Clean, quiet, beautifully restored yet super easy walking to shops and restaurants!! No need to worry about the hastle of parking. Softest sheets I've ever slept on! And who can pass up delicious chocolate chip cookies!! Wonderful hosts - will definatley stay there again my next time in Galena!

We are so glad we chose to stay at Aldrich Guest House. Robert & Douglas are so kind, and their hospitality is the best we’ve ever experienced. The house is so clean, their breakfast and cocktails are delicious and the potting shed brought extra little fun! We can’t wait to stay again in the future.

This is my sixth visit to the Aldrich Guest House. The bedding is so great, you'll want to buy some for yourself. The food is great. They always have the most wonderful chocolate chip cookies. Robert and Douglas are great hosts. This is the only place I stay when going to Galena.

There is an hidden gem on 3rd Str in Galena, Il. The Aldrich Guest House is an absolutely breathtaking step back in time B/B with its exquisite furnishings. We were greeted by the innkeepers Robert and Douglas the moment the door opened , given a tour and history lesson of the Illinois greats that have owned or had the privilege of stepping inside. Every room we saw was beautifully painted, super clean and sophisticatedly decorated. We were staying in Rm#5 the original Master Bedroom. It was the perfect size for 2 people with a spacious bathroom with an original clawfoot tub. No TV - it’s time to unplug and unwind!! Every morning we were professionally served a homemade plate of goodness that was almost too pretty to eat. Chocolate chip cookies to sneak thought out the day and drinks w/ light hors d’oeuvres at 5pm sharp!! This B/B is within walking distance of main street and all its shopping and terrific dining options and a short distance drive from many local attraction/sites. If you are thinking of visiting Galena at least you know now where to stay!!

The Aldrich guest house was truly an experience I will always remember. The food was lovely, beds were comfortable, everything was scrupulously clean and our hosts Robert and Douglas were wonderfully charming. Truly a relaxing stay. Highly recommend.

We can't say enough good things about the Aldrich House. Douglas and Robert are the perfect hosts, the place is gorgeous, and the breakfasts are amazing. On top of getting all the 'basics' right, they are the most convivial of hosts, great conversationalists and just fun to be around. For those who like details: - The Room was spacious, with a space to sit besides the bed; always a plus for us. - The bed was super comfortable. We slept like babies. - The location is just a 5 minute walk away from Main street, the river walk path and Grant Park. A nice, quiet street. The place has a lovely yard, it looks like a park. - The service is impeccable. Breakfast at 8:30, drinks and light snack at 5, what's not to love? If you're going to Galena Aldrich house is your place.

The Aldrich Guest House is not only ascetically pleasing but delightful down to the smallest detail. The rooms were simply gorgeous and the bed nothing short of luxury. Breakfast was served with exquisite care and was delicious. If you're looking for a get away that truly takes you away, this is your place. Within walking distance to all the quaint shops downtown.

This was our sixth stay at the Aldrich; our favorite b&b of the many we’ve stayed at all over the country. Robert and Douglas; two inn keepers extraordinaire make you feel like they’re there just for you. Which is in fact the case. The house is beautifully decorated but not over the top like so many b&b’s are. The breakfasts by Douglas are a treat for the senses. Each room is delightful; we’ve stayed in them all. Need a dinner reservation or a suggestion of where to go for the day; Robert will provide that. I’d give this wonderful place an eleven.

My stay at Aldrich Guest House was amazing! Robert and Douglass were incredibly friendly and charming hosts, and the house was so cozy and beautiful. My friend and I felt totally at ease there and safe every night. The breakfast was DIVINE - I especially loved the pistachio muffin! The location is also perfection. I could walk to Main St easily and loved that I didn't have to deal with my car. I've already booked another stay for June!
