Viking Shores Motor Inn

My family had this motel booked for 8 nights a couple months ahead of our trip. Firstly, When my grandma had booked this motel, it said that breakfast was included in the price but when we got here, the concierge said that there is new management and breakfast is no longer being served. This was not mentioned after booking, probably because they did not want to lose the booking. Secondly, upon entering our room, there was a horrible smell, the garbage bin was full, the shower was disgusting and looked like someone had just taken a shower because there was hair and water in the tub, there was also a used soap and coffee stains by the sink. When we brought this to the concierges’ attention, he said there wasn’t anything he could do besides give us a new room. The new room was very outdated and the beds were very poor quality so we decided to ask for a refund. We ended up booking with the Rodeway Inn, they were very nice and accommodating. Please don’t be fooled by the reviews, it’s ok if you just want somewhere to stay for a night or 2 but it’s not clean at all and it’s just not worth the money, spend a little extra for better quality and a better experience.

The room was clean but….the decor was very dated. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were in plastic cases. The room was musty smelling but thankfully the windows opened. The pool was nice but no stairs to enter. The coffee in the morning tasted like vending machine coffee. It is right on the rail trail. There was a critter in the ceiling the last night.

We have stayed at Viking Shores several times. In an attempt to return, a direct call was made to receive a better quote than on line. A MAN WITH A HEAVY ACCENT STATED THAT THE MOTEL IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY BREAKFAST. THE QUOTE RECEIVED WAS 200 DOLLARS MORE THAN ON LINE FOR A 3 NIGHT STAY. THIS INFORMATION WAS SHARED, THE MAN SAID THAT HE COULD GIVE US A QUEEN BED! FOUND ANOTHER MOTEL!

BED BUGS! if you aren't affraid of BED BUGS this is your place. Did I mention this place is infected with BED BUGS and FILTHY. Old style rooms that can't block noise from next rooms. I had to buy Bug spray and bleach and stll couldnt get rid of BED BUGS! Do yourself a favor GO ELSEWHERE! BED BUGS!

The location is superior – right on Route 6 in Eastham, only five minutes from the stunning sands of Nauset Light Beach and Coast Guard Beach). Coast Guard Beach is rated among world-famous Dr. Beach’s Top Ten Beaches in America

The accommodation may be a little dated but the staff could not be more accommodating and this really means a lot and makes up for a lot. Thanks for making us feel welcome. Great breakfast too! And an excellent location at a reasonable price - what more could you need.
