African Flair Country Lodge

Very pleasant stopover to our destination to St. Lucia. Host is very reliable and friendly. Breakfast is served on time and was delicious. Big thank you to Jan and the staff.

Very nice stay at the AFCL, we had units 5 and 6 and were very happy. Very spacious, perfectly clean, and friendly host. The beakfast was full english, served on time with a smile and stylish inside the accommodation. Close to the N2 for easy coming and going, the two houses (units 3 - 6) are farer away from the street and quieter.

We stopped over at African Flair Country Lodge on our journey from Durban to Kruger Park, and again on our return home. The accommodation offered everything we needed for a restful break in our journey, with stunning lawns and gardens to relax in. There are shops, restaurants or take-out options nearby for dinner. The breakfast provided in our room each morning was a really great start to the next lap of our travels. We were warmly welcomed each time, and the staff were all helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay over again

First the positive: AFCLodge is adorable. From the decor to the buildings to the gorgeous garden. The checkin was smooth, effortless and pleasant. We got great recommendations and directions for dinner that evening. The breakfast in the morning was a full English breakfast and delicious. The down sides I don't even want to bring up because they are beyond control of the lodge owner. But it might help others to be aware the following. The heavy trucks go constantly all day and all night right past the lodge, bring earplugs. We arrived to no power, load shedding, and this seemed to last from the time we arrived in the evening until the morning. The emergency backup lantern was not properly charged and gave a dim light, just be prepared and have your own torches charged. We were unable to use the microwave to warm up our takeout dinner, no big deal, just a bit disappointing as the staff truly expected the power to return in the evening for a bit. We ran out of water after one shower (second person got no shower, teeth brushing was done with bottled water) in the evening and did not think to call the main number for assistance. Apparently the electricity to the pump bombed out during load shedding. The guest next door called early the next morning and the water was restored. In searching for the problem, we discovered a leak at our hot water heater outside and brought this to the attention of the staff the morning of checkout. A lovely lodge, great people, delicious breakfast, gorgeous grounds. Just be alert to the above issues.

what a wonderful place I like 1 litre milk for coffee as i like coffee and you can drink as many cups as you want And rooms have shower and bath (was very happy) and you can choose which ones between the two you can use And one last thing the breakfast ohhh my word Keep it up

On the way to Kruger Park we stopped over for the night at African Flair. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who saw us to our rooms and ensured that we were comfortable. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed with all the necessary toiletries and facilities. Highly recommended
