From the initial welcome at the door by the loveliest hosts the experience at the Alistos Hotel just kept getting better and better. The hotel was only completed in 2017 so even though it is all stone construction and looks like part of the landscape, it all new. The attention to detail is seen throughout the whole hotel, from monogrammed king size towels, to placemats and water bottles. Everything is thoughtful and tasteful. The rooms are a great size with oversizes showers with rain shower heads from the ceiling. The beds and pillows are super comfortable. We took the breakfast included option and the buffet is fantastic with a selection of breads, cold meats, fresh fruit, pastry's, freshly squeezed orange juice, and coffee or tea the way you like it. The hotel has 14 rooms and is only 5 km away from Gytheio which abounds in great restaurants and beaches.

A brilliant place run by a brilliant young couple - we came back for that reason alone, as if we were visiting old friends and catching up. We had a lovely room, with a brilliant walk-in shower, a lovely balcony overlooking the olive groves and hills, comfy bed and all mod cons. The pool area is fantastic for lounging under the shade of the olive trees and the hosts will bring you cold water (and a chilled glass of wine in my case). Breakfasts are truly amazing, with a different egg dish every day, everything presented 'just so', freshly squeezed orange juice, good coffee, whipped yoghurt, fresh fruit and sweet and savoury pastries. It's a perfect place to explore the area or just to stay put and enjoy some down time.

What a gorgeous hotel, tucked away high up in the hills above Gythio with beautiful views across the olive groves. Lovely big bedroom, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. The pool area is very chic (as is the rest of the hotel) and the owners are charming. We had a delicious lunch by the pool one day and drove down to Gythio and Glyfada beach for a couple of dinners.

Wonderful family owned place. Perfection in the details, calm retreat in the surrounding hills. Beautiful pool merging with the environment, bedrooms and beds of very high quality. Well managed. We strongly recommend the experience.

We have just spent 3 incredible nights at this truly wonderful hotel. Pierre and Antigone are such amazing hosts, so hospitable and always keen to make sure we were having a superb time. The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated, also has the most fascinating family history. The setting in the hills is spectacular, it's so picturesque and tranquil, the perfect place to chill and unwind, we would definitely recommend a stay here!

A gorgeous place, beautifully appointed - everything is 'just so', from the fabrics in the room to the lovely breakfast, colourful pool loungers, amazing fluffy towels and sweet-smelling toiletries, but what makes this place is the incredible welcome by a charming multi-lingual young couple. Pierre and Antigone are the utmost hosts, always ready to chat but also happy to let you be if you want a bit of solitude admiring the view. I was touched by the way Antigone, realising my husband had a bit of trouble with stairs, changed our room to one with fewer stairs, with no fuss and without being at all patronising, quite the opposite. Our room was on the small side but well appointed, with a gorgeous turquoise bathroom and a small balcony with a table and two chairs. The only issue I would mention is that the bath plug did not work but it had a good rain shower over the bath. Breakfast included freshly pressed orange juice, delicious local pastries and egg dishes (the scrambled eggs with tomato on our last day were excellent), fruit salad, creamy yoghurt and more, with everything beautifully presented. Last but not least our dog Bubble was made so welcome she didn't want to leave! She could play with the house dog Lola and brown Lab Bruno from next door came to our door every day to ask her if she wanted to play. I think he had a crush on her and will miss her. Alistos means 'unforgettable' and we will definitely remember this place.

Antigone and Pierre made us feel so special. From the welcome throughout our 3 day stay they were always willing to give helpful information about the area. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing The entire property, both inside and out, were beautifully maintained. The history behind the property enriches your stay.

6 people travelling, including 2 young children: Very friendly & professional hotel owners who arranged for us the logistics & transfer from Athens airport (large, clean and luxurious bus shuttle with friendly driver). The hill view from the hotel is simply amazing, with a very relaxing area around the pool. Rooms are well designed and very functional (we had a Suite). For the sport lovers we are - there are great & cardio intensive running tracks possible from the hotel (around 8 kms circuit, keep some energy for the way back !). We truly felt home throughout our stay - a big thank you to Antigoni & Pierre for the great moments. We will be back ! Alex & Family.

Elegant family-run hotel which in our opinion ranks among the best in Greece. We have visited around a hundred of them and this property is certainly in the top 3. Large, clean and tidy rooms, tastefully furnished with attention to detail. Very comfortable bed. Nice and excellent breakfast. The owners were very kind and met our requests impeccably. The location in the countryside is strategic for visiting the surrounding areas of Ghitio and Aeropoli. The car is strictly necessary. Nice swimming pool and excellent restaurant with prices on average high but justifiably so. The Wi-Fi line can be improved as it is powerful but intermittent at times. Nearby, a few kilometers away, there are also some interesting beaches.
