Advantages:
1) The location is very good, right on Princess Street, not far from the train station and the castle;
2) The view outside the window is very good, facing the church, you can see Edinburgh Castle, and the night view through the glass is quite good, you can refer to the scenery in the photo;
3) As a hotel apartment, the kitchen equipment in the room is basically complete, and friends who love cooking can use it with confidence;
Disadvantages:
1) There is no reception, if you have any questions, you can only communicate by email or call. When we arrived at the hotel, we found that the Access Code given could not open the door to enter the room, so we could only call the office to communicate. The customer service can only help you solve the problem on the phone, and will not send someone to solve it on the spot. Note⚠️: You need to enter the Access Code to enter the first floor door and the room. The activation time of the Code is 3 pm on the day of check-in, and the expiration time is 11 am on the day of check-out. That is to say, if you arrive at the hotel before 3 o'clock on the day of check-in, you cannot enter, because your Access Code has not been activated and the input is invalid. You can only accompany your beloved suitcase on the street. Check-out time is 11 a.m., and the cleaning staff will put the cleaning tools at the door of the room early, waiting for you to leave the room and then come to clean the room.
2) There is no elevator, and it is really not easy to carry the luggage upstairs. Single ladies are advised not to try unless there is no luggage.
3) The sound insulation is very poor. I stayed for two nights. There were no guests in the next room on the first night, and it felt acceptable. I didn't receive too many disturbances when sleeping at night. On the second night, there were guests in the next room. We could hear them talking, opening and closing doors, and walking on the road clearly. Friends with light sleep should be mentally prepared.
4) The noise outside the window is very loud. The window of the room faces the road, and the sirens of ambulances can be heard no less than ten times a night, and they are particularly harsh. At night, there will be groups of drunk people who make a lot of noise and "perform to their heart's content" downstairs. One wave left, and another wave came, no less than five waves a night. It was not until 3 a.m. that it was quiet.
5) There are no toothbrushes, toothpaste or disposable slippers in the room. We recommend that you bring your own.

Convenient location, a bit far from parking, the nearby NCP charges are too expensive.

There is no elevator, you have to carry your luggage by yourself 😥 You must check out at 11 o'clock, and the place where you temporarily store your luggage is at least a 12-minute walk from the apartment. Hard to get a taxi 😤
Good location but be prepared for stairs. Location was excellent. Very central. Very convenient when coming from airport on the tram. Code for door worked well for us. Apartment very clean throughout. Plenty of lovely bars and restaurants nearby. Stairs up to apartment were quite the challenge. Could not get hot water in shower/bathroom.

I wanted to spend some ME time and visit with family, but I wanted somewhere more comfortable than just a hotel room. Well, this Studio Apartment was perfect. Open plan kitchen with every mod con you could ask for, small dining area and a large sofa and chair with wall mounted tv. The double bedroom had sliding doors to access. Lovely bathroom with a walk-in shower, and the best part was a heated floor. I was on the first floor with 2 large windows with views of Edinburgh Castle, which was The West End of Princes St. There were lots of places locally to eat out at, also takeaways and local supermarket. I had a very enjoyable 2-night stay and loved the downtime I could have without the formality of a hotel setting. There was noise as you are on an extremely busy road but it is a city break, The only note I would say is this would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are stairs and no lift.

Wow... perfect location... beautiful clean room... fabulous view of Princess Street and castle... could not have asked for better... we stayed in apt 3... there are no lifts, which we were aware of but still hard work getting cases up 3 floors... but worth it... would definitely stay again.

Worst experience ever. The property is super dirty. The entrance had strong smell of pee, garbage all around, dirty stains, pukes all around. I paid $1000/€800 for 2nights thinking this would be a nice property. It is the worst ever. Bums and sketchy people at the entrance and made us very uncomfortable to go in and out. Please avoid this property. No elevator, no service, no live person on site, not enough towels, no luggage storage. For this kind of money we paid, we could have stayed at 4 or 5 star hotels.
Response from Property: Hello, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear about your experience. Since we are self-catering apartments, we do not have people working on-site and unfortunately, we do not advertise this property as with a lift. As per your check-in instructions, check-in time starts at 3pm, but if you arrive early, you are more than welcome to drop your bags off at 28 Thistle Street, we are open daily from 9am to 5pm. We also do clean the entrance every day. Kind regards, Reda Destiny Scotland

Lovely apartments amazing view cannot fault - shutters kept out any noise from street. Tesco next door which is handy as was being able to drop off our bags before and after leaving the flat at the local office. Clean and tidy and felt authentic with a modern kitchen

Surprisingly good apartment. Stayed here for a long weekend with my daughter mid-January 2022. It’s about a 15 minute easy walk from the train station and very easy to find. Apartment itself is in a great location (think it was apartment 2), facing Princes Street. It is directly above a closed shop, with a McDonald’s to the left. So noise may be a problem - we live in Central London so didn’t really notice it at all. Bedrooms are at the back of the property so the noise isn’t an issue overnight. As somebody else pointed out, the main door area is a bit dirty as it’s on the Main Street. When we found the place on Street View that did put us off a bit, but don’t let it worry you - it’s minor. Property itself was modern and well maintained - dishwasher (no tablets /detergent though that we could find), washing machine, coffee machine etc. Decent state of repair too although with some bits that could do with tidying up. Bathrooms had underfloor heating too which was good - and also pretty good water pressure in both showers! Important if you like that! All in all we had a great stay, and would happily stay again.

Would have been 4* if booking had been correct Booked Delux 2 bedroom which is advertised as 2 bathroom arrived and apartment was great but only 1 bathroom so phoned and was told only 1 of the delux apartments has 2 bathrooms- sorry!! So they are falsely advertising the apartments We were moved to a Classic 2 bedroom which was much bigger but I’d describe as ‘if Premier Inn did apartments’ I’ve stayed in plenty of Premier Inn hotels but you book them not expecting much but with Destiny Scotland you expect a higher standard. This was our 3rd time using DS won’t be using them again in a hurry I contacted them once home to voice my issues - 1 week later and no response from them

The apartment we stayed in had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and was spacious and clean. Bit of a hike up to the 4th floor with luggage but we are pretty fit, so not a big problem. There were beautiful castle views from the lounge and master bedroom, and the apartment is well located in downtown Princes street . Only letdowns was the washing machine which was broken. There’s a bit of street noise too, if you’re sensitive to that. Overall pretty decent stay.

Just back from a 4 day break in the Princes Street apartments. We were in apartment No.4, a 2 bed apartment. From booking to leaving, this couldn't have been a better experience. Check in was very simple, the apartment itself was spotless and contained all mod cons. Showers brilliant ... beds comfortable ... everywhere warm and comfortable. Really couldn't find anything negative about this place. Absolutely recommended 100%. Just a heads up ... there is no lift so getting to the 3rd and 4th floors can be a bit of a hike, but we were told in advance and it wasn't too much of an issue.
