Not a good hotel. The rooms are very dated, with furniture and fittings that look like they haven’t been updated in decades. Most things are either broken, worn out, or barely functional. There is no air conditioning, which made the stay very uncomfortable. The rooms are consistently 5–10 degrees warmer than outside, and the old, drab furniture just adds to the stuffy, claustrophobic feeling. As the other reviews have said, the hotel is basically half of a building site. Construction starts early in the morning and is extremely noisy, which completely ruins any chance of rest or relaxation. The location is also poor. It’s right on a main road, so there is constant traffic noise, day and night. To make things worse, the only way into town is via a narrow, dark road that takes about 20 minutes to walk. Not convenient at all. Service was very mixed. A few members of staff were polite and helpful, but others were shockingly rude. At times, staff were openly disrespecting each other in front of guests, which made for an awkward and unprofessional atmosphere. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Outdated, uncomfortable, badly located, noisy, and with inconsistent service.

Almost, but not quite
Spacious but rudimentary rooms, with a lot to desire on facilities. Very nice restaurant, but view from restaurant was non-existent. Nice spa area, but missing some basic services. All in all a lot of potential. Has all the makings of being a very nice hotel, but is missing some finishing touches on a lot of facilities.

Great place to stay, extremelly clean, well arranged, friendly staff and ready to help. Very good restaurant, not too many options but they are changing the menu completelly on a daily basis! So for sure you will find someting new each time when you'll attend. The food quality is very good, starting from breakfast to dinner. Room impecably clean, everything very well maintained. The surronding area is very pleasant, on the Danube shore with hills around close to manh beautifully hystoricall small cities. A place to remember! Congratulation hotel team!

A very beautiful hotel in a very beautiful setting. It was the second time and certainly not the last. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Also nice wine. At the rooftop luxury wellness and pool. You can choose between many types of sauna.

Where to start. The staff is friendly and professional. Breakfast is large and delicious The rooms are nice and comfortable I did not use the spa and pool this time, but if you want to, they have these too. And we e got a couple of bikes to explore Durnstein. Not convinced yet? The full board menu is also excellent!

Schönes Hotel mit großzügigen und geschmackvoll dekorierten Räumlichkeiten und Zimmern. Rooftop-Wellness mit erholsamem Ausblick. Neubauaktivität nicht als störend wahrnehmbar. Lage am Fuße der Weinberge bedeutet eher direkt an der Straße Krems nach Melk mit entsprechendem Verkehr, lediglich durch kaum befahrenen Bahndamm getrennt. Zimmer ohne Klimaanlage bedeutet offene Fenster mit Straßenlärm. Zimmer über Raucherterrasse nicht empfehlenswert. Nach 22:00 h sollte Schluss sein – keiner kümmert sich darum. Frühstück wirklich mit überdurchschnittlich großer und guter Auswahl. Dinner: Enttäuschung, weil Vorspeise Tartarlachs eher gewollt aber nicht gekonnt, d. h. ohne Gewürze, Hauptgericht mit Wartezeit von einer Stunde. Erklärung: Kommunikation hat nicht geklappt! Restaurant war mit einer Gruppe und wenigen Paaren besucht. Das war nicht Österreich. Haben die nächsten Tage im Schlosshotel diniert mit super Service und einfallsreicher Küche. Trotzdem ein schönes Hotel mit Potenzial nach oben, bei angemessenem Management. Personal war übrigens ausnehmend höflich, bis auf Senior, der ohne zu grüßen durch die Gegend schlurfte.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer guten Lage für Ausflüge in die Wachauer Umgebung. Wir wohnten im neuen Teil des Hotels. Zimmer und Bad sind toll und sehr geräumig mit großem Balkon und schönen Blick auf die Donau. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr umfangreich und es wird immer reichlich nachgebracht. Das Angebot für eine Abendmahlzeit war hingegen sehr dürftig.
