The Mowbray

Our stay at hotel was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exceptional—especially Kareem at reception, who was incredibly warm, helpful, and made us feel genuinely welcome. My fiancée had arranged a birthday stay for me as the hotel is very near to the beach. The team went above and beyond to make it special. They had our room ready as we requested an early check in for our special day and had beautifully prepared it for the occasion, complete with complimentary Chocolate box. It was a lovely surprise that really made the day memorable. The room itself was spotless, stylish, and offered a beautiful view—everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Huge thanks to the Mowbray team for making our stay so special. We’ll definitely be back!

Great room with space and very comfortable bed plus its own en-suite lovely clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit and cereals and then almost any combination you wanted of cooked breakfast to compliment it with and fresh brewed coffee as you like. They don't do lunch and dinner yet. But staff food smell lovely and delicious! We saw a little parakeet on the reception which was only there for couple of days, the receptionist mentioned And did I mention it’s 2 minute walk from seafront! All perfect and topped off with two great hosts in Kareem and Raj!

Only stayed for the night, but was not ok. The pillow had some odd tracking device or something in it, put me on edge as had two kids with me. No remote for the tv again not great with kids. Had no towels until requested….but avoided the shower as looked very unhygienic. Breakfast was quoted at a high price so avoided. No parking nearby. All in all very disappointing. Try to help out local hotels but the man in charge had no clue how to run a hotel.

AVOID!! It doesn't even deserve 1 star! Needs to be shut down. Booked with my 2 children. Booked deluxe suite, it was filthy! Bed sheets dirty, no towels until the following morning then given dirty ones. Bathroom full of mould and shower didn't work. Bathroom fan full of dust and mould. Blinds covered in dust. Mugs in room weren't clean, coffee provided was 3 months out of date. Tea bags were loose and damp. No WiFi code provided. No TV remote so couldn't use TV even though I asked for a remote was told there wasn't one. No parking permit despite requesting one. All room codes are set to 1234 so not safe! Staff rude. Wrote email and offered full refund but they are not paying, just sending rude emails back. The previous review on here was from their owner - 5 star - that's laughable. Needs to be shut down for health and safety. AVOID!

I had a wonderful stay at The Mowbray! The staff were incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with, making my experience seamless and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, offering a great start to the day. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach, and I loved the fun ride on the mini train from Eastbourne Pier. Highly recommend The Mowbray for a delightful and convenient stay!
