Portsmouth (Horndean)

Stayed here for a week, have to say enjoyed it very much, good helpful staff especially Megan who went above and beyond to help my friend with a room problem, the red lion next door was a good pub, serving decent food, again staff brilliant, Robb, Emma and Samantha where frist rate, yes id stay again.

Very good Premier Inn. Ample parking and easy access. The Red Lion was very busy and with only three staff the wait for food and drinks was long. Saying that the three staff were brilliant especially Matt. Eight of us enjoyed our evening meal. The breakfast choice was great, the black pudding was the best I have had for a very long time and service from Lisa was faultless.

Lovely clean room, comfortable pillows and bed, friendly reception staff and lots of local restaurants and cafes. Close proximity to the ferry port at portsmouth and helps break up a long journey home. Would definitely come again a day recommended to friends.

I’ve stayed in this Premiere Inn before and it was as good now as it was previously. Nice location, the rooms were spotless, the evening meal and breakfast were very good. Great stay all round. Thanks

Lovely valentines stay. Partner surprised me with a room for valentines day. Lovely staff. So helpful on arrival. Booked us a table no problem. Cute chocolates. Short walk to pub for dinner and breakfast. Not far to get on the motorway when leaving. Look forward to staying again

Great place to stay - usual Premier Inn quality, great for a couple of nights stay. I was originally booked in for one night but ended up booking for a second night rather than moving on (plans had changed last minute). The guys on reception were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean was comfortable and had everything I needed for my two night stay. If I'm in that neck of the woods again I'd definitely stay again.

I booked for two nights with meal deal as I had training and exams over two days locally . On arrival I couldn’t get a table till 20.00hrs as the restaurant was fully booked for valentines on a deal they advertised. Which by the way is the other end of the car park. Came back just before 20.00hrs and asked to wait a minute, 5 of us staying at the hotel waited 10 minutes whilst they chatted to a customer they knew at the bar. Food was ok and room ok , Wi-Fi is pants . I booked dinner for 18.00 the day before as I had a lot of studying to do and didn’t want another late night dinner. So I went over just before 18.00. Strange but it seems if you stay at the hotel when going to the restaurant you are ushered to a back room and not seated in the main area ! So nearly an hour later after being seated the chef brings the food out and apologises for the wait. So another late night studying with an early start next day. So now we are eating we are told that due to short staffing there may not be breakfast the following morning. A couple came in and was seated in the back room with us when they went to order but were told that as they are not from the hotel they couldn’t be served ,so left . I didn’t even wait for my pudding and left to study. I didn’t even bother with breakfast but found somewhere local due to the staff remarks. My overall view is that if you stay at the hotel you are not treated the same in the restaurant as all the others booking just for meals as no one in the restaurant was waiting for food only hotel guests seated out the back. So far I have had a week away from home training and exams, I have stayed a two premier inns and really guys your laurels have well and truly slipped off. The two people with me on the course booked the holiday inns locally and had no problems with staffing or service.

The Premier Inn chain gives great service, I use their hotels in lots of places. It's rare to find the address shown incorrectly in the Premier Inn App, but this one was in error. Soon resolved, but a curious start to the stay! It's on Portsmouth Road, not Havant Road. Otherwise, a good experience overall, at the usual standard - but scrambled eggs made of egg powder are not scrambled eggs!!
