Super Unterkunft. Von A-Z hat alles geklappt. Eine tolle Unterkunft mit Kindern. Am Abend war es ab 22.00 uhr sehr ruhig im Hof und auch mit offenen Fenstern lässt es sich so gut schlafen. Das Frühstück war zum Geniessen in einem schönen Saal. Allgemein ist diese Jugendherberge wunderschön eingerichtet. Das Museum ist top und mit Kindern sehr gut machbar. Es gibt ein Rätselspass, basteln, Truhen öffnen, Schatzkisten und vieles mehr. Es lohnt sich dieses Museum zu besuchen. Diese Unterkunft ist nur zum Empfehlen

We did stay from Dec 31st, 2022 to Jan 1st, 2023 in two rooms on the third floor. Everything was clean and neat. Modern rooms with enough space and a large bath. Comfortable beds and all well maintained. Check-in and check-out were fast and all service personnel was very very friendly and helpful. On top free entrance to the Formula-1 museum and the large impressive Aquarium on the lower floor with restaurant. There is plenty of parking space too so altogether a great and relaxing stay. This amazing discovery is the perfect hotel to relax, & unwind, I never feel like leaving and stay for one more amazing meal in the restaurant, the staff are friendly, courteous, & do that little bit more to calm the morning, (my second visit), I’m going back again soon. I wish they could get a covered in electric high speed recharge station.

PROS - Modern clean rooms with comfortable beds and reading lights. - Fast and easy route to the centre via the bus (free to guests!) - Black out blinds - Two bed apartment was very spacious - Laundry facilities (washer and dryer, 2 francs each) were really helpful, and clearly signposted - Parking including reasonably fast electric car charging - Concierge was available, helpful and very friendly. CONS - The air con was very slow even when turned up to the highest setting, and rooms were hot. Windows don’t open. - The breakfast was abysmal value. No fruit selection (just the usual bulk-bought fruit salad; it doesn’t cost much to put some apples and seasonal fruit in a bowl to choose from!). The scrambled eggs were rated inedible by the whole family. No baguette or whole loaves to slice, just large individual rolls and some white sliced processed bread.

The rooms in the homestay are large and clean, and the owner is very friendly. But there is a church near the hotel, this church will ring the bell every hour, even when it is sleeping in the early morning. . . . So the quality of sleep is not good.

We stayed for a couple days over the easter holiday. We stayed in the Annex, not the main hotel. The annex is a bit farther away from the main public areas. The room was comfortable, and the window was facing the Munster. It was a fairly quiet room and very comfortable. The linens on the bed were comfortable and the shower excellent. The staff was very polite and helpful, both in the reception and the bar. Due to dinner arrangements, we did not take dinner nor breakfast at the hotel. We did however, go to the bar for a post-hike drink. There is a parking garage in the annex, but we parked our car at the Baseltor garage. The hotel is also about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is very conveniently located in Solothurn, and is our favourite now for our frequent short stays in the town. We will definitely stay in the hotel during our next stay.

The climatesystem still isn’t working. When we checked in, we weren’t told about the problems with the climate system, nor the time of the breakfast in the morning or the checkout time. She only asked if we brought a pet hamster when she saw the beauty case. Strange. When we opened the door, the room was very hot. Switching on the climatesystem, there was only noise but no cooling. When we complained about the climatesystem we were told that the system will be repaired tomorrow. On Sunday the rapairman doesn’t work!! We asked about some compensation, we were promised maybe a refund tomorrow, a free breakfast or something like that. But tomorrow there will be more information about the refund. The weather is very hot, no good staff in sight, it will be heavy night. Paid the room in advance. Big mistake….

Great hotel location superb, 3 mins from Railway Station, 5 mins from Town centre. Hotel overlooks the river Aare with superb views of the Jura Mountains. Modern hotel with great rooms, my only (very small) suggestion for an improvement would be Aircon a bit cooler, but I just like very cold bedrooms, so possibly that's just me. Breakfast was great with a huge choice of freshly cooked food and cold platters, staff friendly and professional.
