairs are a little steep, so it may be a little difficult if you have a large suitcase. However, it is excellent value for money and is close to a tram stop, so I highly recommend it.

The flight was late late at night from London to Edinburgh, and it was more than one o'clock in the morning. The reception was on duty and it was very nice! The room was directly above the entrance, the bedding was very comfortable, the breakfast was great the next day, but the space was limited. You have to queue up and have time to enjoy it slowly!

Very nice and clean hotel. Spacious room with very high ceiling which was very nice. Lovely view from outside the (massive) window in the room. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Room was well equipped with an iron, kettle, hair dryer, and a fan. The only thing is that there is no air con but for now the fan did its job which made the room temp good. Overall very good hotel, would come back.

Amazing stay at Market Street Hotel! The room was superbly located just opposite the Edinburgh train station. It is fully accessible via lifts, so you do not have to worry about lugging the luggage through any stairs. It is opposite the train station yet the rooms are soundproof and quiet. The room was clean and beautifully furbished. The concierge Miles was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is also conveniently-located near to the Royal Mile. I highly recommend this hotel to all travelers.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. I've been going to Edinburgh for well over 30 years and stayed on this occasion for my 50th. I could not have picked a nicer place. Friendly family ran hotel, nothing too much trouble. Our room was just perfect. Huge room a very comfy bed and modern bathroom. The location is perfect, being right by Haymarket Train Station and the tram system. Believe me, I've stayed right in the centre and down Leith end but this location is perfect, close to the main centre but quiet enough of a night. Keep up the fabulous work, I'll be back.

GGuest UserGreat location for our trip to celebrate Hogmanay. You can’t get a better location for the festivities for the Princess street party. Traveling with a baby, they already had the cot in the room before we had arrived which was great. The staff were super kind and attentive at concierge and reception. Breakfast had a good selection if you a hot Scottish breakfast. Only downside was the parking which was a 5 min drive away ( we weren’t packing light!) Overall, solid experience

GGuest UserThis hotel is a short walk to and from from the airport. The staff were always polite and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The lifts were a bit slow, but you could use the stairs. The lounge is huge and the breakfast included vegan options. I only wish there had been a fridge in the room.

AAsifA pleasant stay. Hotel room clean and tidy as was reception and dining. Staff were friendly though housekeeping was slow and had not cleaned my room when I was out for the day, so I returned to an unmade room. Because I’d travelled the night before, after a morning and early afternoon out, I wanted daytime rest and housekeeping walked in on me when I was taking a short nap late afternoon. Said they’d be back in an hour but when they came in I was showering so the room didn’t get made up as they were now going off duty. Offered to replenish my coffee, so at least made a gesture. Otherwise a pleasant stay. Nicely located in the heart of the city just minutes away from local attractions, the ferris wheel and the train station.

SsrchmzThe hotel's location is fantastic, incredibly close to Old Town and historical landmarks. Everything is within walking distance, so there's no need for public transportation, which is a big plus. The cleanliness and amenities (like tea, coffee, and filtered water) were sufficient for a comfortable stay. We appreciated how quickly they addressed our note about cleaning, resolving the issue promptly. However, there's no on-site parking, which can add extra costs for those traveling by car. Even with the discount voucher they provide, parking in the area remains expensive, as is typical in city centers. A big thank you to the friendly and hospitable staff for their excellent service!

GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all…. The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling. When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned. The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!! Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed Room 210, 26.10-28.10 2024

GGuest UserLovely groups and views. Comfortable bed and reasonable sized room, but the shower curtain was smelly, and we had to ask for it to be changed. It took several phone calls and nearly an hour before someone came and changed it. Breakfast was quite good, but no eggs benedict offered, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the pool was packed with children and families who didn't appear to be stating at the hotel, and the timings for adults only swimming were before breakfast and after dinner. I did not consider this a proper 5-star hotel facility since it seemed less private and more public baths. Having seen how busy the golf was, I felt maybe this isn't a private membership golf and spa hotel anymore. All in all, I did have a comfortable stay but found the hotel not private enough to make it a special experience, which is what I expected for the price and given its previous reputation in the community and in reviews.

AAlex Cheung HMSituated in the Old Town area, it is just 15 minutes walking distance from the Edinburgh Waverley Station and there are lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms of the hotel are not that spacious (and some of them do not have a window so it is rather dark if you turn off everything) but is just right fit for everyone. The staff is very helpful and friendly too. Will definitely come again.

GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus. In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
