Prince Hotel Takefu

I stayed here to attend a concert at the Sun Dome. I think the hotel itself is old, but the interior has been renovated, and the walls and ceilings are like those found in new hotels. It was spacious and very comfortable. The front desk staff were kind and friendly, and the restaurant next door (or next door?) was also friendly and relaxing. But if you don't have a car, you can't do anything. It's a 20-minute walk from the Shinkansen station, and at night you have to walk along a pitch-black rice field road that is scary at night, or along a bypass road with no streetlights, and since it was raining, I got stuck in puddles many times. If you have a car (and arrive at the hotel while it's still daylight), I think it's a great hidden gem!

I was only able to reserve a smoking room, but when I checked to see if a non-smoking room was available on the day of my stay, I was told that I could change, and they kindly accommodated my request.
