Admiral Suites - Annapolis

This is the type of hotel my 21 year old college self and friends would have rented for a beach getaway. My mature adult self regrets staying here as a last minute decision on a one day trip to Annapolis and I wish we had driven back home and saved the money. Pros: Staff was friendly, location isn't too far off main road and there is a Dunkin Donuts nearby. Cons: Dirty, old, last updated in 1980s, maybe eary 1990, judging by the cabinets in bath and kitchen. Dusty desk/table chairs hadn't been wiped down in months; chipped bathroom cabinets, dirty carpet, two lights didn't work in our room, no stove light, peeling paint, tears in the sofa, had to ring bell for desk staff that took 5-10 mins to show up at check-in. The ”breakfast included” is a joke - it was instant oatmeal and granola bars. They told me grab and go for breakfast so I expected something like donuts, muffins, egg/sandwiches to heat in a microwave - nope; just granola bars and instant oatmeal. Coffee was horrible, hot tea was available and hot chocolate but no other drink options. It was summer and already hot at 8am so if you didn't want a hot drink you were out of luck at breakfast. The building is designated as smoke free but the very long winding hallway we walked through reeked of smoke. There was one pillow per side of the bed; as a family of 4 that means we had one flat pillow each. It was a horrible night sleep with a loud a/c running. Couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning.
