From airport, take airlink100 and alight at haymaker.
Cross the road and walk back and look for street sign COATES GARDENS . Walk up the slope till you reach the end, there you will see travel lodge right in front of you. Most attractions are walkable and you do not require to buy any bus tickets. Hotel main door facing south east, if you book rooms above main hotel door direction, you will catch morning sun and take beautiful pictures.

Medium size hotel with large room and bathroom. A bit walk from Haymarket station. Nice and friendly staff. The bathroom is quite spacious and the water pressure are high. Clean room and with window.

The hotel is average, the service is bad, there is almost never anyone at the reception, the receptionist is also in charge of the restaurant or he is almost always smoking outside.
We stayed for a week and they didn't clean and we put the sign on the door and they only came in to leave cloths and take out the trash.
We really didn't like it, it's a shame because the room is fine for the hotel it is.

The environment is very good and the rooms are large. It is a 20-25 minute walk from Princes Street and there are light rails to the airport and train station, which is very convenient. The hotel staff answered all questions and was quite nice.

Rude lady at check in and both showers in our 2 rooms did not work. Incredibly hot rooms during the summer time.

Room showed signs of wear & tear as felt tired - as was I, - Lower ground floor so no phone reception, Windows Dirty. Grease smears or similar on bathroom Mirror, Black/ dirty Grout on tiles beside bath Photo's available if requested. Old fashioned bath and Shower combination with off colour non slip material -so bathroom left me with a feeling the bathroom was dirty. 20 minute walk from NCP carpark suggested on website - I have sprained ankle so extremely painful by time of arrival - also fee's were not as advertised - £27.80 for 3.5 hours. Usb2 Phone charger on left side of bed broken Breakfast: Scrambled eggs were Dry and tasted like reconstituted Powdered Eggs, Mushrooms Dry, Sausages Dry, Bacon ok. Carpet outside ground floor kitchen and toilet extremely dirty. The narrowest corridors I've ever experienced so felt claustrophobic

The Haymarket neighbourhood was a very pleasant base for exploring Edinburgh. If you like to walk, you can walk to the Royal Mile or University area in about 30 mins. Our 3rd fl Premier room looked out on a residential area with plenty of trees. We could leave our window open at night without any noise disruption. However, the main floor was always very hot in the hall. It must have been hot in the rooms as well. Perhaps the kitchen isn't well vented? We also had very minimal room servicing (no change of linens offered until the day before departure in an 8-night stay) and we had to retrieve bathroom paper and coffee pods from the reception. They were always friendly, though, so perhaps there is a staffing issue with cleaners? Overall, I'd recommend. Good value, room on the small side, quiet hotel in a nice neighbourhood.
