Stayed here for 2 nights rooms. Lovely bed, very comfortable. Excellent value for money a big. A big thank you to all the staff and landlord for making our stay enjoyable. A very friendly welcoming pub. A big call up to Amber who could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble no complaints at all.

The food was delicious. Staff overall were really nice the downside was that the hygiene of the staff was very poor dirty hands smelt like smoke just lack of hygiene overall for majority of members really let the food down. Everything else was really nice .

We had an excellent stay over Christmas. A couple of noise issues were resolved and we were given a different room, a suggestion of better sound proofing? Very happy with how it was eventually resolved. We had all our meals here, they were all well presented, tasty and plentiful. Good local produce used. The only downside was that on our final breakfast our table wasn’t laid up for us, there was minimal continental choice and no fresh fruit. On both mornings the bread for toast was in the bread wrapper, we also didn’t have any jams, butter or marmalade. There was plenty of choice of cereals and fruit juices. Our room was kept clean & tidied, we were also allowed to keep our room until just before leaving for home, so kind & appreciated. Our dog enjoyed her stay and was allowed in all of the building, exceptional. She was even given a Christmas lunch, much appreciated. All in all an excellent stay but could have been even better with a little more attention to detail. We would certainly like to stay again in the future, plenty to see & do nearby.

We booked a meal and were completely disappointed by the staff and food. The manager (I assume) had a poor attitude, refused to smile and everything felt like a chore. The food was poor, overcooked and onion rings burned, definitely not worth £16 for a chicken burger. The staff were drinking alcohol, playing darts and having a party which was completely unprofessional. They also clearly wanted us to leave as they started to play music so loud we couldn’t continue our conversations. I had booked this for my finances birthday and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I won’t be returning

It would take so little to take this from being a bad 2* experience to being a good 4* one. One positive is the front of house staff/bar staff are great, very friendly and attentive. Location is good, just a short walk to the river, a reasonable hike to the coast and a few nice local pubs. The Inn itself is a fairly large pub which when we visited was very busy. I expect when staying in an inn that there will be some noise from the pub, and indeed there is, but it is limited and is not of any real issue. The real negative is the noise from the kitchen, which the roo is directly above. We asked on our first afternoon that this was turned down as we had travelled a long way and wanted to relax, the bar staff were clearly aware of an issue and it was promptly sorted out. Next day we went out for a long walk, returning mid afternoon, back in our room the relaxing sound of drum and bass from the kitchen, interspersed with some terrible singing. Once again we asked the (different) bar staff, they were also aware that this is an issue and have had complaints in the past. On this occasion the music was turned off - for about half an hour only to return just as bad. As this Inn has this little respect for their guests then they do not deserve customer's money. Once is bad enough, when there is clearly a problem perhaps a member of management should go & take the stereo away 2 other issues, King Bed is 2 old spring mattresses pushed together & shower has barely no pressure

Busy pub, lovely decor in rooms but radiator in bathroom not working and noisy extractor fan in kitchen below room so avoid family room 3 if possible ! Good breakfast even though it is just continental it is more than enough (cereal, pastries, fruit etc).

The pub was very welcoming. We had a lovely meal and our waitress was superb. The room was on the hole clean and tidy. Plenty of storage space if you were staying for a few days. The mattress was was a bit worn and the shower wasn't very powerful.

Booking a table was easy and didn't wait long to be seated. Ordered food, which we only had to wait for about 30min. The onion rings were over done my steak and ale pie was awful, the filling was mushy and gravey tasted of strong bovril. The cabbage was underdone and too chewy. The mash potatoes was nice.I didn't think the meal was worth £16. I have had better food elsewhere for half the price. Sorry, but I won't be going back.
