Extremely disappointed with our 2 night stay at this hotel. We arrived around lunchtime and booked in at Reception, the young female Receptionist asked for our Passports to check in, which we duly provided. As we were early they secured our luggage in a small room. We returned to the hotel after 3pm and asked for the key to our room, at this point a different receptionist asked us to provide our Passports again to check in; we stated that we’d already done so, but he said she hadn’t actually recorded the information and that we’d need to do so again! No sorry for the inconvenience was given! We had previously requested a room on a high floor with a pleasant view as we were celebrating a special anniversary, however we were allocated a room on the 3rd floor with a very dismal view overlooking a car park, apartment block and building porta-cabins and paraphernalia. The room had no bottles of water and when I queried it, the receptionist advised that they don’t provide any, so we we’d need to purchase them from the vending machine in the hotel foyer! We had to leave at 7:45 am on our last day in order to catch a train, we were told that breakfast didn’t start until 8am, so we were offered a packed breakfast instead. We find it it ridiculous that such a hotel doesn’t cater for customer’s who need to leave early, even if it was on a Sunday! The room itself was comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. However, the small Juliette type balcony was filthy and full of cobwebs, it clearly hadn’t been cleaned for some considerable time! We enjoyed staying at this hotel a few years ago, and this is why we returned, however, although the hotel is still in the process of being modernised, the majority of the reception staff appear to have attitude problems and aren’t very welcoming to their guest’s, they’re letting the side down. We shall not return to this hotel again and can’t recommend it to other’s.
