Perfect! The hotel is very nice and cozy. It also provides free water. The restaurant is also great. There is also a bar where you can have a drink. The atmosphere is very good at night. The White Cliff is very close. You can leave early in the morning for a hike and come back just in time to check out. Perfect. Location

Lovely old 15th century hotel. Rooms clean & spacious with everything you need. Food was delicious and we ate in both nights of our stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Walking distance to village and short drive to the Seven Sisters National park. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

This place is gorgeous. We stayed for one night only in the CATHERINE ROOM and liked it very much, especially the outside area with the village green and the neighbouring cottages. It was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon / evening with locals, ramblers and tourists. This might have to do with the village fair which took place that weekend. The food was good, also breakfast. Next time, we might try one of the cottages when staying there for longer.

Butternut squash wellington was really lovely and the pub is very cozy and welcoming. Facilities immaculate and good menu. We were running late due to getting lost on a walk and the team were very understanding and held our table for half an hour.

I have come down from Hailsham and absolutely loved the scenery on the green where I consumed many lovely pints! What was more impressive was the young man named Scott who has been outstanding with his customer service! Tried to walk Inside- he offered me table service! Pints brought out instantly by him after each order and even the chips !! Less than 30 seconds after I ordered !! Even the local maccies isn’t that quick !! He over heard me talking about getting a table at the Thai across the green and walked up there and booked me the best table in the restaurant! Thank you Scott! We will come back!

This is a super village pub with real ale and great food used to be our local 25 years ago so pleased to call in and get great food on a Friday night. Super menu selection and great prices fresh tuna with crushed potatoes and broccoli, mushroom burger with chips and salad vegan choices great. Cosy atmosphere excellent bar staff very welcoming great to see busy as ever. Wish we lived closer always worth a visit.

We visited for lunch with my cousin. The service was good and the food was passable and promptly served. The price was reasonably in these expensive times. The setting is beautiful and this could be a real destination pub for food as it is set between Eastbourne and Seaford.

Such a shame as the setting is lovely in East Dean but this is not a destination for the food, far from it. Basic pub grub not even cooked with care. Choices are mostly standard pub meals fish and chips, burgers, hunter’s chicken, salads, pies and curry. Nothing adventurous not even good homemade food. My fish was dry and chips just mass produced cooked from frozen. Chicken burger dry with unpleasant chilli sauce. Other members of our party had a pie and burger - veg under cooked and salad old. This is fast food at best and such a shame as in this location they should do so much better, but why bother as most people are passing trade on holiday and will probably never come back again. We certainly won’t. Very disappointing.
