An excellent stay in luxurious accommodation, in a beautiful setting. Service was exceptional from all the team. We were fortunate to have Sabelo as our guide/ ranger - he was very experienced, a good communicator and great company. The reserve has an amazing variety of landscapes to enjoy.

This was an experience of a lifetime! I have never imagined that a vacation could be so rich on positive impressions as the four days we had at the Game Reserve. The safaris were unique as there were only three cars in the entire park and our guide, Jonathan was extremely good at spotting all the different animals. In the camp the accommodation, food and not at least the staff excellent. We enjoyed every moment there and I can only give my highest recommendation to everyone considering going there.

We had a perfectly beautiful experience at Nkomazi. The service, food, lodging, and guide were all outstanding and exceeded our expectations. The evening and morning game drives were excellent with our informative guide. What a great place to get off the grid and enjoy a world-class experience in nature!

During breakfast I was asked what bread I would like with my eggs, to which I replied: rye. We only have Sasko, the waiter replied. If you don't know what Sasko is, I don't think you'll necessarily enjoy this resort. Don't get me wrong; the people are lovely and the property is superb. But the service and in particular the food really doesn't hold up to quality I've gotten used to at game reserves in this part of the world. It was poor for a supposedly 5 star property, which is a shame. And they certainly tried, and promised when I made the booking whether I had any dietary requirements. The very fact that they asked me that made me think they would certainly honor it, but they didn't. My spouse has a low-carb, low-sugar diet, so I asked whether it could be accommodated. They said: of course. To our surprise our first meal consisted out of caramelised sweet potato and breaded chicken in a wrap. The braai that night was perfect, which included my first taste of crocodile, but the sides really didn't live up to my South African expectations. As a South African I know that something like a malva pudding is very hard to mess up. The desert wasn't good, and the custard very obviously came out of a box. I'm not saying you need to cater to foreigners, but when I drive out from the city for a weekend away, it would be nice to have a good treat like a good malva, or even a potato bake which at the very least includes cooked potatoes. I can't recall when last I had potato bake which is why I was so looking forward to it. That's the food, now the game drive. Our guide was kind and tried his best to find us a lion but he wasn't very communicative. As South Africans we're spoiled for choice since we're so close to nature. But when you're owned by Newmark, sell yourself as a five star property, I think the food and service needs a drastic upgrade. The location and facilities are wonderful, but at this price point I can have a much better stay at a property closer to the Kruger.

What. A. Place! From an incredible surounding to a great cosy luxury tent. From the fantastic big bed to the toilet with a view. From great a la carte brunch to savoury local dishes with the highlight of a Bomma (braai with crocodile and other great stuff). From a bath tub outside to a sweet little spa and great massage (for a very cheap price). From the warm damp welcome clots to the degustations on location during the safari and on arrival. But the best about the place was the incredible hospitality. A great guide, Gerhard, who got us to see the game reserve with a lot of knowledge and incredible stalking/tracking skills (an hour tracking to ultimately find 2 leopards). But he also welcomed us every morning with a good cup of coffee and a fun story. He's an incredible photographer with a gynormous camera (sometimes even more impressive than the animals...) The restaurant personnel were also very kind and caring. Guest do was king. Entering the reserve is very doable with a car. I would not recommend it with a low car becaus that might ruin it. Check out is very chill becouse you do a morning safari. That means you only have to leave at 11h. Time enough for a brunch and morning dip in the pool. Wathc out to not trample a snake when you're walking through the lodge site at night.

Very nice, modern lodge with the best rooms( tents) of our whole journey. Very nice food and a great, service-minded staff. Existing and present management. Very good cleaning service and perfect maintained environment. Good place to relax beside game drives.

We stayed here for 4 nights in their honeymoon tent - what an outstanding property! They arranged transfer from the MPQ airport, about a 2.5 hour drive. The property is outstanding! Excellent suites/tents with a spacious layout. The private sitting area outside the tent is great as well, with a splash pool, shower, and bathtub. Restaurant food was excellent, specially the ribs! Staff is super friendly, goes above and beyond what is expected of them. Spa is great as well, we got massages every day between the game drives. Now for the game drive experience - it is in some ways better than what you would get at Kruger or Sabi Sands, in the sense that it’s more organic. You’re actually tracking animals trying to sight them, as opposed to having trackers on the animals and rangers knowing exactly where they are at all times. Also, when you see wildlife, you can spend as much time viewing it, compared to Sabi where you need to be out within 10-15 minutes coz the vehicles behind you are coming in. However, the reserved just doesn’t have much wildlife. There’s a pride of 8 lions, we were fortunate to see them in several occasions. Handful of elephants, one cheetah, one leopard, limited hippos and giraffes. Absolutely no rhinos whatsoever. They did have 2 black rhinos a few years ago, but they unfortunately fell victim to poaching. So game viewing experience overall is pretty mediocre. But the landscape is better then Sabi or Kruger - more open, with mountains all around, making it a truly breathtaking experience. I would recommend doing 2 nights at Kruger or Sabi to get your game viewing fix, and combining it with 2 nights here so get a more natural game viewing experience. Too marks to the staff and rangers for providing an exceptional experience to guests. Jordan was our ranger - simply outstanding!

Orange sunsets, majestic cats and rapid river runs make this a slice of African paradise. Added to this you'll find roaring evening fires, crisp wine and tantalising cuisine. A truly remarkable place.
